  1. I wonder what Maddy glab had to say 🤔
  2. Three runs to Cook from the 12 for a TD. Absolutely huge. On what was essentially the same play no less
  3. I've been thinking that same thing myself
  4. When he has an all-time great rookie season, we can call him that. The King of Tight Ends, Dalton 'King' Caid
  5. My favorite part is that Josh could care less about the questions and just wants to get back in the scrap.
  6. Fair enough. I'll have to pay more attention to the Bengals this year (gross) to see if he's worth the hype.
  7. Right, it is a massive difference. On an incredibly limited sample size of 2(!) games, one of which Mahomes was severely impacted by an ankle injury. If you're looking to say that your analysis on coaches winning a superbowl is accurate because of your robust historical dataset, then what does that say about this the situation we have here. I'm not even going to entertain the thought of going on the Chiefs board for countless reasons, but in this instance, fan sentiment means absolutely nothing. To say that this 2 game sample size is comparable to the 40 games played between the Bills and Belichek is laughable. Again, we'll have to see how both defenses play throughout the season and postseason to determine if he would even be an upgrade defensively like you've mentioned. This will be McDermott's first season calling plays so any comparison to previous seasons would be against Frazier.
  8. If his defense performs better than McDermott's this year, particularly in the playoffs, then I can see you point about it helping the Bills. Not to say anything about the leadership qualities or intangibles of either man. How much it does it really hurt the Chiefs though? Giving up 24 points isn't great (better than the Bills D did in the 13 seconds game, and the Chiefs ppg ave of 28.2 that year) and considering Mahomes was playing on a bum ankle and still drove down to win the game against them last year I wouldn't necessarily say they were stopping them. Add in the fact that he is a coordinator for a team that isn't named the Chiefs, I just can't see how it hurts them. If anything wouldn't it make the Bengals easier for the Chiefs to beat because therefore helping them instead? It's interesting that your choice would be a DC when the current NFL trend is to hire the hot OC's for head coach. The last 4 superbowls featured exclusively former OC's and the last former DC to win is Belichek (with Brady) I don't claim to know much, especially regarding NFL/college coaches, but it makes sense to me that an up and coming OC would be a better choice.
  9. @Einstein assuming all of your calculations are indeed accurate and there's less than a 1% chance the Bills win it all with him at the helm, who would you have the Bills replace McDermott with? Does this new coach have a statistically significant , >1% chance of winning the superbowl? Would you be able to provide a historical analyais for your candidate elaborating on what makes him have greater odds than McDermott? I'm genuinely curious since you've clearly dedicated a substantial amount of time to the subject matter and the data you present isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for the extention the Bills just doled out. In my opinion, going through all of the effort that you have to discredit the Bills HC is an exercise in futility without providing alternatives to the current state of the Bills organization.
  10. The issue is that if he did have a statistically significant number of games to compare then he would be considered injury prone. There's also loads of other contributing factors that would impact the data (i.e. what/if any other defensive starters also missed time, the strength of the offenses played during those games, how weather may have factored into games, etc.) It's just too hard to accurately quantify an individual players contribution to overall team performance. I look at it as a a big hit to the Bills defense but McDermott will change things up to scheme around losing Edmunds
  11. Honestly, my wife and I occasionally have friction about different issues and at times (I specifically) need space. It's a fact of human nature that you're not always going to see eye to eye with someone else, especially when there's change involved, and people just process things differently. At this point it seems more like something to fill the airwaves than anything remotely substantial. The people who are concerned about it are the same people who think the Bills are gonna fall to the bottom of the AFCE.
  12. That's actually a pretty impressive statistical drop-off showing how much Edmunds does impact the defense. It will be interesting to see how the defense responds to his absence. A TD and 40 ypg is nothing to scoff at
  13. I heard rumblings they're calling it the Vishnu formation but I didn't want to post about it because I think that's the Bills secret weapon this year. How many times did we see McKittrick and Gabe try it out last year? The height difference was simply insurmountable...
  14. Apparently that ties the '87 Patriots for the most Qbs to start in a season. (They went 8-7! But missed the playoffs lol) I can't imagine how a modern NFL team would fair under those condition. The game is so nuanced now that having a QB who presumably wasn't on the roster to learn the offense would be a nightmare. Realistically, I'm jaded from the way that last season ended. That being said, I think the Bills have as good a shot as any team to win the Superbowl.
