Something to keep an eye on: Point differential?
DCofNC replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nobody talks about point differential if you win a championship. The ring is all that matters. Just win. Last year the Bills played against some pretty garbage teams and did what they were supposed to do, beat the snot out of them. They need to continue to do that, don’t play down, that’s how you lose. This team needs to play like the Patriots did when they were dominating. Go out, strike fear in the hearts of your opponents, bury them and don’t apologize, especially to divisional opponents. Win as many as you can, stay hated/feared and try for that ring, that’s all that matters. Having teams feel like they have to be perfect to beat you, puts pressure on them, they usually crack under that pressure. -
If the Bills moved to Austin, I honestly don’t think it would hurt him. Cowboys fans are as rabid as Bills fans, the only difference is they still run around talking about winning SBs 30 years ago and we still get excited over losing 4 in a row. Neither team has had any real success since those times. If anything, I suspect it might up his profits because the Bills would have better revenue coming in, sorry Buffalo, you’re not exactly the model of a city that sports teams WANT to be in. Great fans, but no real money, nor national attention. I agree the Bills should stay and don’t want to see them go anywhere. That said, if the county won’t pony up, it might happen. I could see them moved to a number of places that could absorb the cost with little issue and benefit greatly from it. Austin, Raleigh, Toronto (that would be the end for me), even Columbus OH might be interesting. The truth of the matter is the major cities all pretty much have teams, so you are looking to pick a spot where you are splitting revenues or places that have already failed, so Buffalo makes pretty good sense to stay. Really selfishly, if they do move, Raleigh/Durham NC makes a ton of sense, it’s basically WNYSouth, and the amount of real money here would fill out the stadium in a heartbeat with corporate suites etc. It would be a huge win for everyone, except Buffalo of course. I’d also have them back in a quick drive radius, so I win 😂. Everyone would be taxed less, the weather sucks less and the players would likely be closer to their preferred areas to live. That said, the college fan base hasn’t been as quick to adopt a pro team in the south, so I’m not sure if it would be nearly as “fun”.

I took allen at 11 overall because the impact backs and WRs were gone. He was clearly the best available and IDGAF what the experts say, a QB that drops 45 TDs is worth more than a RB who scores 15 in most scoring systems. Once you are out of the top 5 QBs the drop off is big in terms of scoring. With Maholmes off the board and 7Rbs gone, and Adams and Diggs off the board, I’m ok with taking the best available. I still wound up with a pretty stacked roster, not loving my RBs, but there wasn’t much left.

A few more years of this production, I don’t think it’s a question, he’s been arguably the best player in the league fit the last 3 years. If he stays in the top 5 for even 2 more years, and remains a big contributor for a couple after that, no debate to me, best ever. Bruce and Reggie had strong runs at the top of the league and also had a long run in the league as excellent players. At this point, Donald doesn’t have the tenure form me to crown him, but he may over take them.

Josh Allen is...the Oldest?

Guess we better start researching the 1st round QBs again for next year. -
Views from the Opposition City - week 1 Pittsburgh

I know this is hard for me as a Bills fan to grasp and perhaps even harder for the haters, but this Bills team has taken the step from “team you don’t want to play” to a top 5 team in the league. This is obviously in large part because of Allen taking an enormous leap and he’s showing no sign of slowing down. The Bills should be a favorite at home vs any team in the league and only really even be considered the underdog vs KC at Arrowhead (as of last season). I’m not saying the Steelers don’t have a chance, but this is a team you are going to come into the game knowing, you have to be perfect to beat because they will score a lot in a hurry, from anywhere on the field. Allen has to be absolutely infuriating for opposing D’s, he’s just never out of it. I love having that on our team for once lol. Now to my eye, KC is still the better team, but the Bills could take that step up IF the D-Line can generate consistent pressure and still contain the run, they can not afford to sell out to one or the other as they had to do a lot last year. It worked well enough against more 1 dimensional teams, but it was not enough against the dynamic teams, namely KC. They will also need a big step up by the LBs and a little more solid play from the secondary. Lastly, any sort of threat from the TE position in the passing game and obviously some more success in the run game would be a help to round out the team. I think the run game will be ok this year, they really sold out to the pass last year and the scheme kinda sucked for the backs, I’m hoping to see some more looks where we spread out and then hammer the run. Implementing some formations that give the backs more space should help get them going and keep the D a bit more honest. I think Daboll did a great job last year, there are areas he can take it up a notch this year and I believe he has to be aware of it. -
Bills trading Daryll Johnson to the Panthers for 6th rd pick

