  1. I was joking the Harbaugh must have gotten a call from Denver, watching that Michigan bowl game.. not shocked, but a little surprised if that really was the case.
  2. He’s been great in bursts this year, I’m not sure I think he’s the very best at his spot, but he’s right in the mix. I would like to see more consistency from him. Some games you hear his name 15x and others he’s completely invisible. I understand that’s scheme specific, but he is the key to this D at this point. When he’s not dominating, the team is getting B word slapped. He’s basically the Allen of the D, hope they both bring the big game mentality for tonight and the rest of games they play this year.
  3. I do see what you are saying there. I don’t disagree with you on any of what you are saying. I think we are looking at things a bit differently, you are looking at the player and you are right on, I’m focused on the situation. I see 3 things about him in LA that stick out to me and it’s not necessarily anything to do with him. 1) McVay seems to like him and I think he can get the best of what he does, also I don’t see the current WRs he has as being game breaking outside guys, they all really belong as super high end slot guys, meaning I think that’s exactly where Mayfield can thrive. Look back at Jarvis Landry vs OBJ in CLE. 2) Stafford has been on a steep decline for the last few years, the numbers may not show it as much, but he’s not what he was. Kupp made him look much better than he is, much like Megatron did. They will regret holding out hope for him to return to 2017 form. 3) Like him or hate him, Baker has talent. Consistency is not something anybody would accuse him of. I question how long it will take LA to get anybody in there that would be as talented (granted he’s flawed), as Mayfield.
  4. Well, interesting to see KC playing Saturday, if we happen to lose tonight and they lose on Saturday, the Bills can take the 2 seed, otherwise the Bills can rest their starters against NE because it won’t matter at all. Kind of nice for us to know the situation.
  5. As much I agree completely with what you are saying, he’s in a really tough spot to expect much from him. He’s got very little to work with out there and very little time in the system as a whole. I think he could actually be everything Stafford was for them last year, which isn’t saying a ton, but he could start and do pretty well in that system. He’s streaky, that’s certain, but I think their best shot is to ditch Stafford, eat the dead cap and let Baker play on a prove it deal.
  6. The official term is called a “Russell Wilson”. As pedestrian as these 2 QBs are, I’m convinced there’s not a worse QB in the league than Wilson.
  7. They won’t be trading him, they will be cutting him before February 15th, they can basically walk away from him for next to zero cap hit. The only reason Carr is on the bench is an injury would have guaranteed him next year’s salary and locked them in.
  8. I would rather see them make the playoffs than NE only in that they might have a snowball’s chance in hell of beating KC / Cincy if Tua gets back and Hill/waddle come through for them. I’d rather deal w them any day vs either of those teams.
  9. Just because Edmunds is better than the trash behind him does not mean he’s a genuine impact guy. He’s been much better this year for sure.
  10. I take it as they have watched the tape and realize the Bills STILL have to sell out to defend the run and you can’t do that against a team with 3 big time weapons at WR. You also can’t just let a guy like him have an easy time or he’ll ruin your day. This is exactly why the Bills need a true #2 (1A) WR. You can double Diggs and shut down the run and then it’s all on Allen. You can’t do that against a better built team, like Cincinnati. I would argue they have the best skill position team and one of the best QBs in the game, their line is weak. The Bills have 1 legitimate weapon aside from their QB. KC is down on talent this year, but appears to have a more explosive and consistent run game, plus Kelce and the better OL in front of the best QB in the game. The Bills will go as far as Allen can take them, it’s going to be tough to win the AFC, personally I don’t feel the Bills have enough fire power to do it unless Beasley finds some magic in a bottle and reverts back to 2020 form. Had Miller and Hyde been able to be on the field, it’s a bit different, but current state, I don’t see it. This game is huge, a week to rest up and not have to worry about a loss is a monster advantage, especially in a super competitive situation like the AFC playoffs will be. The #1 seed, whoever ends up with it, should be the favorite to win the conference, you really don’t want to have to face any of the teams that will sneak in the wild card, they can all burn you.
  11. 2017 was a Whaley draft. You’re dramatically over rating several of the guys as well. Cook a top RB? Really? C’mon man.
  12. 100%. Had Allen ended up being Mitch Trubiski, McBeane is gone. The drafts have been absolutely devoid of impact players. They have scraped together a number of ok guys, but if you take away Allen, the whole team would be flat on its face. A lot of the FA signings are just as bad or worse than the drafts as well. I feel Beane is DRAMATICALLY over rated in talent evaluation. somebody who gets it. The drafting, aside from Allen has been mediocre. IDGAF how many guys manage to stick in the NFL, they are replacement level guys, you get over the hump by having difference makers on a rookie deal, we have exactly zero of them aside from the 5th year option on Edmunds and I feel reallly dirty even calling him an impact guy.
  13. Unfortunately, WRs are going to be a hot commodity for a couple years, contracts exploded for Vets and young guys are producing early returns. Teams are going to have to take them early, there’s no budget for a 40M QB and 2WRs at 22M+ if you have half the cap tied to 3 people, you won’t have a team.
  14. Well, the 2023 salary is fully guaranteed for injury, so if they send him out there for nothing and he gets hurt, they are in the hook. He has a no trade clause, so he’s going to get cut between now and 2/14/23. They are out basically completely free.
  15. This is the truth. He’s a solid #3 with extra potential, not a bust, just not what irrational Bills fans wanted him to be after seeing one big game last year.
  16. Don’t worry about it, he’ll face those teams again and somebody will take it upon themselves to handle the situation. At that point we need to do what the mafia does and pay that fine for them.
  17. Maybe this year’s focus needs to be getting their heads out of their @$$es earlier in the game. To be down in 10 games is an indicator your defense gave up points early and often because the O was on fire the first drive for the early part of the year.
  18. They really aren’t playing their “worst” right now, they have been competitive, it’s just largely against better teams that have playoff hopes and they are no longer catching people off guard. They aren’t very talented, ex one of their “best” WRs was cut from the Bills and the Bills are really weak at WR.
  19. They have Maholmes.
  20. I can’t see Jimmy G getting that big of a contract, but the rest of it makes too much sense. I could see them coughing up 30M - ish a year, but not much more.
  21. The Jets are going to be a pain in the @$$ for a few years, the Phins are pretty good all around, with a healthy Tua or a decent game manager, they are going to be in games. The Pats need to hire a GM and re-build. The Bills have to add some weapons for Allen. The Bills will win the division virtually every year as it stands, bc Allen.
  22. There’s not a lot they can do, they guaranteed a fortune, they are screwed.
  23. There’s NO way, the Saints let him go to a division rival.
  24. One minute this team needs a RB, one game later, “best in the league?” I remember my first beer.
  25. It would be a tough move w his contract, but technically doable, especially with a little restructuring and a post June 1 designation. He has a lot of option money coming on that deal, not that Mayfield is any guarantee, but with what Stafford has shown, it might be best to give Baker a decent signing bonus and low salaries for 23 and 24, let the hit happen on Stafford and be free of him.
