KC’s luck will run out, just a question of when. They aren’t a dominant team, they are just getting a lot of good breaks and timely mistakes by opponents. I still think they are the favorites to win it all, but I’d bet they lose one if not 2 or 3 before the playoffs. I’m up in the air if I want the Bills to beat them or not, it’s great, but if we are locked in to a lower guaranteed seed and rest some guys going into the playoffs, I see that as better than fighting to the bitter end of the year with #1 seed delusion.

If by “not that much different” you mean 60% more, then I guess it’s the same 🤷♂️.
We couldn’t afford diggs beyond this year but somehow we can take on Jefferson’s contract?
look, he’s a great, GREAT, player. We would be a worse team if we had him. Half a billion on a quarterback and one wr isn’t a recipe for team building.
Actually, Jefferson’s Cap hit this year is 8.5M this year and 15.3 next year and we are eating Diggs at 31M soooo… you’re clueless. Not only that, when he DOES move up in value it’s 39M and 42M, not that you ever let it get to that, bc you resign him, but worst case scenario, you have the best WR in football for what you are paying Diggs and any competent version of his replacement. So how ya feel about your statement now? -

I really think that’s all we need. And when Cooper moves on, replace him with a burner.
I also do believe Hollins is integral to our system for what he does
Hollins = Gabe Davis, but he’s actually better than Davis.

Seriously? People are hating on that statement? He’s not on pace to match his rookie numbers with what should be more opportunities. He’s averaging 3 touches a game and people don’t find that disappointing? I give up.

I don’t know where Bishop is, but Dejean is balling out , only mention bc he was my wish at that pick.

Aura….didn't the Chiefs sign him off the Bills’ practice squad? No, they traded them the pick.

Might as well drop 9 into coverage at the rate the DL is getting to the QB.

I like our chances as long as we have at least Cooper back, but I'm quietly mentally preparing myself to have my heart ripped out by the refs at the end of the game.
I’m actually planning to be so pissed by the 3rd quarter that I won’t have any expectations of winning so the refs doing what they do won’t matter to me.

Not with his salary.
It’s not that much different than what they are paying Diggs to not be here, so yeah, yeah he would.

Hi, I’m a Mack Hollins Truther, he did in fact play a heck of a game today.

Well not sure how you come to that conclusion since the first INT was going to Shakir.
This team needs a true receiving threat. After they moved on from Diggs I thought that would be Kincaid. I thought they would take the approach KC has done with Kelce.
But Kincaid has not been the superstar we
had hoped for so far. He's solid but not even close to an elite TE.
Coleman looks like he may be as good or better than Davis was. But he is not a #1.
If Kincaid doesn't get better and Cooper leaves in free agency they will need to find another true #1.
Kincaid is a major disappointment this year, don’t know what the deal is, but he’s a non-factor.

A very good point, one I had not really considered: today we see another fatal flaw in his team, a very poor back up quarterback situation too.
And with the lack of offensive play makers, running backs and receivers, and ditto for the defensive personnel, today he embarrassed himself even more.
He knows full well that tomorrow the criticism of the very poor depth at quarterback will grow louder and louder. Prescott is out for the year, and what we saw today may be what we see for the rest of the year. Yikes.
He had two days to get someone else in here, knowing that Prescott may be lost for the year. But he ignored that in the same way he simply ignored their player needs in the off season. The sutff is likely to really hit the fan for jones--and he has not been handling it very well lately.
Who would they get that would be good enough to keep them “competitive”. Today should have been an audition for Lance in the 2nd half, he’s the only one with tools to even be a legitimate QB on that team, even though he’s looked pretty awful in every opportunity, there’s no time like the present to try to get him some time. If he’s good, you have a trade-able asset for the draft next year.

The Jets have quit as a group. That is some serious disfunction there for all that talent to be this bad.
They were better last year with mommas boy
Has anyone ever fired the head coach AND the interim coach in the same season?

Btw Murray might actually be good.

The Jets looked really good on that drive and then choked. I don’t know what the real issue with that team is, but I hate having them on the schedule late in the season, they have enough talent to screw up playoff seeding.

Whether Samuel is still hurt or not, good to see him make at least a few plays today. With Coleman, Cooper and now Kincaid out, Allen needs all the help he can get in having some options to throw to.
Good lord this rag tag team of WRs is not enough without Kincaid. Samuel has to step up BIG or we might as well not play next week. Really hope at least Cooper is back next week.

I think we’ll know for sure if he’s added to the PS at the bye. I would expect they would bring him in then, spend some time getting up to playing shape and be ready to go the last 2-3 games of the year. That should give him time to be ready for the playoffs. If he’s not back by then, I’d pretty much consider it a pipe dream. While I’d love to have him back over Hamlin, I hope he stays retired if there’s ANY risk he could be seriously injured due to his neck condition. These guys deserve a great life after the game, I hope he wouldn’t risk it if there’s any more risk than “normal” out there.

Lot of extreme and entrenched positions in this thread, headlined by yours shared here. You're usually able to acknowledge more nuance. I like your posting, so this repeated oversimplification seems odd.
It's awesome that Benford has become such a beast, and really helps that draft haul become somewhat "transformative" which I think another thread is devoted to. Elam's retrospective 1st round value is 100% independent of whatever the guys behind him do. Benford is all bonus. Elam has not lived up to the draft value spent on him, although his on-field performances have been better (minus Jax last year) than most want to acknowledge.
No need to conflate the two things.
Benford would absolutely start on MOST (if not all) teams. Douglas is a decent #2 option for at least half the league, I'd guess. Both are at the very least "starting caliber" NFL boundary CBs. Douglas could be getting to the end of that level of play, but he is still a physical and tenacious presence out there.
Why are some posters so hyperbolic in this thread? Lot of feels over this most recent defensive performance. Lot of trauma.
Benford would, Elam would not. That is who I was speaking of.

I’m fine w RZ, but why is he even out there between the 20’s?

I think Brady is scheming different guys open so the opposition can't focus on preventing one guy being the focal point. Similar to what Green Bay did last season which made things tough on defenses.
All well and good, but why scheme so much for Mack Hollins?

Cooper just put up 265 receiving on Christmas Eve last year. If he gets the targets, he can take over games.
Gabe Davis had 225 in a playoff game, see how one game shouldn’t be used as a gauge of a guy’s overall ability?
When you catch a couple bombs in a game, it’s easy to look like a dominant performance when you look at the stats, doesn’t mean it really mattered much.
The Colts Game reminded me why we don't need/want a Diggs/#1 Receiver on our team

it’s all about cap space. You’re telling me, you’d rather have this group of WRs, plus Jefferson for 8.5M cap hit this year and 15.3 next year? Give me a break. Basically, Jefferson is taking the same space as Samuel. You’re back peddling because you don’t know the cap implications and you are dead wrong. Having a great WR like him would open up so much. Not only that, it would buy back your 3rd round pick from next year that’s burned on Cooper.
