  1. Improvise, adapt and overcome People who were on the sidelines reported that Diggs was not yelling at Allen about getting him the ball more, he was yelling that he wanted Allen to ignore Dorsey and just call up whatever Josh wanted to run.
  2. Yes he is. And what spooks me is that I'm not convinced there exists a viable path where taking care of himself and playing smarter will lead to an appreciable improvement in his day to day health. On every snap he's going hard against either one or two guys who are bigger and stronger than him, which means he's got to plant and drive that much harder, press and pull that much harder, and extend and expose himself that much more to be effective. If he doesn't do it, he's not effective and if he does, shlt is going to start popping. He might be able to add some more size without losing too much jump and that might help him stay on the field more; but if not, he's probably going to be going through a hell of a lot of tape.
  3. This is an excellent post and I would only add to it that the fact that's he's well-respected by all his brothers and coaches is a decisive factor as well.
  4. That's slick how you blame it on them and not the guy who's properly training them Holy schnikes. I wear a suit every day and don't even own an iron.
  5. Yeah, but it might be nice to see a little more self-control and a little less trying to kamikaze everything that moves in the 1st qrtr of week 2.
  6. If I was a Guard and walked up to the LOS and saw Cam Heyward and Aaron Donald standing over there, I'd probably grab my hamstring and throw myself on the ground.
  7. <Tremaine Edmunds has entered the chat>
  8. No worries, there's still 3 quarters left
  9. Do you know what he was yelling?
  10. Who cares? The only way to know if a DT affected the game is by reading the box score!
  11. I would suggest that when you finish around the top 5 in tackles for loss at your position that you're not doing a whole lot of disappearing. The only time he's invisible is when he's hurt, which is my only real concern about this extension.
  12. The only bit of that I'd disagree with is that I'd suggest DT is is even more important than any DB on the field because I think good Defense starts in the middle.
  13. I do mine about once a week, my wife does hers 2-3 times a week. The real question here though is Do you fold your underwear? I make fun of my wife daintily folding hers while I'm stuffing a ball of boxer/briefs in my skivvy drawer. Which one of us is normal?
  14. If we don't hear from Maynard soon, I'm calling the cops!
  15. Interesting, I would not have guessed that. When also you factor in that Oliver is waaaaaay better than Meatball at holding the POA, that paints him in a pretty good light.
  16. That's what you get for riding sober!
  17. quitter........
  18. You are the only that keeps saying that, which explains quite a bit Keep trolling this thread repeatedly with stupid shlt and you get what you deserve 🤷‍♂️
  19. Oliver has drawn a ton of doubles over the last couple years; when Von went out, that number probably went through the roof. If you go back and watch the last Cincy game, the level of fear and respect he drew from the Bengals Offensive coaching staff might make your head explode. 🤯
  20. The fact that you rely on statistics and popular opinion to judge the effectiveness of DT's tells us all we need to know. Thank you. 👍
  21. Agreed that "YOU" couldn't.
  22. Fun fact: Last year there were only 5 DTs in the NFL that had more Tackles for Loss per game than Ed Oliver. But please keep telling us how awful he is and that you never see him make any plays. It's funny because it just shows how little you actually see.
  23. I don't watch film of 50 other NFL DLinemen and neither do you. My guess would be that he's somewhere in that neighborhood.
  24. No, he's had a pec injury, has had to wear a knee brace and has had "core muscle" surgery in the offseason previously. And those ankle injuries are chronic for him; they've popped up I think every single year he's been in the league. It's a problem because a) at his size he has to work so hard that it makes him more prone to injury and b) when he does get injured it's more detrimental to an undersized guy who relies so much on effort.
  25. The only real problem isn't that Oliver is a bad player, he's not. It's that there's a real possibility that he's going to spend a large chunk of his career regularly fighting injuries that hamper his speed and strength.
