Game Day Thread? Bills @ Steelers 8/19
DCofNC replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sincerely hope they can find a way to get a RT in the building. WRs, RBs still look like Chit. Still no answer for stopping the run. If this game is any indication, this should be the last season for McBean and co. It won’t be, but it should be. -
Isabella shows moves, will he make the roster?
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Based on last game alone, I find it hard to believe he’s no the starting in the slot come week one. That said, it was one game and I have literally zero clue what’s happened in practice. -
He should never have become the GM as well. His drafting has been abysmal. The team is devoid of talent and can’t outperform if without the great QB. There’s no one to blame but him for the lack of talent and he can’t coach it past the great QBs without one. Yeah… we’ll that’s like, your opinion man.

The Ringer ranking of Receiver Cores - Opinions???
DCofNC replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s just an average guy out there. Let’s be honest and not frame it for more than it is. He has great tools, the end result has been average. Last year he was 14th in TE receiving yards, the difference between 14 and 30 is 110 yards. The difference to number 1 is 800 yards 😂. Even #2 is 400 more yards. He’s not somebody you even give a second thought to, any starter in the NFL is expected to have about the same numbers. -

Knox has potential, to quote Bill Parcells , “potential means you haven’t done *****”. I want Knox to be Kelce, he’s got the tools, but whether it’s truly bad hands or lack of focus, he’s just not reliable as a receiver. He’s a badass once he has the ball in his hands, but that’s pretty rare. I think what we saw in college was more of an indication of his receiving skills than we wanted to admit. Yes, he makes some AWESOME plays, but he’s just as likely to drop a routine ball. I genuinely thought after his rookie year, he was going to make the jump to an elite type of guy, he’s basically a solid starter, more of an old school type of TE. Not a bad thing, but not a genuine difference maker. -

Seems the rest of the world is catching on to what I’ve been saying. It’s Diggs and a bunch of JAGs. Knox is not a great receiver and hasn’t been used as one much either. -
Cowboys and Zack Martin reach agreement on a reworked deal
DCofNC replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought Jerry would never re-negotiate with multiple years left. Guess that’s another BS lie from him. Good for Martin, he’s a great player, deserves to be paid what he’s worth and it puts more strain on their cap, so even better. -
Right? There were a couple of Kyle Allen throws that got there faster.. I mean they were 6 yards shorter, but still alarming.

Josh Allen: Assistant Offensive Coordinator?
DCofNC replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good way to keep continuity in the O scheme. He’s going to keep getting coordinators promoted ( another reason the HC should be the offensive guru), this way at least Allen will have a sense of what the scheme is to keep it all rolling. -
Ezekiel Elliot to Pats on 1 year up to $6 million deal
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Pats are going to do what you have to do, go exactly the opposite of the rest of the league. They will beat you down with the run game and limit the snaps of the opposing offense. It’s brilliant to cover for their lack of talent. -
Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?
DCofNC replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Way too costly, he’s the best back up in the league by a WIDE margin and should be starting somewhere, I’d love to have him, but it’s not going to fit on the money side. I could absolutely see them trading him to a team that has an injury in the season for a 3rd or higher. With Hill, they can get away without a “true” back-up. I think Jameis is either content to stay with them or has a ***** agent or both. There’s no way he should be in the position he’s in. He could easily win the job for at least 5 teams if it were a fair competition. He should have been begging for a trade to Washington, he would give them a WAY better shot to win, unless Howell is something we don’t see yet. Honestly, the Saints would have been smarter (money wise) to let him take the reins this year, I like Carr, but I don’t think he wins them any more than Winston would. He would win the job or be equal to or better than the options in Indy, Vegas, Giants, Tampa, Seattle, Green Bay, etc., virtually all of them are paying more for nothing. There’s no reason for him to be where he is. -
Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?
DCofNC replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, but Kyle looks lost, I don’t care how physically gifted he is, he looked awful. There’s zero upside to him, he’s had his chance to start and couldn’t get it done, he’s a back up, you pick the best one to take over in a case of emergency, and he’s not it. -

