  1. I’ll go on record now, this QB class is 2018 all over again. You decide who you think is more Allen between Levis and Richardson. I won’t be surprised if all of them are busts. Also, Hooker may get taken late in the 1st like Lamar and have the most immediate impact.
  2. It seems like the Packers are backed into a corner here. Not much of a market for a 40 yr old QB that debate’s retirement every season, w a 50M contract no less. They want him gone and want a big return from the ONLY buyer. They would be better off seeing if they can’t squeeze a second out of the Jets this year.
  3. I recall this being a big thing for Zac Wilson.
  4. Contrary to what many people seem to think, I think the Ravens have played this Lamar scenario almost perfectly. Once he refused to extend, they have used their leverage and won. A guy all about his money isn’t going to let 32M get away, he will play this year. You can tag him 2 more years in a row for less than you offered the idiot guaranteed. All the risk falls on him.
  5. I was hoping to have him land here on a reasonable deal and try to establish himself as a worthwhile risk for teams again. I guess he decided to take 15M to the bank and not risk it, I don’t blame him. Maybe the Ravens are over paying him so he can step in and advise Jackson to quit being a dumb ass and sign a deal. This has to be a big part of their thinking. This is the attempt to give their questionable passer a big time target and see if he can do something with it, like the Diggs for Allen move. I’d say this is probably more of an “Ok Lamar, show us you are what you think you are” move. Or it turns into a “is Huntley our future?” move. Either way, it solidifies their weaponry enough to judge a QB if the guy stays healthy. You have Andrews, OBJ, and some decent young guys, with a legit run game, if you can do it with that, you aren’t THE answer at QB. That’s more than most great QBs have to work with and they get it done.
  6. Von Miller, already a failed GM.
  7. I hope he just uses players to their strengths instead of ramming square pegs into round holes. Lrr we TD Elam play some man, Groot allowed to kick in for pass rush etc.
  8. Edmunds; no reason to use the 5th year and guarantee the contract because the franchise tag would have been only slightly more and would have given you the leverage to re-sign him, had he shown he was worth a new contract. Instead, he plays the 5th year on the option, has a great year and walks away for nothing. Had you not used the option, he could have tested the market and found he was going to get maybe 12M a year (remember this is before his breakout year and before salaries went stupid), you could have locked him up right there and kept him. Or by using the non-exclusive tag, had him back for a year at virtually the same money OR gotten a guaranteed pick for him. Instead there’s a gaping hole in the D and you are playing a game of don’t sign anybody trying to get a non-guaranteed 3rd round pick. Oliver; all things the same or at very least you wouldn’t be paying a guy 4M more than market value this year and have more room to move around in FA. The 5th year option is a sucker’s bet. You take all the risk early and expose yourself to more on the backside. If you ever actually use it, you have drafted a guy that isn’t worth extending early, but you give him a chance to blow up and walk away or you are overpaying for them in the last year.
  9. If there had been a disruptive force on the DL, there’s a chance of a ring in 21. The downside to bad drafting is having to sign people at a premium to get results you could have for a low cost for 4-5 years. This the problem Beane faces now, poor drafting and poor many of 5th year options have cost the team a lot of talent and money. If we are being objective, Beane has failed miserably on the draft/5th year option leverage. He’s misplayed all of the 5th year options with the exception of Allen where he did leverage a deal that allows the team to get a decent deal and Allen to get paid.
  10. If Oliver was at that level they would t have needed to sign Miller and it’s pretty likely there would already be a ring on his finger from 2021.
  11. That sounds more accurate, or maybe we take the draft an MLB back to back years in the third round only to find out both are mediocre after two years of trying and then move to drafting one in the second round that’s admittedly not a starter, but could work in certain packages. We have a good start with the undersized/slow one on board already, now we just need a slow and steady thumper with no thump and we are on our way.
  12. He’s already lost more than he’ll ever recover. I’ll go with idiot, instead of clown, how’s that?
  13. You guy are insane. He’s a former league MVP and at very least can keep you remotely competitive in a game if he has to come in. To think he’s not a MASSIVE upgrade over Kyle Allen is a joke. He’s a big personality, not saying he wouldn’t be a problem at some point, but pure talent, HELL Yes to him. I like Kyle Allen, he’s flashed enough to have a job in the NFL, but I’d rather never see him on the field for the Bills. Hopefully JA stays healthy all year, but I’d feel way better about Newton, than KA and it’s not close.
  14. I can’t see Cincy or the Vikes letting Chase or Jefferson go, too good, young, near impossible to replicate what they do for the team. Cincy could pull off a trade for Higgins rather than deal w the contract, which would ultimately be great for them, cost controlled, good player, 2nd round investment, trade for a 1.
  15. I don’t mind that, but I wouldn’t give up a first next year for him in the deal, upto, but no more than a second.
  16. Priorities are winning a CHAMPIONSHIP, rigors season is just entertainment. This regime is not going to get it done.
  17. Now THAT is a way to shut down all the non-sense about Lamar being a top 10 QB. The other crazy part, he has one season with over 4K yards COMBINED, rushing/passing. He’s a threat, but is he really that impactful? I don’t know. Believe it or not, I have had internet clowns argue with me that he’s averaged 4K yards because they want to project his stats over 17 games and determine that’s what he “would have” had if he was healthy…. Wow.. just wow.. never mind that he’s had one season in 5 where he’s actually gotten (barely) 4K yards, but he “averages” it. I’m guessing that might be his “agent” lol. To your point, the top QBs pass for more yards than he gains combined. If you look at the numbers, Allen actually destroys him, but then there’s ball the security argument too.
  18. Tough place to be in, I want them to win it all, I’m also quite sure this regime will not get it done. So it may require losing to finally win.
  19. I know, which is why I wouldn’t actually mind a complete collapse. This system isn’t good enough to win it all.
  20. Guess you weren’t around for the 20 years before Allen huh? This team is a dumpster fire without him. The two are not that different at all.
  21. Rapp is good insurance for Hyde. Hamlin was not great before, I wouldn’t count on him for anything to be honest. I don’t see them adding anybody else though.
  22. We still need a TE1 so there’s that. WR2 would be nice too. So long as Davis isn’t the second option, I don’t care.
  23. He’d be a nice back-up.
  24. If Allen had busted, this whole regime would be gone. Without Allen this is a 6-7 win team AT BEST. Homer much?
  25. If there were not a lot of other concerns on the roster and you didn’t have 3 guys who could all start, then sure. I’d love to have somebody better as a back-up at #4, but let’s be real, that’s not the priority.
