The two DTs behind him have been awful; and Groot looks like he's playing with his shoes tied together
That's the 4th time this half we've given up a big play because an End lost contain.
Both are safeties have been abyssmal as well.
Oliver and DaQuan have actually been good but the rest of the rotation has been awful.
I'm doubtful it would have provided any real benefits.
Maybe they were hoping he could get back early and in the meantime wanted opponents practicing as if he was going to be on the field?
Also, @TNBills mentioned below that if he's on IR he can't practice so that may have factored in as well.
