Are we more deserving of the SB hype this year than last?
DCofNC replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the rookies don’t play bc McD won’t let them, you aren’t getting anything. -
12 of 32 2020 5th yr options picked up. Bills 100% since 2017

But, you have to declare the option after year 3 so that’s not really part of the deal. -

The 5th year option is fools gold. It should never be used other than extreme cases where you cannot work out an extension. If the player is good enough to warrant that kind of money, you sign him immediately to a long term deal, if he’s not, he should be walking out the door. Letting a player play out the 5th year has little to no advantage to the club. Either A) the play great and your long term deal price goes way higher. B) They play to the value of said contract, which means you would have had them under that cap hit on an extension anyway. C) They suck/get injured and you paid for nothing. if ANYONE plays on a 5th year deal, it should be an exception, not the rule. The fact the Bills have cornered themselves by using it so many times and lost on the deal in every one of them, should be more concerning. Celebrate, what you want, but this is about as exciting as the franchise tag is to players. -
Concerning, don’t need another collision w his arm.

McD is going to have to let rookies play if we are winning that many. If you subtract Kindcaid and O’Torrence, the offense didn’t gain a lot. Hopefully, the D will be better, but pass rush and MLB are a major concern/unknown. Dorsey is also going to have to evolve. There’s a lot of factors at play. If the rookies are hits, the team looks pretty good. If even 1 of the first 3 rounds struggles and doesn’t win a major role, I have sincere concerns this team could finish 3rd in the division and out of the playoffs. -

Wild card. -
Under 4k in a 17 game season is less than 235 yards a game. I don’t see Allen going for that little and the Bills winning on average.
-
If Kincaid breaks that record, we are retooling the entire receiver corps next year. I see zero chance of it. If he breaks 40 catches, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Bills' receiving corps getting bigger for playoff football

It’s about time they realize the finesse guys win regular season games, but when the going gets tough, the bully’s win. Rex was a bumbling fool, but he at least had the right concept. I’m really happy to see the direction they are heading. I wish Beane had the balls to fire McD and bring in an aggressive coach too, but one step at a time. A guy that physically imposing that can’t beat up on lower level competition, stands little chance of ever seeing a snap on O, he’s here for special teams. -
Analyzing 10 years of first round TE production
DCofNC replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn’t expect eye popping numbers from Kindcaid. My real hope is he makes the passing game better in December when the 50 yard pass is tougher and everyone knows it. Relying on one WR, who they had running deeper routes, when the OL was failing, in garbage conditions, required perfection. My hope is the game plan can shift a bit and we can get those 5-10 yard passes that just move the ball. Coupled with a little help blocking in the run game and let’s not forget they could also use Knox in a similar fashion. It might make life easier when it matters. That said, if he gets more than 40 catches this year, I’ll be pleasantly surprised. -
RD 7, Pick 252: CB Alex Austin, Oregon State
DCofNC replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just don’t get the hype over picks past round 3, maybe 4 for this team. There is almost 0 chance they make the roster, so it’s all pretty much “Meh”, if they stick cool, if not, can’t say I’m surprised. This roster is pretty good, top to bottom. I would love to see a few positions have more talent at the top end, but to expect a late round pick to unseat almost anybody on this roster is getting your hopes up for a lot of nothing. -
Some insight on Bills first round and how it went down
DCofNC replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only thing that really matters is if Kincaid works out, if not, it still sucks. Knowing how hyped up that Cowboys draft room usually is when they make a pick, something definitely didn’t go the way they wanted. -

Seeing how deflated that Cowboy draft room looked during the process of the first round pick, it certainly appeared they lost out on their guy and had to settle. Honestly, it was glorious. -
Small theory about our 1st and 3rd picks vis a vis USC
DCofNC replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
The giant red flags for him are 1) lack of experience. 2) Lower level competition 3) inconsistent performances. I think he’s a bit of a project, the opposite of Knox who had barely my receptions, this guy is basically a large slot WR who will need to learn to block. -

I do NOT understand that pick, especially with the fact they spent pretty large on a RB in FA. In the old days, I’d just say it’s the Lions being the Lions.. at this point, it’s just WTF?! Wow that was a pretty good draft and the ratings were really solid. I give the QB assessments a bit of a pass as they are easily the most likely to struggle to translate. -
Need some beef in the middle, but we shall see.

Solid “Meh”, hopefully the raw physical skills can translate w McDermott coaching him up. -
Not exactly a ringing endorsement haha. Who knows, sometimes athletes “get it” later on/ or a good coach brings it out. I don’t have much hope of him making the roster this year at least. 4 of the WR positions are pretty much set in stone and it’s arguable that’s 5.. tough team to make from late in the draft, even if some of us are less than thrilled with the talent level.

Nice size, guess we’ll see what he’s got in camp. Going to be tough to crack the roster this year.

The Battle of a lifetime: Klein, Spector, Dodson, Bernard, Williams
DCofNC replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
McClappy threw Edmunds out there as a rookie, I don’t think it’s out of question he would if Williams shows he can make the calls/plays. I would assume Milano will be the play called this year, but we’ll see. -

Hey it worked out well at RB, all you have to do is wait another year after this one and draft one in the second round and still not play the guy and hope it works out the season after that. -
Quick, without googling, who is the KC MLB?