  15. If your not concerned you aren't paying attention. Diggs feud with Allen has come to a climax (since Josh got with Diggs then GF, a local bartender pregnant, so Diggs retaliated by hooking up with @brittwill and Josh found out the night before the Bengals game). This led the team to cancel practice since everyone was butthurt about the whole situation. The roster is currently in shambles because Beane drafted a TE who's role will be almost exclusively to block when their biggest need was at pass catcher and they spent the money they freed up with the Oliver extension on a washed pass rusher instead of Dhop. On top of the fact they decided to pointedly ignore the offense this offseason and also failed to retain Edmunds, I don't see how you can see this offseason as anything other than an abject failure. I'll be surprised if the Bills win even one game this season.
  16. I was actually thinking that. If he hadn't donated anything it definitely would've been bad look, especially if some reporter asked questions about it. I'm happy this man's family is getting so much support from the community. I don't necessarily believe his standing as a superfan makes his family more or less worthy to recieve these donations than others left in similar situations and I also don't believe there's anything inherently good or bad about Tua for donating. He did what he was 'supposed' to do given his standing in society and the way he'd be viewed for his actions. It doesn't personally affect me in any way so my biases towards the Dolphins lead me to view Tua in a less positive light in this situation. It's my opinion that he doesn't particularly care and did what he was 'obligated' to do by our societal standards.
  17. He didn't. He also could have donated anonymously and had potentiailly the same impact on the late man's family. (Although his donation may have spurred others to do the same). Tua has undoubtedly had more of a positive impact on the lives of other people through his donations and charitable works than myself. In this instance I am of the opinion that he could have done more. It's too bad for him that at this point his brain is made of pudding and he plays for the Dolphins. Otherwise he seems like a great guy.
  18. You're right. I did criticize him. I also virtue signaled in my response too. Just a nice double entendre of internet hypocrisy, while I dig my heals in further in what might end up being a bad take
  19. Never once did I imply that Tua has a 'sinister motive', as you describe. So please do not put words in my mouth. I'm glad that Tua donated to this man's family, it's the least he could do for someone who dedicated his life to being a 'Tua superfan' That being said, while I understand that 10k seems like a lot of money to the average person and it can surely help a lot in most instances, (I would imagine that money will help in part to cover funeral costs, but in all likelihood won't be enough to cover all of them) The comparison to an average person(who makes 50k/year) would be donating $100. If someone was a superfan of mine including defending me to my most ardent detractors and others on the internet. I would more than likely donate more than .2% of my annual income to their family. That's just me. What's actually incredible is that someone has an opinion that you disagree with and you're shocked about it.
  20. Well, yeah.. virtue signaling is all the rage now. How else can the world know I'm better than you if I don't donate to these random people and tell you that you're a scumbag if you don't. If Tua actually gave a damn he could easily donate more than 10k. He's just doing it for the optics like everyone else.
  21. I find it hard to disagree with what Simms said. Why should anyone feel obligated to donate money to the family of someone they don't know, who had trashed and bad mouthed others to gain prominence in the social sphere. It's certainly a tragedy that this man died and left behind a mother and 4 children, but that happens every day... that's the unfortunate pact that we all agree to when we're born into this world, whether we like it or not. I mean if someone on the message board here consistently trashed and trolled you i cant imagine that you'd be so becoming upon news of their passing. Granted he is a public figure and his words hold more sway than ours in the general public, but he's still just a human after all and subject to his emotions like the rest of us. Give it a break Bills fans and twitter.. The big news here is that Tua still has a hard time forming complete sentences based off that brief interview. Umm..I think that this, umm... bodes well for the, umm.. Bills
  22. Interesting perspective. I don't disagree with moss. But, I think the plan is to cycle through drafted Rbs every 3-4 and not pay a big 2nd contract for one. Moss and Singletary never did anything expectional, and that was the problem drafting them. They were solid but had a capped potential ceiling. Then again it could have been part of the plan, since the oline was in rough shape at that point. It's impossible to know exactly how all of these moves affected each other I've kind of adopted the Giants as my number 2 team.. I'm excited to see what Daboll has in store for their future
  23. Also, how many great offenses do the Bills play this season? Chiefs, Bengals, Jets (2x), Cowboys, Jags, Dolphins (2x), Chargers... Not many of these project out to low scoring affairs. The Bills are gonna have to outscore some of the top offenses in the league. But, yeah.. let's run the ball more
