  1. I love how this all went down. My #1 takeaway from last week is that the team, especially Allen, just looked like they were trying to be perfect. It looked like he was in his head, focusing on the gameplan and not screwing up more than anything. You didn't see that competitive juice. I love how coach recognized that and seemingly put a stop to it. Great stuff.

I think the @Dallas game is one where we lose by 25 points. I don’t think the cowboys are that good but at home on a short week on thanksgiving...Id be more surprised if we won that game then any game we have won in years. Not saying Dallas is the best team left to play. They aren’t. Just everything that comes with that game. People think we are going to be in it...I’m expecting it to be over midway through the 2nd quarter. I hope I’m wrong obviously

Cowboys usually start slow. This could play into the Bills' hands.

  3. Brown is really good. He's the #1 on this team, but I think in a perfect world it would be best for him to be your #2. He hasn't shown an ability to make contested catches or make big #1 receiver plays. He catches the ball when he's open, which is great, but he's not dynamic in the air or after the catch, two traits you typically look for in a #1.

I think using his stats as evidence that he's a #1 is a bit misguided. Last year, some people used Zay's stats in comparison to other #2s to show that he was ostensibly a legit #2. I prefer to go with the eyeball test and what I see in terms of dynamic playmaking ability.

Most teams didn’t show up to Colin Kaepernick’s workout

As of this morning, a large majority of NFL teams were expected to have representatives in Atlanta to watch Colin Kaepernick work out. By the time the workout had been moved an hour away amid sniping between the league and Kaepernick’s representatives, most teams opted out.

According to multiple reporters on the scene, the majority of NFL teams chose not to attend the rescheduled workout, which Kaepernick had in front of the media and on camera at a local high school instead of behind closed doors at the Falcons’ facility.

If you think about it, they all probably flew in and were taking public transportation to the stadium. With the last-minute switch, they would have to rent cars for the hour drive and it would probably affect their scheduling on the back end. Very understandable that so many teams backed out.

Yeah, well, what did it get him besides notice from the league and a fine?

He can get wrapped up in a chokehold, practically have his jersey stripped off him, even get bear-wrestled to the ground,  The Zebra watches and smiles.

Nice work Jerry.  Good job taking it to that ref!  You showed him!  Yeah!

I suspect the person who was irritated was Coach McDermott and he had Mr Hughes into the woodshed for a "come to Jesus" moment.

    Hughes likely still sore

Which interview or show, got a link?

Dawkins said kind of similar things about focus on Miami.  I think McDermott (or someone) may have suggested a canned response from players to the effect "thinking about Miami" "on to Miami" etc, which is smart.

See above.  He would find that task easier, if the refs weren't looking in the other direction and smiling at the sky whenever he's held.

It's on Bills Mobile -- brief Friday PC in the field house yesterday

Part of me keeps hoping they have been holding out on us for the stretch run, silly though it may be. But as long as Allen keeps developing chemistry with these guys and gets the chance to do his thing instead of playing ultra conservative we can get it done. Just get to the playoffs.

Teams don't do that. They put their best foot forward every Sunday, with few exceptions.

  7. Myles Garrett should be banned for life.

Having said that, I have a feeling the following will be lost in the discussion: Mason Rudolph did commit the first non-football act of aggression there. Let's not pretend that didn't happen. It in no way justifies what followed, but it nonetheless occurred and should not be ignored just because Rudolph was brutalized. He should be suspended a game.

I think you need to look up the definition of nuance.  It does not mean a bad idea with no facts of common sense.

Again,  please tell me one team in history that made a K their priority when building a team over QB.  Just one otherwise I am done with the trolling.

I think you need to look up the definition of trolling! That term gets thrown around on here for anything people disagree with. It's okay to just disagree without calling the person a troll or insulting them (not saying you did the latter, btw). No trolling intended!

Any analysis can find one data point.  Overall the question was how do you build a team.  That means how do you draft and allocate free agency spending.  So in your world you would take the best kicker and punter (2 positions by the way) before the best QB.  This is just wrong and no one would follow such a model.  Please show me one team built with a K or P ahead of QB.

I'll reply to you and @BringBackOrton at the same time. In my mind, kicker is just something I'd take care of right off the bat to make sure I got a great one. It's not that I think a kicker is more valuable than a quarterback. I would just start with a kicker because that at least gives me some baseline of competence. Admittedly, I realize that the nuances in my thinking might not be obvious. ☺

  10. Can we not do the "please stop" thing as if this is some kind of a bizarre contention? Great kickers make big kicks, which makes a difference toward wins and losses. It's hard to mask a bad kicker. I don't have a chance to do the research right now, but I'd wager if you looked back across the league this season, you'd see MANY outcomes that would have been different if a guy had made a kick or kicks.
