  1. I agree Daniels looks good, but Maye not starting isn’t necessarily an indication of anything more than the Pats knew they were taking a guy who wasn’t quite ready to go and are doing him a favor of not throwing him to the wolves out of the gate. There was a time, not that long ago, where it was common practice for QBs to sit and learn before being handed the reins. I would argue in most cases, that’s still the best way to do it. Too many guys are playing before they are ready and have their confidence rocked. It takes a special player to jump in and produce right away AND maintain that. There have not been many rookie sensations at QB that have lasted more than a season, the more common path is to struggle and be a nobody or struggle and take 3 years to become somebody. For every Striud there are 6 Bryce Youngs and for every Josh Allen, there are 50 wrong Josh’s. QBs don’t grow on trees and developing them has worked out more than throwing them out there. I hate the Pats, but I think they are doing the right thing.
  2. This is the problem with a defensive coach and a superstar QB.
  3. Nah Mahomes, Jackson are guaranteed spots , there will be other mediocre performers to get the nod for 3rd string, like Lawrence. Josh might get MVP, All Pro and still not make the popularity contest.
  4. The only issue I see here is our own team knows how to beat our D, run the ball. It’s not a secret and our D is not very good at stopping the run. I do believe there is a need for bigger LBs, love Bernard and Milano, but I’d also love to actually have the starters on the field once in a while and that’s just not happening.
  5. Well said, George lived on reputation from College. I looked at him and Antoine Smith (remember him? Don’t blame you if you don’t) as the same guy. The only difference is the Bills knew enough to not pay him just bc he was a first round pick. Super unimpressive players. Holmes was a legit PROBLEM. Him, Natron Means was another bad dude as was Jamaal Williams. I miss that type of run you over or leave you in the dust type of back. The only thing we have seen recently that’s remotely close is Henry, but the guy runs leaning backwards so even as big as he is, he can be stood up easily. Peterson was a monster too, but also a high runner. I think the HOF has become exactly what it’s named. Hall of FAME. Note that it doesn’t say, Hall of All Time Great Players, though I feel that’s what it WAS, now it’s about name recognition/fame. There have been a number of guys that made it in that I don’t feel belong based on play, but they were/are household names.
  6. Great call on Evans. Perhaps the most under appreciated WR ever.
  7. He better get to producing or he’s going to be a sad man over giving up those guarantees
  8. Calais Campbell has been outstanding his whole career, though never a super star, always very disruptive. Also have been on the Minshew train since college, love the guy.
  9. Ehh, I think you forget, there was a long time when Carr was widely considered a top 10 QB. He’s not bad when he’s comfortable. This team has the weapons to make him look pretty darn good.
  10. Idk, I think it takes them to 0-5 to drop out of the top 10
  11. Yeah, he looks to be in the all too typical sloooowwww start to his season. Hurts really isn’t much better.
  12. I have only watched a few games, but if Dalton is an upgrade… yikes..
  13. This is absolutely nuts to me, it seems like there might be more to this story, nobody gives up on a first overall pick after 2 games in their second season in a garbage team.
  14. He had no KNOWN/reported concussions last season. However, his play was pretty awful at the end of the year, do we know he wasn’t messed up and hiding it? He’s had so many known concussions at this point, he really should stop, but we’ll see what he chooses to do.
  15. There is an UBER Shuttle that picks up and drops off in a couple of places, the shuttle gets you way closer. Personally, I’d just rent a car and go that route.
  16. That walk was insane. For anyone who makes a trip there in the future DO NOT take rideshare to that stadium. It’s a legit 45 min walk to the stadium and we were hustling. Even better the end of the game it cost me $145 to get back to my hotel. It’s a ***** show.
  17. I do not want to see guys get hit the way he did, but you have to love Shakir’s toughness, holding on to the ball while getting drilled and popping right up to run back to the huddle, looks like an old school WR. He’s quickly turning into on of my favorite players on the squad.
  18. Yes, they scored and ultimately that’s what matters. That said, they didn’t exactly move the ball, they had a whopping 247 yards of offense and 13 first downs. The defense set the O up very well; they scored 24 pts on 180 yards, that is not possible without extremely short fields. They had one drive that would be a “normal” length drive. I’m not trying to take anything away from them, they played the game and won, but the fact outsiders aren’t impressed with the offense isn’t unreasonable. Allen’s stats for 2 games look like his typical stat line for one of his good days. The leading receivers numbers are pedestrian and the RB yardage isn’t anything special either. So I fail to see why anyone is shocked that critics are finding the offense underwhelming so far. The idea that everyone is starving isn’t far off, they haven’t been passing a ton and everyone is getting a tiny morsel. Shakir is the only one who got a decent amount of targets both games. All that said, it COULD be a really good thing. It makes it hard to scheme against if there’s nobody to target. Also it appears they will adjust the plan to the opponent. As long as points keep going on the board and wins stack up, I don’t care how they do it (as long as JA is healthy).
  19. The offense as a whole didn’t do a lot yesterday. The D really put them in great position. They scored 24 points, which is good enough, but only had 2 sustained drives. They basically stalled right where the D gave them the first TO, got a field goal. Cook broke the one run on the first play of the series after getting the ball at the 50. It was exactly what they needed, but let’s not pretend they looked dominant out there. Shakir and Kincaid were the only players with more than one catch, so that starving theory isn’t that far off. I’m not trying to be negative, but be realistic about it. So far the O hasn’t been “impressive”.
  20. It looked like it was a duck off the foot live, but I’m not sure, if it wasn’t tipped, he hit it terribly. Probably a bad hold/terrible footing of that field. Guys were slipping all night.
  21. You know what, they were available and rarely injured. So the question is, would you rather have a more talented guy for 3 games a year or good solid play ALL year. I mean… this is funny.
  22. Those bad decisions were the real difference for sure. The one thing that really concerns me is it looks like we are back to having to completely sell out to stop one facet of the game again.
  23. Well they DID, but that’s not really the case because they were absolutely going to give up more when Tua went down. They were in the 6 yard line, 1st and goal, McDaniels went desperation mode and turned it over on downs with their back up QB. Let’s be real, they would have given up ~20-24 points with Tua out there. They were also selling out to keep the ball in front of them and getting gashed by the RBs, so it’s not all roses. Had Tua not thrown the ball up for grabs multiple times, this would be a very different conversation. The success was not really on the Safteys being good so much as Tua being pretty awful.
