Rumors were they wanted a 1st round pick, which was never going to happen.

I think people forget that he was a helmet tap away from being out for weeks, or maybe even done for good. I like the guy, but he’s got plenty of risk associated with him. I wouldn’t be shocked if the plan is to get a rookie to take C as McGovern was really solid at G last year, but at least this way, they can say they have a plan going into the draft. Quality Centers can be had fairly late in the draft.

She’s way harder.

Dude can’t catch a pass from noodle armed QBs, forget it w JA. HARD PASS. -
Could the Bills be looking at Denver?
DCofNC replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s a bargain for Sutton. -
Hope the incentives are the real money, FA is loaded w S, not sure what the rush to sign that turd burglar would be.
-
I like it, but you have to feel he knew he would be cut if they didn’t work it out, I’m betting the offset language in his contract made it so he wasn’t going to make a whole lot more with a new team and he put out crap tape as and old, undersized, injured DE that had to be made inactive for crucial games. That’s not exactly the kind of stuff that gets you big deals. Doing this, he gets a chance to make his money, and come back for another decent chunk next year. It could be a win / win. He may also be cooked and lowered his own take when they send him packing this summer.
-
That depends, do they replace him? Do they sign more FAs than they let walk? There’s a scenario where he could net you a pick, but I kinda doubt it’s a 3rd to be honest.

Is trading Milano something Bills should consider?
DCofNC replied to All I Need is Hope's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ya know, JA17 has a big cap hit and I bet we could get at least a 3rd rounder for him, we should consider trading him. -
True, might as well wait and see, just go post June 1 if he’s still less valuable on the field than he is being off it.
-
But I thought it would be impossible to release Miller 😂
-
I don’t love Dawkins at top end payment, but he’s good. Extending him looks like the best play to me.
-
About McD? Nah, not really.
-
Ahh the ole McDermott philosophy of someone being too valuable to let play, gotta love it. I don’t like seeing him go, but if doofus won’t play him, you can’t pay him.
-
He’s the best of a really weak group behind Diggs. That’s not saying much. He should come into camp with plenty of competition and have to eat his spot, he’s proven exactly nothing yet. Had they taken that approach with Davis, he would have been pushed to the right role for hime, a #3.
-
Makes sense, he’s a nice piece, but basically what Cook is and some return ability. As much as I like him on the team, not at 5M. If he’s back for 1.5 or so, I’m good with it.
-
Only because he looks sad in the picture, otherwise, that’s way too rich.

Ed Oliver is playing out of his mind this season
DCofNC replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
The truth will not be tolerated here! He was over rated and over drafted. Everyone got sucked into the Donald hype and he’s not close. The painful part is, there were 3 other DTs drafted after him that are all true impact players and far better. He’s good, just not special. -
That’s already been out there, where ya been?

Mel is back and I gotta say I love the pick
DCofNC replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn’t be mad if we took an OT early for that matter. -
Not the same, he had guaranteed money, but it wasn’t all tied to signing bonus. What screws us with the Von and Diggs deal is the amount of signing bonus/salary converted to bonus. Upfront, it allows you to pay a guy, and the cap hit gets spread out over the remainder of the contract. However, the minute he leaves you accelerate all the cap hit to that year. Os just had big guaranteed money, so they could trade that away, if anyone would take it. The basically paid in draft picks for a team to eat it.

Will your opinion of McD change if we make the Super Bowl…. And lose

There’s going to be some quality backs available in the 2M range and I’d take one. Cook is so slight framed, wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a replacement available that’s better than Johnson.

They got there the same way the Bills are getting there, always mortgaging the future to pay for this year because they had a shot. It all started when they had Breese, then they thought they had enough to win the division, then they could get Carr and have another shot. This is the reason I say, take the medicine once in a while. I’d take it now, the current roster only has a shot because of JA, it will have pretty much the same shot of you cut all the fat and set yourself up for the future. Right now, KC runs the AFC, you can beat up on the Jets and Patriots all you want, it won’t matter in the end.
