  1. No, realistically they are the definition of Just A Guy at this point in their careers. Nothing special at all. I like them both, but they haven’t proven to be anything more than JAGs at this point and they really haven’t even done as much as Gabe Davis did to make people believe he was special.
  2. I’ve been out of the loop for a game since Covid, what’s to be expected to pay for “good” seats? Im seeing 300 levels for ~200, and lower level in the mid field area over 600, is that the new normal? I want good seats, just don’t want to over spend.
  3. The Eagles have a stacked roster and have done a great job drafting, I envy their position. That said, they haven’t won anymore than Buffalo and I don’t care about excuses, show me results. As far as saying it was done in the past, that’s all well and good, but nobody in this era has paid a QB and a WR big money and done anything. I don’t see a team outside of Philly that could do it.
  4. The problem becomes, every guy that gets paid is going to be the new highest, this is why Dak wants 60MM and nobody regards him as the best there is. Now Chase, Lamb and probably somebody I’m nothing thinking of will immediately try to get more and will come out with higher averages at the expense of guaranteed money. Higgins will probably get 30 now. It’s stupid and unsustainable. You MIGHT get one year where it all comes together with a top QB and WR getting paid together and still have enough left to keep said QB up right and money left over to field an extremely young D, that can hold together enough to win. That said, nobody has done it yet. I don’t think anybody will either. Mahomes is winning with nobodies and a better D. The Eagles can’t beat SF. SF is set up to dump their #1 WR so they can pay their QB, etc. I don’t care, you can’t tie up 80+MM in 2 guys on one side of the ball and still have enough talent everywhere to win it all. It will take a fluke, along with outstanding drafting and insane luck along with way to make it happen.
  5. Maybe we just call him what he is “fast Gabe Davis with Josh Allen throwing”
  6. It’s already established. Mapletron.
  7. Give it time…
  8. I’d bet his play in the Pro Bowl is a big reason he’s not here. Amazing how good he looked out there.
  9. The cash flow depends on the purchase price vs the rent, you won’t be able to finance something that’s not going to cash flow, so that part is pretty safe bet. Either way, the tax shelter is the real play here.
  10. Yeah, and you outlay all the cash to have it pay you back slowly or you buy 10 houses with 10% down, for the same money, have 10 houses cash flowing, 10 houses to claim depreciation against and 10x the tax shelter. You don’t understand the investment in real estate game. There are massive tax considerations you aren’t thinking about with the real estate vs stock investment. Both have their place, but for a high earning employee, there’s a very good reason to take on investment properties for tax shelter.
  11. Stats say he’s “special”, reality says he’s a paper Tiger. These are the EXACT type of players you let walk and go get paid stupidly somewhere else. He’s not a difference maker, outside of the drops he had that cost us in big moments. He’ll be RB 2 here by mid-season and this won’t even be a debate.
  12. Well, that settles it, you can not have a QB and a WR 1 on the same team.
  13. The kid is easy to root against, he’s a pompous ass bag. I find myself hating on him for no reason. It wouldn’t be a shock to me if NONE of the QBs taken in the first round this year amount to anything. Time will tell and when he gains a bit of humility Williams will be easier to tolerate.
  14. This year is big for Herbert in my eyes, right now he looks like what he was in college, a physical specimen, hyped up, loser. Maybe it’s all been about a bad team around him, or maybe, that’s who he is.
  15. Wow man, just tell us all you have no idea what you are watching.
  16. You guys are great, thank you! I’m going to book it all in the next couple days so we’re good to go. Flights are dirt cheap and hotels aren’t too bad right now, so once that’s locked in, it’s just the damn tickets, but it is what it is.
  17. Brand new WR core, first year of Brady as OC in full, more emphasis on running the ball. I think number wise it will be similar to last year. Hopefully, he really cuts down the turn overs and potentially runs less often himself.
  18. Hey all, I’m thinking about making a long weekend trip and going to the Miami game, in Miami. Is it worth the trip? Any tips on where to stay or “must try” restaurants? I’ve been to a lot of games at home and a handful of away games, I know nothing compares to the game day experience in Buffalo, but I’m always down for something new.
  19. Blake Bortles’ career took a nose dive after they were gone. Hackett gets a lot of hate, rightfully so, but most QBs he works with look worse without him. His schemes seem bush league, but he made people think his QB at Syracuse was potentially the best in the draft (pathetic class, but nevertheless), he did well with Ortin, Bortles, and Rodgers. His “failures” are EJ Manuel, who never was good, the corpse of Russ Wilson and Zach Wilson. Is it really all him? I’m a straight up Hackett hater, he’s the definition of nepotism at work, BUT he’s been pretty solid with real QBs to work with.
  20. Give it up, EJ SUCKED, he sucked at Florida State, held that team back from a couple championships. Marrone saw it for what it was, he had a team that could contend and a pathetic QB holding him back, he did the right thing. EJ couldn’t complete passes in shorts, without pressure, he was WAY less accurate than Josh ever was. Not only that, Marrone not only played, but WON with Bortles who is the poor man’s version of JA. Marrone might be an arrogant blowhard, but he was right about EJ and would have been just fine w JA. He did more with less than McClappy ever has.
  21. This whole piece is a from the perspective of someone who likes a team that’s doesn’t have a WR worth a damn. I believe, too much money/value has been/is being placed on WRs. But they are the second highest paid players in FA, they are far from a dime a dozen. Elite players make your team better, period. A great WR, even if they aren’t getting the ball forces scheme shifts which opens other options. The idea that you don’t need one good one if you have 4 really good ones is cute, that must be why every team has one, maybe two guys that do anything. It’s basically like Parcells said about QBs, “if you have 2, you don’t have one.” Except here, if you have 4 you don’t have two. Talent levels are vastly different, you are either blind or plain stupid if you thinks it makes no difference if you have AJ Brown and Devonte Smith or 4 guys who really can’t differentiate from each other, of which any or all you would trade for either Brown or Smith. WRs do get paid too much individually on the elite end because they only touch the ball maybe 10 times, but a guy like Brown, Hill etc, for the D to follow them and open other holes. RBs got devalued because the emphasis shifted to passing, no other reason. Right now the emphasis is still on passing bc the league is set up for it. WRs are THE premier position outside of QB. The idea they are a dime a dozen is flat out stupid.
  22. Man if I was Dallas, I would have been working hard to ship Dak out to one of the teams in the top 10 for picks.
  23. Could be an interesting FB option, going to be on PS for a year almost guaranteed, no matter where he goes.
  24. Brutal (ly accurate)
  25. Good, all but guarantees a late season game in Buffalo with the division on the line.
