  1. I'm going to go ahead and take some lumps on this one cuz it's looking like I may have been dead wrong. I really thought Poyer was just laying in the weeds, keeping himself healthy for the stretch run. And I really thought that coming out of the bye and going to Kansas City would be the week he decided to go ahead and let the dawg out. I like the guy and appreciate what he's done so I will be diplomatic and just say that letting that dawg out was NOT what happened on Sunday.
  2. The two situations are different for a variety of reasons (legally, contractually, etc). There is nothing they learned from the Araiza situation that has anything to do with the Von Miler situation.
  3. Yeah, we're the only human culture that does that
  4. I think I feel like there's a small, very vocal contingent that skews that perspective and more folks than not actually do like him.
  5. This is a great time to be playing Dallas because an NFC loss would actually help us with tiebreakers.
  6. Ben Johnson. No, the other one.....
  7. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive topic titles. A single name if far too vague to post as a title and provides little insight into what specifically the post is talking about. The topic starter can edit the topic title line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  8. I actually had to delete what I had typed and then just responded with a jpg instead.
  9. Frank Robinson, the infield fly and the search for meaning
  10. There's a more in depth discussion of it on the previous page, if you're interested, including a postgame quote from Mahomes: "It’s not taught. Something that only a couple people in this world would even think about doing" It's something Kelce monkeys around with individually, and skill players are coached to keep themselves available, but it's not a designed play.
  11. I know he was awful at G, but geez..........
  12. Grrrrrrrrrrrribbit.....
  13. It could also even serve as an additional motivator to his boys. "Just get me there brothers and I'll be ready to ride with you"
  14. In the 30th smartest city in Massachusetts.
  15. Thanks, man. I do now remember that one vs the Bengals. Hadn't realized it was something he was regularly looking for but am surprisingly unsurprised. It's like they have a QB throwing downfield to another QB.
  16. Yeah, I've thought that too. Sort of like a March Madness model. Start at 12:30 and kick them off every 10 minutes; then between 330 and 430 networks could just run down the line showing the end of a bunch of different games, at least some of which would be good enough to keep folks in the LR and out of the kitchen.
  17. No, but they do for some 4pms when they are only a couple games going instead of 8-9.
  18. Also found a quote from Mahomes postgame that confirms: “It’s a legendary moment, man. It’s not taught. Something that only a couple people in this world would even think about doing,” Mahomes added. “For him to make that play in that moment—making the play, making the catch, making a couple dudes miss and then throwing the ball across the field to another guy and scoring a touchdown in that moment—I hope they still show it whenever he goes into the Hall of Fame. Because that’s a legendary moment.... I didn't realize he'd done it in a game before. But I was going to say that I'd bet a good chunk of money that he's absolutely going to try it again before the year is out. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him start incorporating an occasional pump fake into his YAC if the angles are right.
  19. My read is that Toney had completed has assigned task on the play, was well aware he couldn't get close enough to anybody to affect it any further so stayed where he was to a) watch the play b) stay available and c) not stray far from where he was likely going to have to quickly line up shortly. I have no doubt he tries it a bunch in practice; it was clearly not the first time he's considered it. And I have no doubt the Chiefs skill players are regularly coached to keep themselves available like that, particularly in late game situations. But nobody has a pre-designed play where a pass-catcher weaves 15 yards downfield, cuts across the grain then rips a 20yrd lateral across the field. It was not designed.
  20. It was an impressively fast release and accurate delivery of probably 15-20yrds from a big man on the move in traffic. But I was less amazed by the athleticism than I was by the vision and instincts.
  21. I'd love the idea if both of the games were good; or maybe even if just one of them was good. Although I do think they should offset the kickoffs by about 20min so you could fully enjoy the end of both.
  22. That was absolutely not a designed play. But I will bet he does it again before the end of the year.
  23. This. "you're off, 84" to a nearby boundary guy is within the norm. Screaming halfway across the field to a slot WR who's hurrying around in the last couple minutes and paying no attention to you is not.
