  1. I mean I don’t want him to be 50% of the rushing attack going forward.
  2. and Allen doesn’t even need to play that much better - just clean up the turnovers a bit. Dorsey isn’t being “demonized” by anyone but the most deranged of fans. He’s still just in the evaluation phase.
  3. Good thread/poll. I voted Danny Dimes just because I think he’s not good by any stretch but the Giants were kinda walked into that deal with the QB market price being what it is and they didn’t want to start over. But I totally understand @GunnerBill and others arguments about Rodgers as well. And of course, I hope it does blow up in their faces.
  4. This is definitely true. The vast majority of backs probably wouldn’t benefit from a situation where, hypothetically, you gave rookie backs something akin to player option years in years 3, 4, 5. It could benefit the top elite guys that burst on to the league and do great right away, since they could get to FA faster or get bigger, longer extensions from their current teams.
  5. Possibly, but I highly doubt it. Based on his actions since his dismissal, he clearly sees himself as a victim.
  6. Quoting the wrong guy there bud. I didn’t ask that I responded to it.
  7. that’s why I said the rookie term length should be shorter for RBs. The point you’re making about the actual rookie $ scale I’m not following - their playing position doesn’t hurt them there in terms of contract dollars.
  8. missing 6 starts over 4 seasons seems pretty durable to me.
  9. Pollard is playing; he signed his tag. The other 2 can’t be signed by just somebody, they’ve also been tagged.
  10. But the rookie wage scale isn’t prejudiced against running backs, it applies to every position. And it’s not really relevant to what Barkley, Ekeler and Jacobs are talking about.
  11. fitting the Browns are sponsored by adult bum wipes.
  12. Yes - he can only sign on for this year (by signing his tag, which he has not done.) The window for signing a longer term deal is now closed.
  13. are you assuming the Giants will sign him to a deal after this season and immediately trade him? Not sure why’d they do that. Barkley doesn’t have a contract and now can’t sign one until next year.
  14. Same reason they have a rookie minicamp I suppose.
  15. it’s not even that big of a gap for these guys, either: This deal got squashed over $1-$2Million. That’s it.
  16. one could also include Jerry Jones here given the monstrous deal he gave Zeke not too long ago.
  17. yeah haven’t read Gruden’s complaint so I really have no idea what Gruden’s claims are specifically nor would I speculate on his actual chances of winning his suit. I just want him to stick to his guns and not settle. I want all these characters: Rog, Snyder, Allen, Pash etc. in there testifying in open court.
  18. love that helmet but they messed that up bad. Should’ve used the same off-white on the jerseys.
  19. Because teams know the league and its rules favor the passing game, and the fact that passing is simply more efficient than running.
  20. I agree - I suggested it even though it’s a longshot. But it’s something of a solution for these handful of elite backs to consider advocating for instead of just whining and getting into twitter scraps.
  21. The star RBs are never going to get teams to budge on handing out bigger money to veteran backs who are 26-27 years old. The positional value and average career length just isn’t there What would be feasible and fairer to these guys is altering the rookie contract structure for RBs and set their max term lower than other positions. 2 or 3 year rookie terms would allow RBs to get to FA sooner with more of their future value intact. The truly great ones would get more and better offers. All the rest would get what they get or fall by the wayside.
  22. stick em on any TV showing Jets’ games
  23. I wouldn’t put anything past Snyder but I do tend to agree with the ESPN article that he’s primarily looking for indemnification from the league for any further liabilities he many face for his many, many infractions during his time as an owner. The 2nd “independent” investigation into Snyder by Mary Jo White is still looming remember. Goodell is not going to be able to bury its findings like he did with Wilkinsons’. Whatever that report says, and I’m guessing nothing good, Snyder could face a new host of lawsuits and penalties. I think he wants the league to assume those since he’s being such a nice guy and finally agreeing to sell (nevermind the fact that he really did not have a choice at this point.)
  24. are you quoting from msn or is this you? And who exactly is saying Cupp is potentially available at msn?
