  1. That's the kind of stuff that could actually convince me to start paying for content from the News. Take good care of that guy, BN. That's the kind of quality and originality your paper has been sorely lacking.
  2. I admit to being a little surprised by how may folks seem to be looking at this through the lens of what gives the Bills the best chance right now. The truth is the Bills have no chance right now. There is no QB on planet Earth available to them that can turn this team into a winner this year. It's simply not in the realm of reality and it's time to stop considering it as a possibility when deciding how to move forward. It's already past time to just protect your investment by giving him regular repetitions during the week and then letting him stand on the sidelines and listen to the entire staff running the offense through a headset in real time on Sundays. Maybe later in the season when his fundamentals are a little more solid, you let him run the offense in managed situations to get some experience, but aside from that I think you just need to keep him healthy until next year when you have more talent around him and he's better prepared to take care of himself out there. Thank you for stating it more thoroughly and with more clarity than I've been able to.
  3. If it's that vs Peterman winning zero games or Allen winning another 2-3 before he gets hurt for real, I'll still take the Derek Anderson scenario I guess my comment about standing next to the coaches was more a figure of speech than anything
  4. You're just saying that cuz he's from Western New York and you probably sound just like him
  5. Sure, but I just see a significant difference between the norm of risking injury and the outlier of courting disaster. Swimming in the ocean is one thing, jumping in a shark tank wearing a seal suit is a different sort of recreation.
  6. The first time I heard him talk I was utterly astounded that somebody had seen fit to give him a microphone. I fully expect Gronk to be the anchor at ESPN by this time next year.
  7. I'd rather not speculate from whence that rabbit was pulled.......
  8. Who gave Yogi Berra a mike?
  9. Can you really blame them, though? I don't know if there's another player in the NFL I enjoy watching pulling rabbits out of his head more than Rogers.
  10. I used to think he was a pretty good coach until a couple years ago when I watched him single-handedly cost his team a Lombardi trophy by taking the ball out of Rogers' hand late in an NFC Championship game vs Seattle; one of the most gutless pieces of coaching I have ever seen at any level.
  11. When he first started running those zone dogs early, I had a feeling he was going to get a pick out of it. But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that Mahomes was going to go off like that in the 2nd half; and that's coming form a guy that has been singing his praises since the first time I saw play earlier this year.
  12. I see coach doing that exact same thing until it bites him square in the bippy. I just think you aint' winning with either of them so let the new/old stunt double be the guy that gets his knee rolled up on or gets turfed onto his throwing shoulder.
  13. No disappointment 'tall. Berg was just a solid OG from back in the 1990's whose tone resembled your own, so I had to ask. Sorry boss, I don't see any comparison; at least between the two players. Maybe in the circumstances, but Allen is a far more natural athlete and QB than EJ ever was.
  14. I'd take that ass-whipping for 3/4 of a million bucks. Of course, I don't already have several other million in the bank! You're not the Berg of Colorado via OSU by any chance?
  15. If you wish to address me any further on this subject, I'd suggest you use the PM feature to prevent further despoiling this intelligent and erudite thread which we are all fortunate to have. My part in it is now at an end.
  16. I'm sorry for you that you think my teasing a fellow long-time poster about his spelling was trolling. There are better ways to go through life than seeking victimhood status at every turn.
  17. I'm going to report this post because there's not a second "e" in Pennsyltucky. ?
  18. I couldn't give a popcorn fart about his feelings or confidence. If those are a concern, he's already done as a QB in this league. I'm talking about him getting seriously injured in a way that is going to negatively affect his physical abilities for the next 15 years.
  19. I don't disagree with any of that, but in this particular offense, I don't think those reps are providing any real benefit to him. The chances of him suffering a catastrophic injury are far greater than anything he's going to learn in his current environment.
  20. Belichick threw every kitchen sink in the greater Boston area at him last night and the kid scored 5 times on 6 second half possessions.
  21. There is never going to be any "proof", but that speculation is absolutely NOT baseless.
  22. Yeah, impeccable timing. I was actually going to post something similar about keeping him on the sideline this year, then about 4 hours after I had come to that conclusion he took a ferocious beating in one of the preseason games and I just figured it was redundant at that point. Although in hindsight, I have no idea why it isn't also redundant now ?
  23. No hot potato; you put Allen next to the coaches and leave him there. If you're not scared of this kid taking long-term damage in this offense, I think you're whistling past the graveyard.
  24. In this particular scenario, he's likely no worse an option than Peterman or a green rookie from the Mountain West
  25. Considering that the first few of you gents responded in less than a minute, perhaps you should consider actually reading the post and considering its merits before chucking it ?