Disappointing, but I hope he gets a shot there and makes the most of it. -
The signs of even better things to come from Josh Allen

Allen looked great yesterday, all in context, let’s just hope he comes out blazing for the regular season and doesn’t miss a beat all year. -
Will Gabe Davis ever challenge the #1 WR spot?
DCofNC replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has everything you would want in a #1 and had a really good rookie season, I don’t see why he couldn’t be a #1. Diggs is the Alpha right now, but there’s nothing stopping Davis from taking the other outside job and continuing to improve. -
The 2nd best team in the AFC East is…
DCofNC replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am so tired of the Bills having the 2nd best QB in the division. It’s pretty cool they have the best now too. -
Tyrod threw/throws on of the prettiest deep balls in the league, he’s never been in the conversation of strongest arms. Tight spiral and arch is everything. The stronger arm might push it a little further, but catchable and nicest looking, rarely goes to the strongest arm. Rodgers has probably the best deep ball ever from the strong arm guys, in fairness, probably the best passes ever from a strong arm guy in almost all categories, still doesn’t mean his fast ball is the fastest.

#11 on NFL Top 100: Stefon Diggs!
DCofNC replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I qualified that with being “productive” which none of the freaks are, outside of Metcalf, but he hasn’t reached the level of Diggs etc. -
#11 on NFL Top 100: Stefon Diggs!
DCofNC replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m surprised he’s that high, good for him. With the lack of truly elite physical specimens left at WR anymore, his skills are getting more recognition, very good to see. Guys like Diggs, Adam’s, Hop, Thomas are all getting it done without the crazy, elite, physical talent. They are all at NFL standards, but not 6’4”, running a 4.3. Julio is always hurt, the only real productive speed/size guy is Metcalf. -
Yes and no, there are things that you can know are coming and still not stop.. a dude that punches you before you can get your base is hard to deal with, knowing it’s coming or not. Does he need more? Yeah, for sure. Will he be able to have success without it, yeah. Plenty of guys have been good with nothing more than a bull rush. For this season, I don’t think you will see a lot more than that.

I think McKenzie takes the “scat back” type of role, he’s just as fast and more versatile, already has value as a WR and returner, he’s not going to take traditional runs, but I don’t see Breida doing it either. Use him like Tyreek Hill and forget about a one dimensional back.

Around the League Preseason Games Thread
DCofNC replied to LeGOATski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wilson looked good against back ups, while playing with starters, he’s exceeded my expectations already. For real though, he looks pretty good, definitely can sling it, hopefully he’s not JA 2.0 lol. -
Text book hit, bad penalty

Mitch is far and away the best backup in the league, played a nice game. I don’t see how you can let Zimmer get away, guy is fun to watch. Boogie looked destined to IR. He’s just not as good as any of the others yet. Otherwise O’bada looks like a cut. McKenzie, get this guy on the field, he was killing it out there.

I was an usher through college, got to know the security guys by name, there were some sincere bad asses in that crew. They took no crap and ALWAYS ended the fight. The section I had was about 50% season ticket holders and 50% crazies. Never had to worry about the season ticket holders, they were well behaved. You never knew what was going to happen behind them though. That was a lot of fun, with a lot of good people and as a bonus, I got paid to be in the stadium on game days. With all the Covid concerns and the general craziness from people being restricted for so long, I’d be tempted to let them “ work it out themselves “ more now than ever.