I would love to have Mills, that’s a guy that should get another shot to start. The Texans gave him the ole Carr treatment. -
Guys that surprised me: Cook looked sharp, hope that’s the norm. Isabella, looked like a Legit slot WR, if that’s what he’s doing all the time, I want him on this team and the “starting” slot guy. There’s a lot of young WRs with potential, from that game, it’s going to be interesting to see who can stick. Barkley is HEAD and shoulders above Allen, I hope they make the right call in who is on the game day roster. Boogie looked good. Of Note: Shakir.. man so good and then the drop. He’s a guy I want to love, but I worry about. His routes looked great, couple real good catches and then the dump.. wtf. Not much pressure from the starting front 4, I know it’s vanilla, but come on guys.

Cook looked good yesterday, happy to see him working the ball inside with reasonable success. The bounce he took at the goal line was nice, that looked like an inside run from the blocking, nothing there, saw it and made it happen. I’m encouraged and I’ve been a hater of that pick.

Is the MLB Competition Over Before It Started?
DCofNC replied to JackKemp's topic in The Stadium Wall
A small statue , but a statue nonetheless. -
Absolutely agree, be it him, or the game plan, he holds the ball way too long, especially when it’s obvious the O-Line is being eaten alive. Example, Bengals playoff game. What the Bengals did the year before with Burrow hitting the 3rd step and the ball coming out, managed to cover their line deficiencies, until he had to force the ball down field late in games, then the poop stains showed. The Bills need to have a quick passing game on tap at very least. I don’t know if what we saw last year was JA or Dorsey, but I sure hope they get it remedied this year.
-
I hope Brown can be healthy and take the job, that said, I feel much better knowing Snell is there if he can’t. He’s not dominant by any measure, but he’s better than we’ve had as and alternative since Williams had his one good year.
-
I’d love to have that DC, with any team he can field, stop Allen when he needs to score 😂. I’ll give it to them, with the game on the line, if you take away the threat of running, Lamar scares nobody. Hurts will take it over your head, so if you can stop that too, then maybe you can say he won’t get you (good luck with all that BTW). With Allen, the only way you beat that animal is to bulldoze the line into his lap, which can happen, but as a passer, he’ll still destroy you. The guy doesn’t throw over 4k yards every year by mistake…
-
If the decision genuinely comes down to run support, we should support running this coaching staff out of town. My read is Elam isn’t a great practice player and McD can’t let that go.
-
I’m excited to watch the Ravens this year, people hate in Roman, but everywhere he leaves the “star” running QB struggles to do anything in a conventional offense. I expect the trend to continue and they are now LOCKED into Jackson.
-
I’m so confident in him, I’ll take him in the last round of my fantasy draft, 2 rounds after Harris. I think he has slightly more upside than a second kicker, so I’m willing to roll the dice.

Nailed it. If it wasn’t for Daddy’s name, he wouldn’t even have made college ranks. He got a job at Cuse with a buddy, Buffalo dragged them up to a league they didn’t belong in. Most Bills fans couldn’t wait to get rid of them and then the dumpster fire of Florida signed them, more good ole boys club BS (yay for us), they had a singular good season before all the weapons left. They then ran that team into the ground. Hacket managed to fail his way up and become buddies with Rodgers, so much so, that he became a prerequisite for Rodgers to sign.. until money talked.. then he ruined Russ and the Broncos, now he’s back to Rodgers. The guy may “know” football, but that doesn’t mean he is NFL material, which it’s blatantly obvious, he is not. His schemes are high level HS ball, mid-tier college at best. Without the perfect storm, they fail miserably in the NFL and it’s because it’s plans predicated on 1970s football.
-
That’s because, 1) they had weapons. 2) Bortles for all his faults, was a gun slinger and caused trouble with his legs to open things up. 3) Played against pitiful defenses. 4) Hacket runs a college scheme, which fit Bortles limitations. What happened the next season?

Former Buffalo Great OJ Howard Cut by Raiders
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s hung around for a long time.. Foster not so much.
