Playing him that way on the fade, look for to him plant and drive toward the pylon in the future.
Absolutely.
They are going ot have some options to torture corners going forward

I mean that's a fair point, I guess I am questioning the logic of that play when the clear advantage would be for throwing short, having Coleman turn around and box out the shorter player.
That is a legitimate question.
I'm guessing they have both routes on the books and you'll see both at some point

Meh, it was too far and too line drivey...should have been shorter and more loopy.
Allen threw a fade ball, would have preferred a back shoulder jump ball to allow Coleman to use his basketball skillset and size to box out.
The route is decided before the snap. Allen isn't going to throw a different kind of ball mid play.
They were running that same route at camp with the ball coming in hot and Coleman making the aggressive play on it overpowering the corner.
The corner just played it strong at the LOS of scrimmage that time.

That high point throw to the boundary is a tool that Josh hasn’t been able to use his entire career.
That was one of the first points I made after seeing Coleman's game for the first time.
He gives Allen options to do things that he's never had in this league before.
He could effectively make Josh a better player in the same way that Josh could make Coleman better.

Wish Allen would have given him a chance on the next fade ball to the end zone.
The throw was OK; it was just outstanding corner play and nothing more.

Happy he had a good first game. That said, he still will have to answer the question about creating space.
Also it was a push off
It was a skilled and intelligent pushoff though.
He understands to make the motion quick and violent, before the top of the route while the ref is shielded and doing it without extending his arm.
Very effective and will typically go uncalled.

He's a physically aggressive WR all over the field who plays with zero fear.
He is going to be an asset for this team on multiple levels.

Ok I checked it. Benford was there the whole time.
Ingram was on the field instead of Lewis. Lewis played whole drive until the last play. Interesting.
I think they probably don't trust him as much on clear passing downs.
He seems to play better in teh box, imo

its who McDermott is He gets tight in close games Lacks the killer instinct to go for the throat Scared they will make a mistake and allows inferior teams to steam away wins
Did you see him repeatedly attacking Murray with big blitzes on the final drive?
Didn't think so.......

Thought we should have a thread on today’s injuries, 2 significant ones today. Taron Johnson and Josh Allen left hand. Let’s put updates here if anyone see them
Why was Ingram playing so much today? Did we have an injury at CB?
If you're going to start the thread, you should be the one who posts updates in the first post of the thread and then changes the titles accordingly

Because there is a post game thread you can use instead of starting a new thread that has no interesting or original content.

Yes Ingram was in on dime looks almost all game. Or replacing Cam on 3rd downs in nickle.
I think Cards targeted their slot (Dortch) on that final play. Which was Ingrams man.
Thanks man, I was on the road most of the day. 👍

I am confused again. Did we rotate Benford with Ingram or was Benford hurt or why was Ingram on the field last play?
Are they using Ingram as a dime back?

Why do major contract signings all have to be merged together? 👎🏻
If they weren't, right now we'd have three different threads on the front page (2 from the same poster) about guys contracts who aren't even Bills.
Do we really need a whole new thread just because some random player from another team signed an extension?
I don't think that's the kind of thing that posters come here to see on the front page.

Sometimes you just have to be petty.
Failing to maximize the talent on your own team just to tweak somebody else's nose would be embarrassingly pathetic and a fireable offense.

- Flowers at the point of the throw (BTW, Lamar bailed the pocket here when he didnt need to, forcing a tighter throwing angle and bringing pressure into his face)
- Flowers looking back at the pass
I'm not trying to be overly harsh here, but Lamar made BAD mistakes here.
1) He bailed the pocket when he didnt need to and put a Chiefs player into his face
2) Assumes his WR who just created separation is going to immediately sit flat on that white line on the left side of the E after coming out of the break at full speed
3) Doesn't give his guy any lead on the throw since there are no Chiefs players within 15 feet of the right side
That's bad QB play. I dont care who you are, that's awful. blame Flowers for not sitting on his route, but that's being incredibly generous to the QB making several bad moves in short order. Combine that with a) Overthrowing Bateman forcing the catch in bounds and b) not spiking immediately after... There is a reason some QBs always win close games and some lose them - these are the things you look at as the deciding factors.
I think he bailed out of the pocket multiple times in the last minute because for some reason the Ravens were repeatedly asking a RB to pick up Chris Jones.
It was bizarre.

if nothing else settle Lamar down knowing he can’t scramble on that first play.the chaos doesn’t benefit him as a passer, just as a runner. Slow it down and get everyone synced up.
And of course he ends up burning up so much time on the play that they never had a shot at getting 4 downs anyways.

Eh. Flowers doesn’t want to sit too tight to the left side of the window he ran into. I think it’s generous trying to take some of that away from Lamar. That wasn’t a pass that missed flowers by a few inches. He tossed that three feet left of flowers outstretched hand
It wasn't a good throw, but Flowers poor read made it look a lot worse than it was, imo.

Agreed; I couldn't believe they wanted to run a play there.

Not to mention losing your world class nickel a couple minutes in.
People don't respect enough what he brings to this defense both physically and mentally, imo.
