He’s physically the most talented. That’s where it ends only due to lack of continued success. Rodgers is absolutely putting on one of, if not the best, QB performances in a single season, ever. Maholmes is still unreal and Russ has years in showing he’s elite. If Josh goes out and leads the team to a SB win, ok, he’s GOT to be in the discussion, but he’s got to prove it all first. I won’t argue, he’s move himself solidly into the top 8 guys without question, I have him in the top 5 without question, but the Top 5 are all so good, there is question on who is the best and that’s why we have to default to body of work.

All valid, but they do have talent there, an owner who will spend big, no income tax, good weather and are allowed to have fans (not that anybody would go) in the stadium. There’s a chance for a quick turn around. They can attract FAs for more than just “we’ll pay the most”, I think they could be pretty good, pretty quick.

I think the Jags can come right back to a contender with real coach and Lawrence, that’s a team, not all that far removed from winning the AFC Championship with Bortles at QB. Now granted, the NFL sent the Patriots to the SB, but it’s not a complete wasteland. They will get a hot coach to go there with Lawrence. The Jets just screwed up big.

Week 15 Bills @ Broncos 1st Half Gameday Thread

Gilliam got held on the 5 as well, but just a fantastic read by Allen, took what was given and literally ran with it. -
Wait Kelvin Benjamin Was Part of '14 draft class?!

By figured out, you mean could have taken Mack instead of Watkins? Or gone for Evans, Beckham or others without giving up the pick the year after? Yeah, coulda done all that.. but somebody has to be the punch line of the jokes and before this year, that was the best strategy to get national media attention. -
I’m only looking for 2 for the starters 😉

3 worst passing teams right now are...

He sure showed everyone they were wrong about him. -
I’m really hoping there is a chance for Beasley to get force fed over the next two weeks, the guy is 162 yards shy of 1000. It would be awesome to have 2 WRs with 1k and with the way he has contributed this year, I would love to see him get it.

Did D. Williams Make a LOT of $ Tonight?
DCofNC replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He did well against Watt, but was also getting a lot of help and it also appeared Watt got injured, so while it was nice having him be limited in impact, I don’t think Williams gets all the credit here. Good job scheming for Watt, making sure he got chipped extra, but he still got a lot of pressure on Allen, especially first half. -
I’d take him in a heartbeat

Isaiah Hodgins designated to return from IR

Remember it’s your team. 2 years ago Bills fans wouldn’t take a first for Foster because he was our great find. Now you have 3 guys who belong on the field in the NFL, Davis who’s doing well for a rookie and that’s really it. The rest are all expendable. It’s a lot better than it was, yes, but emotional attachment to players that could be easily replaced is still there. -
If Love works out, it’s another “Brilliant” move. If not it’s a shame to not give A Rodgers more weapons

It’s official. The New York Jets legendarily suck!

Hence my “tie breaker” comment. -
Could Darnold end up backing up Allen in Buffalo?
DCofNC replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This exactly. The only chance is if he gets traded next year, bombs with the new team, becomes a journeyman who’s desperate for a job and Josh recruits him here so they can hang out. Absolutely ZERO chance he’s here next year. -

They ALMOST have it locked up too because they would have to beat a team and lose a tie breaker to miss him. I hope he goes back to school for another year. He already had Covid, what better pick up line than “Hey baby, Next year I’m going to be the first pick in the draft and I already have Covid Antibodies, no social distancing needed, wanna ________?” -
Murray is an accurate Mike Vick, until he gets hurt he’s gonna be really tough to deal with. As a pure QB, Allen is better. As a football player, they both offer a dynamic option, Murray can kill you in a few more ways, not to discount Josh as a runner, but he’s not in Murray’s class.
-
Agreed, he looks much faster vs his college days. I think he is going to end up in a hybrid OLB/DE role, unless he is able to regain the weight and keep the explosiveness of course.
-
To me, it makes sense for him to get interest from: Indy - Rivers is old, Brissett will leave N.O. - Breese is starting to crack TB- Tawmmy is on a 2 year deal, need replacement Chi - QB hell there Steelers - Ben is up there too, especially if they win it all this year, could see him retiring. Jax- The Stache is pretty average it appears. Was- no explanation needed. NE- future SF- Jimmy G replacement Thats quite a few possibilities.

Man, I don’t think I’d sink a first into him, but I see your point. That’s a pretty huge Risk V Reward play. For me, too much, I’m in for a 2nd at most. The injuries are far too often for me to be comfortable with it.
-
I think Darnold would draw at least a 3rd for anybody who wanted to see what they could do with him. Think of all the guys on the back end of their careers out there, bring Darnold in, see what he has, if he’s got it, let him play, or take over, you have one year on the cheap anyway, then you know it’s going to be a prove it deal, odds are higher at retention if he knows the system and has a better shot to rebuild his value.
-
That was not a trade and in fairness to the Raiders, they got the best years of his career, but I’m sure they didn’t think he was going to keep being a factor for another 5 years. Darnold, in theory has at least 10 years left, it really all hinges on health and development obviously. As of this moment, he has not taken the jump you want to see in a 3rd year guy, but with that team and the injuries, I would not be comfortable writing him off yet. The last thing I would do is let the Pats have him.

Jerry Hughes Do U Bring Him Back or Let Him Walk ?
DCofNC replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s all price dependent, but he’s not the problem with the D, he’s also not the long term solution. If he expects a huge deal, see ya. If he’s willing to take a deal similar to Addison’s then yes. Age is a factor as well, as a smaller, speed type guy, I fear his decline may be faster than some, you need what amounts to a multi-year, year at a time deal with minimum signing bonus in exchange for a higher guarantee this year. -
I can see that point as well, if that’s the case, then I’d control where he goes, specifically out of the division and more ideally to the NFC. The worst case for your team is to trade him to a divisional opponent, then have the 💡 come on. He torments you for the next 10 years.
-
I would be. He’s a guy you thought enough of to draft 3rd overall. You hold his rights, so worst case, you have a cheap(relatively speaking), young QB who is going to have to battle your new Rookie QB to start. If he fails to win, he’s a guy you are happy to have at backup (assuming he keeps his mouth shut), so you have 2 good, young guys on your team driving each other and he walks at the end of next season. If he wins the job, you now have the option to hold onto him and flip him for better picks after what you would assume is a good year. So you control where he goes and get some decent compensation for him. There is no upside to dealing him to the Pats and you definitely should be able to get at least a late round pick for him, so he’s not getting cut. If he catches on and does well, it looks horrible on you. And you gave a division rival their QB of the future, remember the kid should have another 10 years in him if it goes well. I could see the Saints, Panthers, Bucs, Bears, Colts, maybe the WFT etc all willing to gamble a 3rd or more on a chance to have him in their building and see if he’s the next guy.
