  1. This year is big for Herbert in my eyes, right now he looks like what he was in college, a physical specimen, hyped up, loser. Maybe it’s all been about a bad team around him, or maybe, that’s who he is.
  2. Wow man, just tell us all you have no idea what you are watching.
  3. You guys are great, thank you! I’m going to book it all in the next couple days so we’re good to go. Flights are dirt cheap and hotels aren’t too bad right now, so once that’s locked in, it’s just the damn tickets, but it is what it is.
  4. Brand new WR core, first year of Brady as OC in full, more emphasis on running the ball. I think number wise it will be similar to last year. Hopefully, he really cuts down the turn overs and potentially runs less often himself.
  5. Hey all, I’m thinking about making a long weekend trip and going to the Miami game, in Miami. Is it worth the trip? Any tips on where to stay or “must try” restaurants? I’ve been to a lot of games at home and a handful of away games, I know nothing compares to the game day experience in Buffalo, but I’m always down for something new.
  6. Blake Bortles’ career took a nose dive after they were gone. Hackett gets a lot of hate, rightfully so, but most QBs he works with look worse without him. His schemes seem bush league, but he made people think his QB at Syracuse was potentially the best in the draft (pathetic class, but nevertheless), he did well with Ortin, Bortles, and Rodgers. His “failures” are EJ Manuel, who never was good, the corpse of Russ Wilson and Zach Wilson. Is it really all him? I’m a straight up Hackett hater, he’s the definition of nepotism at work, BUT he’s been pretty solid with real QBs to work with.
  7. Give it up, EJ SUCKED, he sucked at Florida State, held that team back from a couple championships. Marrone saw it for what it was, he had a team that could contend and a pathetic QB holding him back, he did the right thing. EJ couldn’t complete passes in shorts, without pressure, he was WAY less accurate than Josh ever was. Not only that, Marrone not only played, but WON with Bortles who is the poor man’s version of JA. Marrone might be an arrogant blowhard, but he was right about EJ and would have been just fine w JA. He did more with less than McClappy ever has.
  8. This whole piece is a from the perspective of someone who likes a team that’s doesn’t have a WR worth a damn. I believe, too much money/value has been/is being placed on WRs. But they are the second highest paid players in FA, they are far from a dime a dozen. Elite players make your team better, period. A great WR, even if they aren’t getting the ball forces scheme shifts which opens other options. The idea that you don’t need one good one if you have 4 really good ones is cute, that must be why every team has one, maybe two guys that do anything. It’s basically like Parcells said about QBs, “if you have 2, you don’t have one.” Except here, if you have 4 you don’t have two. Talent levels are vastly different, you are either blind or plain stupid if you thinks it makes no difference if you have AJ Brown and Devonte Smith or 4 guys who really can’t differentiate from each other, of which any or all you would trade for either Brown or Smith. WRs do get paid too much individually on the elite end because they only touch the ball maybe 10 times, but a guy like Brown, Hill etc, for the D to follow them and open other holes. RBs got devalued because the emphasis shifted to passing, no other reason. Right now the emphasis is still on passing bc the league is set up for it. WRs are THE premier position outside of QB. The idea they are a dime a dozen is flat out stupid.
  9. Man if I was Dallas, I would have been working hard to ship Dak out to one of the teams in the top 10 for picks.
  10. Could be an interesting FB option, going to be on PS for a year almost guaranteed, no matter where he goes.
  11. Good, all but guarantees a late season game in Buffalo with the division on the line.
  12. Good for him, I know his dad wants him to play with a real QB.
  13. If nothing else, he’s a vet that’s been around enough to know the ropes. Decent depth, at this point we just have to hope he isn’t the #2.
  14. The guy I really WANT to fill the role is Shorter. He’s kinda the same thing as Bernard, seen as a fringe roster type, who could step up big. If the light bulb goes on and it all comes together for him, he could be a HUGE boost to this team. He’s everything we need, size, speed, cost, etc. if he could take the starting job, even as the #2, and I mean, Really deserve the job, it would be amazing for this team. I actually think the guy you will see become really next level this year is going to be Kincaid.
  15. I don’t know if he’s necessarily going to surprise anyone the way Bernard did, but I like this choice. I feel like they got a great player, later than he should have gone.
  16. Yep, even when Franklin and Baker are not doing anything in the league, some other dude drafted behind him will be more impactful and the fans will be screaming they knew WR was the right choice.
  17. I’m almost sure they won’t trade for anyone of those guys. Money, picks, etc all make it not worth it and to be honest every one of them is a concern in one shape or another. They SHOULD have just inked D-Hop last year, but you don’t go wasting a draft pick to make up for it, unless it’s unbelievably low, like a 4th or less. DK is not a true 1, he’s a great compliment, but he’s the same thing whoever gets to be disappointed with Higgins next year is getting. DJ Moore, also not a true Alpha, nor is Aiyuk. Any of them make the team better, but they are absolutely not worth the draft capital AND the big contract to eat that much cap space.
  18. He may be better than Cook at everything other than a 40 yard dash. Cook is a fast guy who ran through open holes, look at the end of the year when teams tried to stop the run, he was mediocre at best.
  19. Cook is headed back to the role he belongs in, just like college, he’s going to be the complimentary back, he’s not built for the starting role in a power rush scheme.
  20. I think this exec thinks the same as the fans do. It’s really in Josh to elevate the guys around him, can he carry the team? We’ll see. The one thing I think is good, we’re going a little different than the majority of the league in building a Patriots dynasty type team of being able to do everything, so you can’t key on one thing. That’s really what’s made KC good, Pacheco can gash you and there’s no part of the field safe w Mahomes so, here’s to hoping we can do the same.
  21. Could take the probably right off there for me, I’ll take it and I’ll sell it to the guy next to me for $5, I’m still ahead.
  22. Stats don’t tell the whole story, especially for Kickers and QBs. The whole story is, ours isn’t clutch and you can’t count on him in the big moments. It cost us last year and I wouldn’t be risking it again.
  23. The ONLY reason it was put in the CBA was to give teams a negotiating point. For a QB, “we only have to pay you ~20M on the 5th year option, so to make this work for both of us, you need to consider that in your ask.” With a guy like Groot who is worth maybe 10M a year, you just guaranteed him more than he’s worth at this time, essentially resetting your own negotiation floor if you wanted to extend him. I think this front office does a lot of things really well, but the egregious 5th year option usage proves they do not get the art of negotiation or cap management to the degree the fan boys here like to think they do. The only player the Bills should have used it on was Allen and they obviously re-upped him before it was a point. Using it and not extending him was a major miss on Edmunds, I would argue it was a floor set point for Oliver, who was over paid for his output and sorry, not sorry, is not the big impact player people here want to believe either. So twice it’s cost you more than it would have to extend a guy at the time and once it’s allowed him to price himself off the team, the other it allowed to increase their contract to more than it should have been.
