  1. I can’t believe how many people have him so much credit for doing his job. An athlete added strength and size while not running 10 miles a day in interval sprints, imagine that. He’s an NFL player, unfortunately, not a lot more. I said too many times last off-season, you can’t count on a guy who’s never done it before, but they ran with it. It did not work.. oh well
  2. Obviously Beane can’t say what he really wants to in public. Davis is a decent player with potential to be very good. That said, they bet on him and lost last year. They have to try for more, but if they can’t find it, you don’t want to say, “we have nothing but Diggs”.
  3. The Rams went all in and now have few picks and a salary cap mess, plus a bunch of older guys. Donald has talked about retirement multiple times, Stafford should retire, they have no weapons on O outside of Kupp at this point.. it ain’t great. If I we’re running the show there, I’d go all out this year. Dump Stafford, sign Baker for a short deal, try to get Donald to retire or get traded, Wags is already gone. Maybe MAYBE even move Kupp for picks. They need to re-stock the cupboards.
  4. Would have been nice to have just picked him instead of trading up for Sammy.
  5. Look at what Reid did for the career of every QB he ever had. The guy took the offenses he had to the top of the league every year. The teams always were very competitive, now he has the most talented QB to work with and he’s over the top, it’s no surprise. The problem with a defensive coach and a great QB is the fact Allen can make you look great and boom there goes your coordinator. Now you have to hire a new coach to remake the whole thing. With the head coach as the offensive mastermind, the team can be amazing and they don’t lose the scheme behind it. The same SHOULD be true for a defensive coach, yet when it counts, our D has folded like origami. People are praying the D will change here and THATS your head coach’s bread and butter. They have spent a ton on the D and is consistently destroyed by playoff teams. Somebody should be held accountable and I see great progress with firing the Safties coach, it’s clear he’s why Po got hurt, Hyde missed most of the season and I think if you watch in slow motion you can actually see him turning Higgins should to hit Hamlin too. Good riddance.
  6. I’m all for trading Oliver, but there’s ZERO chance you are getting a 2nd round pick back for a guy that’s not impactful enough that you want to keep him, on a 1 year deal, worth 10M, guaranteed, non-negotiable. A 5th would be a win.
  7. If they did make a trade for him, it would likely have to be with a new contract. He’s due 10M this year in salary with nothing left after that. The only way it might make sense is to do something like a new deal w converting this year’s salary to signing bonus, add 2 more years with low base and throw another 6-10M in signing bonus on there. Spread the hit out. I could see Tenn making a move, by trading/cutting him it saves 6M in cap space. Not sure I’d be willing to give up a pick and that financial commitment for a high mileage back. This is true, he’s very susceptible to being flattened if you get to him before he gets going. Once in motion, it’s hard to handle, but he doesn’t run like a real power back.
  8. Yes. Time value of money.
  9. You and me both, I got roasted every single time I pointed out Diggs was the only guy w 1000 yards in a season ever in their career and that Davis would have to step up to a new role for it to work.. but he worked so hard in the off-season, he couldn’t fail. Welp, he did.
  10. Jackson has officially proven himself an idiot. Consider this, had Jackson been intelligent enough to take a deal like Allen’s already, he would have already had 40-50M more in his bank, with 100 more in guaranteed money locked in, potential to average 50M a year. Instead he chose to play out 5 years on a rookie deal, trying to lock in the same money he would have gotten 2 years earlier AND the way the contracts work out, the money is almost fully guaranteed anyway because teams have to convert salary to bonus( straight cash), to free up cap space. He would have been far better off paying an agent, but he saved Pennie’s to lose dollars.
  11. Seems impossible, just last year the Bills had a “stacked” WR room.. or so I was told.
  12. For Zay Jones 2.0? Nah. 3rd at most.
  13. Aside from the fact they do absolutely nothing in a similar fashion, you are spot on.
  14. So many guys get passed over for years, he’s held on this long, he may get a real shot and make something of himself yet. Hodgins just needed a chance to see the field and looked ok. Fred Jackson struggled to make it work for years, etc.
  15. Not a single one that’s actually tough to replace.
  16. Hope he does well and get a shot to prove himself in camp.
  17. I’m convinced Beane had been caught on film doing something unmentionable in Oregon and the judge was Bernard’s dad, this was the punishment. Vader Esch would be a good stop gap at what should be a very reasonable price. Along with having an offense that works with anybody calling the plays bc of JA, so every time your offense has a great season, your Offensive coaching talent is poached and your D remains stagnant.
  18. Who was supposed to be starting? Couldn’t have been the All-pro that went down with an injury.. he was a back-up, forced into action.
  19. Daboll knows his coverage skills, He had to scheme against him every day in practice. The Giants are OUT on this one.
  20. At no point was Jackson starting out of anything but desperation. Don’t get me wrong, I like him, but he’s not special in the least bit.
  21. No way you tag him, the basis of his extension is then directly tied to the 14M number. What’s the best bargain you are going to drive? Hey JP, take 2 years for 18M and we won’t “force” you to take $14.4 M guaranteed this year.. riiight.
  22. Always find it humorous when people see 3 guys who can’t separate themselves from one another, who end up starting because of injury and inept roster management, and think we now have 3 starters. This goes right back to the old Parcells’ saying “if you have two, you don’t have one.” Or in this case, if you have 3, you should pray they don’t all get exposed in the same game. As of today, you MIGHT be able to pull a 3rd for Elam, a 5th for Benford and a 6th for Jackson. Obviously Elam is off the table, Benford has more value as a possible starting S for you and Jackson is decent cheap depth. At some point, you can hope one turns into a Levi Wallace type and gets a decent FA offer and gives you a shot at a comp pick. He got on the field and proved you didn’t really want him there.
  23. This is the guy they wanted when they took Bernard or whatever that wasted 3rd round pick was called from last year.
  24. We saw 1 punt that would go down as the longest in the NFL this year.. yep, that’s an indication of talent, not to mention all the bombs he cut loose in college. How have we NOT seen talent? You’re flat out trolling.
  25. All things considered, I’d have him back in camp this year. He’s talented, that we have seen. The case is going no where, he’s not being charged criminally. He hooked up w a girl who lied. In California, shockingly, they have protection against the accused if the plaintiff mis-leads them. I don’t see anybody losing sleep over a guy who got caught doing the same thing at least half the team has or would have done in the same spot.
