I hated the jumbo package there; I'd have spread it out and either let Fitz climb the ladder on a draw or bunch guys to create separation at the LOS You just cant win a 1-1 matchup when the other guy is allowed to take a penalty and you aren't.

He's conditioned to run that clock down to as close to zero as possible regardless of who they're playing because that's what they practice I agree with you and was thinking the exact same thing on 2nd/6 from the 15 when they were taking their time, but I thought it was the right thing to do at the time. And I was even taking into account how bad miami's O has been, but am still just too mentally conditioned to get it close to :00 and not hurry unless you have to.

That's an impossible situation for Chandler. That DB can beat him to a pulp anywhere on the field whether or not the ball is in the air and the penalty is irrelevant. It's impossible for Chandler to beat him at the line w/o taking a penalty himself, which he's trying not to do. It was an awful call with :06 left and Chan probably realized it very shortly after he made it

We've done it several times and got stoned almost every one of them I can remember. I don't like empty sets either,but I've come to prefer them to the automatic punt that our base short yardage package has been this year

He can get where he's supposed to be, but that ball is on time and on target and NFL receivers have GOT to be able to make that play and I don't think Jones will ever be able to. I'm not convinced there's a place for him in this league.

I got to hang out on the sideline during the preseason and he was the most purely athletic specimen running around on that field. But if you throw a ball over his head and ask him to turn his hips to track it, he just cannot do it.
