  1. Dear gawd, I'm starting to Billieve Somebody help me......
  2. So looking ahead a bit we might end up seeing Kulikov/Ristolainen and Guhle/Bogosian as the Top 4. If we're ever healthy and a couple guys like Fasching and Nylander pan out, we're going to be a giant pain in everybody's ass by next season.
  3. In this case, it isn't so much being down on McCabe as it is thinking he's just not a good fit for 55. I'd rather Rasmus had a partner who's more reliable in his own end so he has a bit more leeway to join the attack with that skillset of his.
  4. I haven't seen him play yet so I can't comment. Would he work well with #55 or would he be a bad fit there, like I think McCabe is? I wonder if we're going to run into trouble keeping him under that 10 game limit the way things are going. Or whether the team is really even all that concerned about it.
  5. In passpro as well I'd say keeping Mack out of the backfield is pretty galdanged useful in itself What the hell kind of fan are you? Go yank that thing out of there for free......
  6. Which was also the only good team they had on their schedule. Alabama might beat them by 5 touchdowns
  7. What if Bama loses it conference championship game by a point because their QB was out with food poisoning? What if undefeated OSU loses an OT conference championship game to a two loss team on the last play because of a blown call? There's just no real advantage to having the criteria be so rigid that you can't allow for circumstances. Because chances are one of those teams is probably going to need a win to get in. And if they both happen to be undefeated then the point is to see undefeated rivals go at it regardless of seeding or standings. Of course it should be different; conference and schedule strength make it an entirely different scenario. The pros automatically put their division winners in the postseason; there's no reason for colleges to do that too.
  8. He's missing it for the birth of his grandchild? I'm heading to the OSU message board.........
  9. Honestly, I'd rather see them in Pasadena with a chance to end an incredible season on a positive note, than to get pantsed by Alabama in front of 20 million people.
  10. You could also add to that list a couple regulars from the Big12 and a team like Houston in the next year or two. If they pick the best 8, you don't have to make a hard/fast rule that all 5 power conference winners get in every year, because they're almost always going to get in anyways. But at least leave the option open to put one of those MAC schools in there, or three SEC teams, or leave out WVU if they win the Big 12 with several losses.
  11. I think if you limit it to that then every year you leave out at least one or two teams who would have a legitimate chance to win a championship. When you also factor in the disparity in the strength of the conferences, you don't end up with the best 4 teams either i.e. I don't think any Pac-12 champ is as good as the 2nd place teams in the Big 10, SEC, etc. Eight is just enough to get in any team who has earned a real shot. Plus we get twice as much football to watch!
  12. This is what it should look like: (1) Alabama vs (8) Florida St (2) Ohio St vs (7) Michigan (3) Clemson vs (6) Oklahoma (4) Washington vs (5) Penn State You're not leaving out anybody who has a realistic chance to become champion by winning 3 straight against that level of competition. And you get a big ol' pile of awesome football games.
  13. I'd say he might fall in right behind Ryan Leaf as the biggest waste of physical talent I've ever seen at the QB position.
  14. For some reason I am just not seeing what multiple other folks seem to be seeing. The guy played at the upper end of his ability last night and he was still a mental mistake just waiting to happen. Right now I think he is the biggest liability on this roster and his questionable decision making is one of the reasons I really want to see the Bogosian/Kulikov pairing back as quick as possible.
  15. "Instead of installing a large number of different plays, the approach was to run a lot of their stronger play concepts out of different pre-snap looks." This might be my favorite thing that Lynn has been doing so far; he's thrown some outlandish formations out there that have had me laughing so hard pre-snap that I've nearly ended up missing the play. And I have no doubt that some of these looks are not only disguising what they're doing, but they're also creating confusion for opposing defenses; you can find multiple examples of of defenders having trouble getting lined up correctly and defining their responsibilities when the ball is about to be snapped only to end up getting mauled by our guards. I kind of liked Greg Roman 6 days a week; it was that 7th day that was a real problem for him. Lynn has been an absolute revelation so far and seems to be at his best on Sunday afternoons. Enjoy him while you can because I think he's going to be a head coach in the not too distant future; or I fear we're going to lose him when the Ryan Bros and Barnum & Bailey show finally has its tentpegs pulled and gets shuffled off to the next county.
  16. I also think it's silly that our goaltending has been catching an unfair ration of shlt while this team is ravaged by injuries out front. Lehner and Nilsson have been getting next to no help in front of them for much of this year and the hell they've been catching from Sabres fans is seriously misdirected, imo.
  17. Can't quite put my finger on it but there was something different about the Sabres tonight. Figure about two weeks for the forward lines to get reacquainted with each other and more importantly to get the Bogosian/Kulikov paring back and then we're in business.
  18. Sometimes having a guy who is too worried about the turnover is just as bad as having a guy who isn't worried enough
  19. I think you could also add #55 to that list as well as Okposo's outstanding hands. Ennis has a few 20 goal seasons also (although I think we've probably seen the last of them). I'm a little more optimistic about what we're going to see from these kids when they're healthy. They'll have two good lines backed by a solid checking line, two good defensive pairings, a very good goalie rotation and probably the most professional coaching we've seen anywhere in Buffalo in a long time. In a watered down league that really only has a small handful of truly good teams, these guys should be able to play with just about anybody once they finally have some time to work together. If they can keep their noses above water for another month or so I can see them building the kind of momentum that not only gets them in the postseason, but actually winning a series if they can avoid the #8 (and maybe also the #6) seed.
  20. Actually, the political idiocy is supposed to be kept confined to PPP and is not allowed on the main board; this thread is a fine example of why that rule exists.
  21. I'm guessing that she wants to privatize genocide with public money, zero oversight and minimum wage unskilled labor. Because when you know better than the Jewish community what's best for them, you might as well make sure your allies enrich themselves in the process!
  22. Well I guess that just means that aside from 3 mods, the PPP crew are the only ones who've had the stones to come right out with it. Props to them.
