O’Sullivan seemed to feel the LB on Samuel shoulda been the go to matchup all along?

He would certainly know better than me.

I was just guessing based on where Allen was reading it and wondering if maybe he thought that LB was going to carry Knox up the seam and Ramsey was going to stay outside with Samuel. I thought maybe that was why Allen stayed with Knox for as long as he did and then switched to Samuel when the coverage surprised him.

To the bolded and as I said in a different topic, I could not make a blanket statement as to what I would or would not do.

For each person it's different but the decision is essentially a cost/benefit anaylysis.

Solely in the interests of clarification, I wasn't using the royal "you".

I was specifically referring to the madman I was responding to, who I've known for long enough to recognize he's as big of an idiot as I am.

There was something odd to me about how Samuel ran his route - could you watch it and tell me what he's doing?

It's like he slowed to watch a couple times, did he have several windows

My guess would be that Samuel assumed if he was getting the ball it would be coming in around the 5-10 yrd line but since Allen didn't settle on him until he'd given up on his first read, the ball comes in a bit late and deeper than he anticipated.

I think he wanted Knox on the skinny post but Ramsey and the LB did not play the coverage the way he was expecting so he tried to take advantage of the LB on Samuel at the last second but the timing was off and the throw was also affected by a defender around his lower legs.

I normally wouldn’t support it but the film on him doesn’t lie- he isn’t built for the game. How many times have you made a routine stop like Hamlin’s that resulted in someone being assisted off the field?

I agree with you 100%. He's totally f***** and probably through no fault of his own; some guys do seem to just be prone to it. If/when he keeps banging away, it's probably going to end ugly and then lead to some hard years for him down the road.

But he's not stupid; he knows exactly what's up and what kind of risk/reward game he's playing.

If he's ready and willing to sacrifice himself for his people, the idea of a third party telling him "no" just doesn't sit right with me.

I have no idea whether Tua’s history includes youth concussions that would contribute to his being more prone to additional concussions. I have always wondered since the “back spasm” game whether he was simply genetically more prone. I’m unaware of a test for checking kids propensity  but whether in boxing/MA or just experience growing up where we all had friends who were unlikely to have trouble with solid hits to the head versus some who went down on what seemed like a whiff, I would bet that Tua is just a guy that has always been far more sensitive to head/ neck pops. He should have walked away from the NFL after watching videos of his “fencing posture” incidents in 2022 but he chose to continue. When I’ve chosen to do stupid ***** like jumping out of planes there has generally been some amount of regulation that might have kept me from certain dangers like hopping into a dive with a bleeding gash on my arm when there was a Bull shark shadowing my dive boat. The NFL is so wigged out on the concussion history it seems like this one is easy. They should be telling Tua they won’t do anything to stop him from playing football, but they can’t let him play in their league. That kid has been playing on borrowed time for 2 years and the clock has run down to nothing.

I would scramble my brains tomorrow morning if it resulted in the kind of generational wealth that would help my family and community for the next 100 years.

And I bet your dumb ass would too. 🤙

I'm not sure how supportive I am of the league taking that choice out of players' hands.

Guy just signed a contract for something like $160M guaranteed. Why do regular hard working folks have such a fetish for giving money to millionaires?

It's not going to him, it's going to his charitable foundation.

And the last time Bills fans did this, I think he matched their total and doubled the amount of money that was going to good works.

So it actually ended up making us look good, helping people AND costing Tua money.

    We all win!

Oh I don’t know-  maybe missing 3 of our 4 top Lbers and playing Aj Klein 💯 of the snaps?   No benford, injured Douglas, toasted poyer and Hyde.

Andy Reid, Mahomes and Kelce are all time greats.  Could possibly go down as the greatest offensive threesome in nfl history and everyone on that offense was healthy.  They beat most teams.

Not to mention Von's knee, Groot's foot and DaQuan Jones playing with one arm.

A few of us on this forum — I mentioned it last week when somebody was calling this a “rebuilding” year — that there were legitimate reasons to move away from every player the Bills either traded, released, or did not re-sign.  Glad the rest of the world is catching up.

The only one I thought might really hurt was Morse, but it hasn't shown up as a real problem yet. 🤞

after two years of stealing paycheques I will need to see a whole season out of Von before declaring him redeemed

He wasn't stealing anything. He suffered a major injury, worked his ass off to come back from it and voluntarily took a pay cut to help the team while he was doing it.

Watching Bills fans repeatedly spit on injured players over the years is one of the few things in this forum that genuinely disgusts me.

I would love to know what routes he was running because unlike Hollins, who had the second highest snap count among the WR, Keon is not in there to block.

    I disagree with this.

They are running sets with Coleman and Hollins as the only WR on the field and they are out there for one reason, because they're the two best blockers in that room.

I think this staff has full faith in Coleman already.

There was a play on Miami's first drive where Tua had to triple-clutch, before finally deciding he was seeing what he thought he was seeing and throwing to Jonnu Smith

I thought he was about to throw a pic when he finally let go of it.

Wasn't the last time he did it either.
