Bills lose Anderson, Austin and Broeker to claims.
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Dolphins have talent at the top end of the roster, where it matters. The Bills are deep, as in, all of their guys look the same. -
Guy is a JAG, last year it was McKenzie who was jacked and going to break out, stole him for 2.4M or whatever it was, turns out he’s still a nobody as a WR. It’s like Groundhog Day around here, “oh look, a small guy that’s fast, we got Tyreek Hill!” …. 6 weeks in, “I knew Beane needed to get a real WR in here, no more smurfs!”

Without a major over haul, this is the last year of this current iteration’s window. Diggs is going to want out after this year and it’s doable, Davis SHOULD be gone, nearly the entire D is ready to be replaced. Personally, I think without injuries to other AFC contenders and an insane amount of luck, this current team is done. There’s just not enough playmakers on the team. Allen and Diggs can’t do it all. There’s hope for Kincaid, but I’m not counting the chickens. Allen will carry the team for as long as he stays healthy, but ‘21 was the best shot of a SB with this squad and they blew it.

And they made moves to get impact players, what have the Bills done to get any?
-
I’m very interested, thought he would be a target in FA, would love to see him on the way to Buffalo ASAP.
-
Because you are never REALLY contenders. They haven’t even made the AFC Championship game.
-
Ehh, I agree in principle on the FA classes sucking, but I would actually consider Brown and especially Beasley as hits. They produced while they were here and he parted with them at the right time. Bringing them back was a desperation move because of the garbage they had at WR in general though.
-
If you really believe a COACH who was signed a month ahead of the draft did all that scouting and found hidden gems, then played the draft board and got them, then you must also believe it was he who missed on Maholmes, so he’s not very good at his big lifting.
-
This FO can take credit for Knox (who they grossly overpaid) and Davis, who is only a #2 because they refuse to get a real starter for Josh because he continues to cover the flaws of the team.
-
There’s the thing, if you took the numbers off the RBs, there isn’t one on this team that looks any different than the others. Cook is marginally faster and smooth in routes, so I’m semi-optimistic that one might work out, but still not worth a 2nd rounder when the Colts can’t get more than that for an absolute stud (yes I know the contract is the problem, but the fact nobody wants to pay him, speaks volumes of the lack of value) You got all the others off the street. Personally, I liked Evan’s coming out and was excited when he signed, but I think he just lacks the vision to be anything more than a typical JAG.

Floyd had better be worth it. 9M squandered at a position so deep you give guys away. Meanwhile we have one starting WR.
-
On a trash team, behind a garbage line, without practice time. How’s Moss doing? How would the extra salary cap be helpful? How about we stop wasting picks on RBs that can be matched by UDFA or 7th rounders? I guess if you plan to use second round picks on DEs to give to your buddies team 2 years later as a backup and 3rd round picks on guys who can’t even contribute on STs, Beane’s plan is killing it. How is it that the Bengals completely mopped the Bills on both sides of the ball and the only player you would pick on the Bills roster over theirs would be QB, which is still debatable?
-
Morse being one Concussion away from retired and having missed time here because of them made it a real question mark. Worst case, you could have off loaded a bloated contract for a middle of the road, aging player.
-
So whose fault is it? It’s all the coaches? MCD couldn’t stop the call? Or what?
-
Don’t forget keeping the trash we had at RB, to cut Blackshear who went on to perform just as well in the regular season as he did here in preseason, only to ditch the trash after the fact and need a replacement.

TJ is solid, he’s an average starter. Davis is a JAG, he’s a #3 (at best), getting #2 volume due to the offense I’ve scheme, you could plug in virtually anyone in his slot and get the same production. He’s got one of the highest drop percentages in the league and improved his YPG ~15 yards after moving up to the default #2. Benford Jackson and Hamlin all only got on the field due to injuries and another whiff on the 1st round pick. Keep trying though. I’m fine that he’s got decent depth players, that’s great, now go find one impact player outside of Allen.
-
And to be fair, we not only had a long term question at Center, but glaring needs on the OL, but another mid-evaluation lead to drafting another DE, who was already going to be nothing more than a back-up with that roster.
-
Yep, they are obviously loyal to fault. After the last two years in the playoffs, the LAST thing they should have been looking at is extending both coach and GM. They have no clue or don’t care about winning at all. They (Kim) just wants the team(s) in Buffalo. I guarantee they will sell off the Sabres and we’ll continue in with Marv Lewis 2.0 until Allen won’t sign an extension.
-
Who cares? They are all JAGs. You really want to point to greatness from selecting a bunch of guys that have jobs, fine. The fact is, most of them wouldn’t even start on another team and absolutely none of them are actual difference makers.
-
That’s literally all he’s done, except put the team in salary cap hell as bad as it was when he took over and gutted the roster. Now he’s got himself a roster full of over paid Jags with Allen dragging their asses to wins. We are witnessing the Aaron Rodgers/Brett Farve scenario all over again. The only props I can give GB is they at least used picks on the OL too. Save yourself the time of trying to tell me 13 wins. You can’t be all excited about that and also criticize every other team/QB for not winning championships. The window is closing fast in the Bills, it’s time for a massive overhaul. Facts are facts, Diggs is right.
-
That’s a joke. Beane is so overrated it’s not even funny. Complete roster mismanagement and horrible draft after horrible draft, he may have been a scout, the guy should be handcuffed in a back room come draft day.
-
Yeah… no… Cook is the receiving back, Harty is just a slot guy. He’s going to be Lil Dirty all over again.
-
I think you over estimate the amount guys talk, but believe what you want.
-
I don’t think they would “give up” per se. The thing is Allen IS the offense. Aside from Diggs, it can be argued there isn’t another starting WR on this roster. Davis is ok, but he’s really a 3, his numbers lie a bit because of volume, but he’s not a legit 2. The rest of the WRs are JAGs, nothing more. Unless Kindcaid has an exceptional rookie season, which we hope for, there’s nobody on this team that anybody has to scheme against. Take away Allen and plug in a bottom 15 starting QB, you have a sub .500 club. Every team has a plan to beat the Bills with Allen, without him hiding the deficiencies, it’s going to be Very tough to win. The defense is ok, but if teams know they don’t have to worry about Allen dropping 30 on them, they can just play power ball, work the middle of the field and destroy the obvious weaknesses. Hell the Pats didn’t even have to throw to beat them when Allen struggled in the elements.

I have a feeling we will be trading for one of the Texans back ups, to make sure we get that 3rd round comp choice. Mills makes a lot of sense as he feels he should be able to compete against their rookie, wasn’t allowed to and probably is still pissed. Keenan can’t be cut or they let a 3rd round pick walk away for nothing. Lance was worth a flier for a developmental project, he is basically what Allen was when he walked in, super raw athlete, all the tools, needs refinement. McClappy probably thinks he is the reason Josh turned great, so he could do it again. Not worth paying though.
