  1. I would struggle to believe the Giants want to bring in a guy who hasn’t done anything his entire career, until he’s put on an offense that carried Josh Dobbs last season. I don’t mean to take anything away from what Darnold is doing, but whatever GM is dumb enough to sign him to a big deal will be out of a job quicker than Sam will. He’s fools gold. The Vikes would be wise to let him walk and collect their comp pick. Roll with your guy and take a shot at greatness vs pretty good.
  2. It is what it is. As long as ours is 32nd in the round, IDGAF.
  3. He looks so much better, good for him.
  4. Jags suck.
  5. You sign/trade for players that make your team better, but also keeps the competition from getting better, happens all the time. This would be a perfect case of it. Actually he’s super cheap to acquire and especially for a #1 WR. He’s got a base salary of under 9M which 1/4 of is already gone AND 3 void years on the contract already, so you can trade for him, restructure to a vet min deal, kick ~ 6M into signing bonus, meaning a cap hit of 3M and decreasing with every game.
  6. 100% agree. The reason this offense goes is the same reason Baltimore can do what they do. Teams cannot key in on any one thing because the QB can burn you multiple ways. Josh even more so than Jackson. You can’t say “ make Allen beat you with his arm”, he will. You can’t say, “make them run the ball” because they will with either Cook, who is WAY better than I have him a chance to be or Allen who is a nightmare to defend on the run. You can’t just put a spy on Allen and wait for the pocket to collapse because he doesn’t know what a pocket is and your spy will end up in the dirt if they come after him. This scheme works because Allen can kill a team in so many ways. It wouldn’t work (nearly as well) with a guy like Tyrod or Fitz because they won’t gash you with every facet of the game, there is a weakness to exploit. If we are being honest, the OL is good, not great. The WRs arguably are the weakest group of individual talents in the league, props to Shakir, I think he’s a “starting slot” WR for many teams, but he’s the only one that’s a “sure” starter for more than the bottom 5 teams. RBs are good, but getting the benefit of Allen making teams pause a second before reacting. I don’t see this team being much more than .500 without Allen.
  7. Bills 35 Birds 16 Ravens settle for FGs early, get one Henry rushing TD late. JA picks apart their weak sauce D.
  8. I’d take him, if for no other reason than to keep him away from KC.
  9. I would expect a player who is known as a “receiving back” to make that play. It’s a fundamentals issue. Elbows need to stay together so you have maximum leverage at the hands, when they are out wide, you have to hope to stop the whole force by timing a perfect pinch of the ball. He CAN clean that up, but will he? Thats another question all together. Until he gets it sorted out, I’d just try to keep that off his route tree.
  10. The list of teams that “just keep winning” are the list of teams that keep losing when it counts too. Interesting, the SB winning teams still all fall to OCs. The rest really aren’t even that good. The only teams you can argue for are Lions (who will lose their OC this year) and the Texans, who again, will have to start over on offense after this year. The rest of the teams suck because they can’t score when it counts.
  11. No they won’t, look how many times people fell for the Parcells, Belicheck etc coaching tree. This league is desperate for talented coaches, Brady has been around long enough to have his own reputation AND the team got better as soon as he took over.
  12. This is so spot on. He’s been very good in the ones he can look in, that wheel route is just not for him. I have been a critic of him/the pick of him, but he’s been really good this year, can’t deny it. He has a hole in his hands when he has to make the over the shoulder catch, easiest solution is to not put him in that situation.
  13. Fair counter point, BUT would you rather put your eggs in Josh Allen’s basket or in any defense’s basket? All I have to do is look at the SB winning teams (for that matter participants), it’s offensively lead teams that are there and winning. I know people will try to claim Belicheck was a D guy, but the offense didn’t change regardless of who was calling the plays, we all know it was his system and Brady was the other component to that who was basically a coach on the field. Aside from all of that if you measure Josh Allen vs the continued failures of the Defensive “genius’” defense in clutch moments in the playoffs and I would rather have the offense stay consistent. McD has done an incredible job with what he has been working with, I am very impressed. Josh has been forced to work with multiple coordinators because he continues to make them look great, that’s a recipe for zero consistency.
  14. 0 ints for Allen Cook looking like a true stud RB Defense playing lights out without a starting LB or starting caliber S (for anybody but McD) in sight. 3-0 start with the toughest game being AZ.
  15. I agree Daniels looks good, but Maye not starting isn’t necessarily an indication of anything more than the Pats knew they were taking a guy who wasn’t quite ready to go and are doing him a favor of not throwing him to the wolves out of the gate. There was a time, not that long ago, where it was common practice for QBs to sit and learn before being handed the reins. I would argue in most cases, that’s still the best way to do it. Too many guys are playing before they are ready and have their confidence rocked. It takes a special player to jump in and produce right away AND maintain that. There have not been many rookie sensations at QB that have lasted more than a season, the more common path is to struggle and be a nobody or struggle and take 3 years to become somebody. For every Striud there are 6 Bryce Youngs and for every Josh Allen, there are 50 wrong Josh’s. QBs don’t grow on trees and developing them has worked out more than throwing them out there. I hate the Pats, but I think they are doing the right thing.
  16. This is the problem with a defensive coach and a superstar QB.
  17. Nah Mahomes, Jackson are guaranteed spots , there will be other mediocre performers to get the nod for 3rd string, like Lawrence. Josh might get MVP, All Pro and still not make the popularity contest.
  18. The only issue I see here is our own team knows how to beat our D, run the ball. It’s not a secret and our D is not very good at stopping the run. I do believe there is a need for bigger LBs, love Bernard and Milano, but I’d also love to actually have the starters on the field once in a while and that’s just not happening.
  19. Well said, George lived on reputation from College. I looked at him and Antoine Smith (remember him? Don’t blame you if you don’t) as the same guy. The only difference is the Bills knew enough to not pay him just bc he was a first round pick. Super unimpressive players. Holmes was a legit PROBLEM. Him, Natron Means was another bad dude as was Jamaal Williams. I miss that type of run you over or leave you in the dust type of back. The only thing we have seen recently that’s remotely close is Henry, but the guy runs leaning backwards so even as big as he is, he can be stood up easily. Peterson was a monster too, but also a high runner. I think the HOF has become exactly what it’s named. Hall of FAME. Note that it doesn’t say, Hall of All Time Great Players, though I feel that’s what it WAS, now it’s about name recognition/fame. There have been a number of guys that made it in that I don’t feel belong based on play, but they were/are household names.
  20. Great call on Evans. Perhaps the most under appreciated WR ever.
  21. He better get to producing or he’s going to be a sad man over giving up those guarantees
  22. Calais Campbell has been outstanding his whole career, though never a super star, always very disruptive. Also have been on the Minshew train since college, love the guy.
  23. Ehh, I think you forget, there was a long time when Carr was widely considered a top 10 QB. He’s not bad when he’s comfortable. This team has the weapons to make him look pretty darn good.
