  1. Frank Robinson, the infield fly and the search for meaning
  2. There's a more in depth discussion of it on the previous page, if you're interested, including a postgame quote from Mahomes: "It’s not taught. Something that only a couple people in this world would even think about doing" It's something Kelce monkeys around with individually, and skill players are coached to keep themselves available, but it's not a designed play.
  3. It could also even serve as an additional motivator to his boys. "Just get me there brothers and I'll be ready to ride with you"
  4. In the 30th smartest city in Massachusetts.
  5. Thanks, man. I do now remember that one vs the Bengals. Hadn't realized it was something he was regularly looking for but am surprisingly unsurprised. It's like they have a QB throwing downfield to another QB.
  6. Yeah, I've thought that too. Sort of like a March Madness model. Start at 12:30 and kick them off every 10 minutes; then between 330 and 430 networks could just run down the line showing the end of a bunch of different games, at least some of which would be good enough to keep folks in the LR and out of the kitchen.
  7. No, but they do for some 4pms when they are only a couple games going instead of 8-9.
  8. Also found a quote from Mahomes postgame that confirms: “It’s a legendary moment, man. It’s not taught. Something that only a couple people in this world would even think about doing,” Mahomes added. “For him to make that play in that moment—making the play, making the catch, making a couple dudes miss and then throwing the ball across the field to another guy and scoring a touchdown in that moment—I hope they still show it whenever he goes into the Hall of Fame. Because that’s a legendary moment.... I didn't realize he'd done it in a game before. But I was going to say that I'd bet a good chunk of money that he's absolutely going to try it again before the year is out. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him start incorporating an occasional pump fake into his YAC if the angles are right.
  9. My read is that Toney had completed has assigned task on the play, was well aware he couldn't get close enough to anybody to affect it any further so stayed where he was to a) watch the play b) stay available and c) not stray far from where he was likely going to have to quickly line up shortly. I have no doubt he tries it a bunch in practice; it was clearly not the first time he's considered it. And I have no doubt the Chiefs skill players are regularly coached to keep themselves available like that, particularly in late game situations. But nobody has a pre-designed play where a pass-catcher weaves 15 yards downfield, cuts across the grain then rips a 20yrd lateral across the field. It was not designed.
  10. It was an impressively fast release and accurate delivery of probably 15-20yrds from a big man on the move in traffic. But I was less amazed by the athleticism than I was by the vision and instincts.
  11. I'd love the idea if both of the games were good; or maybe even if just one of them was good. Although I do think they should offset the kickoffs by about 20min so you could fully enjoy the end of both.
  12. That was absolutely not a designed play. But I will bet he does it again before the end of the year.
  13. This. "you're off, 84" to a nearby boundary guy is within the norm. Screaming halfway across the field to a slot WR who's hurrying around in the last couple minutes and paying no attention to you is not.
  14. Definitely. Kelce untucked and released that thing so fast, (errrr... swift for the triple entendre) most guys would still have had eyes on his thighs when it blew by their earhole.
  15. Yes, it was Davis. But I never saw a replay that actually made me think he did it intentionally. Did you see one that did?
  16. PM: "One of the worst f'ing calls I've ever seen" JA: "What?" PM: "Offensive Offside...<?Kermit noises?>. F'ing terrible"
  17. My understanding is that the treatment plan stated that this would be the first game he was allowed to play without the brace. I definitely thought he looked quicker without it on.
  18. I hadn't even considered that until y'all started mentioning it. Business be getting mystic up in here.
  19. Missed it earlier and am glad you repeated it. That was the most on point thing that I've seen in any of these 114 pages.
  20. Yeah, but now they're considering moving him to QB.
  21. I get that he thinks that the crew shouldn't be in that close, and he's not wrong, but those boys are wound waaaaay too tight right now.
  22. He was losing it early when he was rightly called for a takedown.
