  1. No I’m not disagreeing with you or anyone else on the phrasing - it certainly wasn’t “warm.”
  2. well prepare to be disappointed because the COO from over on that side might be taking that role for the Bills too.
  3. I’m not speculating on Terry’s reasoning at all, and I’m not going to based on one phrase in a press statement. I was just commenting on the timing alone - it doesn’t seem that outlandish or suspicious to me. I’m sure the beat reporters and journalists will dig up something to shed light on the exact why.
  4. yeah I guess if there’s no stained dress, it didn’t happen. Doesn’t matter.
  5. there’s no “other people,” there’s the accusers and the accused. They are all parties. You’re not getting it. Don’t use legal terms you don’t know the meaning of.
  6. Jesus. When the accusers themselves are giving their own account of what happened to them, that’s not “information received from other people,” FFS. Where’d you get your law degree? Do they offer refunds?
  7. Just laughing at all the conspiracies in this thread. Now seems like a perfectly logical time for Raccuia to depart - he got his biggest, most important project, the new stadium, over the finish line. Construction’s underway. He’s on to his next thing. can we PLEASE spell the guy’s name right? At least in the title?
  8. That split was negotiated by the players’ representative, their union. The NFL is not a worker cooperative. If you’re arguing it should be, fine. But that’s not particularly realistic or helpful here.
  9. firsthand accounts from alleged victims are hearsay now? Didn’t know they changed the definition. Must’ve missed that.
  10. Yeah I’m sure the multiple reports quoting people who’ve had eyes on the emails and quoted them are all lying or embellishing. That and the fact that Gruden hasn’t denied he wrote what was reported.
  11. yeah it’s a purely theoretical option. It’s not equitable at all and would never fly with the other players.
  12. what exactly is being stretched here? People have seen the emails and quoted them verbatim. If you criticize a black person by referring to the size of their lips, that’s bigoted. If you can’t see or accept that, then that’s obviously a you thing.
  13. I agree. While RB is definitely still an integral offensive position, it’s not a talent scarce position, not by a long shot. Again, these few guys at the top of their position group are pissed and maybe they have some salient points, but they’re fighting against the realities of the NFL economy and the innumerable fellow RBs down in college more than ready to take their jobs.
  14. Micah is an excellent player and an extremely smart guy when it comes to the business of football. He says it succinctly in this thread.
  15. Yes that probably would happen. It’s not anywhere near an ideal solution. Basically these few elite backs are trying to buck the enormous press of the NFL economy as it stands today - it won’t work, and I was just throwing out ideas. no change within the CBA related to rookie scale or terms would ever pass, by the way. It would not be equitable to change the rules for just one position group (even though given the realities of the game, it arguably would be “fairer” to RBs.)
  16. Poking around I guess we’ll see what Allen and the other QBs’ ratings are Friday. Diggs (96) and Von (94), both tied for 4th in their positions got some love.
  17. I mean I don’t want him to be 50% of the rushing attack going forward.
  18. and Allen doesn’t even need to play that much better - just clean up the turnovers a bit. Dorsey isn’t being “demonized” by anyone but the most deranged of fans. He’s still just in the evaluation phase.
  19. Good thread/poll. I voted Danny Dimes just because I think he’s not good by any stretch but the Giants were kinda walked into that deal with the QB market price being what it is and they didn’t want to start over. But I totally understand @GunnerBill and others arguments about Rodgers as well. And of course, I hope it does blow up in their faces.
  20. This is definitely true. The vast majority of backs probably wouldn’t benefit from a situation where, hypothetically, you gave rookie backs something akin to player option years in years 3, 4, 5. It could benefit the top elite guys that burst on to the league and do great right away, since they could get to FA faster or get bigger, longer extensions from their current teams.
  21. Possibly, but I highly doubt it. Based on his actions since his dismissal, he clearly sees himself as a victim.
  22. Quoting the wrong guy there bud. I didn’t ask that I responded to it.
  23. that’s why I said the rookie term length should be shorter for RBs. The point you’re making about the actual rookie $ scale I’m not following - their playing position doesn’t hurt them there in terms of contract dollars.
  24. missing 6 starts over 4 seasons seems pretty durable to me.
  25. Pollard is playing; he signed his tag. The other 2 can’t be signed by just somebody, they’ve also been tagged.
