  1. Problem is there aren’t many alternative FBs floating around nowadays, and even if there were readily available cheaper replacements, none of them would be able to come in off the street after cuts and learn the system and do all the things that Gilliam does for them right away.
  2. 1. yes they serve a purpose: owners can charge a full price ticket to see practice football. 2. yes. You evaluate talent in practice (training camp.) you can also do joint practices with other teams, which everyone already does, and I have no problem with. preseason games probably had their worth, way back in the day. Similar to your appendix. Now they suck and they’re horrible football and they’re are ONLY there so owners can get their home game gates in.
  3. completely against it but I’m one of those that want to see preseason games eliminated altogether.
  4. I think ESPN has been slowly circling the drain for a while now. Rumor has it Bob Iger is also beginning to realize this.
  5. I don’t disagree with that. But the other poster I was replying to saying “they both looked fine. Keep them both,” that wasn’t the case and that isn’t happening.
  6. Keep both on the active roster? No chance. One will be sent to the practice squad sure. Whether or not they stay there or get scooped up is another question.
  7. We won’t know his exact reason unless he decides to talk about it but yeah the OL depth was mostly what I was saying stinks yes.
  8. Can personally attest through my various fantasy leagues - yeah he was very intriguing to a lot of people coming in in ‘19 for Arizona. For whatever reason or reasons his production just never materialized. I hope for his sake and ours that was more of a function of the Cardinals being a joke.
  9. I mean, no one at that end of the roster is truly 100% safe, but yeah I can’t see them cutting him after one year either.
  10. Just in case anyone missed it - from Monday. Dude’s a character. Interview starts at 39:47 mark. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/pardon-my-take/id1089022756?i=1000624355713
  11. Okay thanks I haven’t had it for a few years I totally forgot about the local affiliate stuff they have to follow.
  12. Not sure I follow - why would you need to be in a specific market for sunday ticket?
  13. Well that stinks. Good luck to him
  14. That saintly man or woman as you say would also be more popularly known as a “dupe” or an “easy mark” in today’s society, unfortunate to say.
  15. Except you can be adopted in many, many states over the age of 18, with mutual consent (including Tennessee (since 1949) and Mississippi.)
  16. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32140546/guardian-caps-soft-shelled-football-helmet-covers-effective-limiting-head-injuries there is no long term data on tech that’s been in use for 2-3 years, obviously. They’re called Guardian Caps for the all the non-wannabe comedians out there.
  17. Yeah, he was “basically” adopted - so he got none of the legal benefits of being “legally” adopted…but yeah, as you say, no harm no foul right? (And it’s nothing like common law marriage. Common law marriage literally *IS* marriage in the states that allow it. So that analogy falls out your window and splatters on the pavement immediately.) And then you point out the fact that these people lied about it both in the book (written by Mr. Tuohy’s buddy from high school) and in the movie. Very “peculiar” as you say. I had little doubt of what you are, but thanks for eliminating that.
  18. Who cares? Because it’s possible fraud. And you didn’t read it, because “you don’t have to” - that’s right, mrags knows everything he needs to know about the world. Jesus Christ. It’s always the dumbest people that take these stances, and I can’t say that streak has been broken here.
  19. Exactly. Guess the prevailing opinion in this case at this board is “he got got” and it’s all good. Guess his white saviors get to profit on the story more than him, even though without Oher and his talent and subsequent success there is no story at all. This place surprises me more and more every day. And mostly not in a good way.
  20. yeah so his background allows people to allegedly defraud him. You’re on a roll recently.
  21. This barely readable crusade of yours is getting very old.
