  1. Man, I could not agree more. I will put it out there, I said Hurts was undraftable as a QB. I would not have him on the board and so many “experts” we all up on his junk. I stand by my assessment, the guy is basically Tebow 2.0 without the prayers. He seems likable, hard working, good football player, but your limit is college level. He can’t make the throes required to be an NFL QB on a consistent basis. He may improve, but I don’t see him sticking. I think Roseman is a horrible GM and it’s just starting to prove itself. They caught lightning in a bottle with Foles and still managed to screw up that good fortune by not taking advantage of trading him at the peak value. They got lucky finding a sucker for Wentz, but still are suffering for that contract. I can’t 100% blame them for the contract in the first place, he did take the league by storm, but he looks off the rails after the injuries, they rolled the dice and lost. This is about the equivalent of everything Bills fans endured pre-Doug Whaley. I know I’m not in the majority, but I don’t blame him for the ***** storm here, he put together a good roster, having the old man force his hand screwed him. I have to tell you, I think had he been given the reins on his last draft, this team would be as good or better than they are now. We would have had Maholmes or Watson with that 1st round pick and nobody would be upset with him. Personally, I think it would have been Watson, who is a great QB although appears to be knocking on the career suicide door pretty hard. The roster he built, did make the playoffs with a backup QB as a starter. Beane has done a good job reshaping the team in the image of the new staff, he also got pretty darn lucky to be able to land JA. He gave up a lot to do it and took a HUGE risk, but it paid off. That along with the move for Diggs have been some serious signature moves, hopefully someone else he drafted can step up big because right now, his history isn’t great, but that’s another conversation.
  2. The guy is a real good ST player, I think that alone gives him an edge to be on the roster. If he contributes at Wr it’s cool, but not overly expected.
  3. Would love a good Vet TE on the roster.. just saying.. also saying no way in hell I would give up more than a 5th and take that contract.
  4. If he doesn’t make the roster this year, he might as well give up. He’s too old to be waiting around, he’s had 2 years to grasp the concepts, either you do, or you don’t. It’s football, not rocket surgery. His window is closing fast, he better step on the gas.
  5. About the only way MT is starting next year is if Dabol takes him with him or JA gets hurt and MT does well as his replacement.
  6. Honestly, sounds about right to me. The clear argument against him is time and still a little careless with the ball.
  7. I lean towards Moss, but if DS can get more north/south then he’s got something to offer too. Breida is going to get some pt because, Speed. I’m not completely sold that Antonio Williams isn’t the best back we have ( looked really good with limited opportunity, who knows?) so I’m just rooting for a real competition and let the best man win. Oh and the rugby guy, has he gotten it together, no doubt the best athlete of the group.
  8. If it gets him on the field, I’m sure he will take it.
  9. Wouldn’t doubt it, but in terms of what it SHOULD BE: 1) Maholmes 2)Watson 3)Allen 4)Rodgers 5)Wilson 6)Brady Thats purely on what they can bring to the table in terms of ability, it’s arguable that Allen should be the #2, but Watson has everything and a redonkuless completion percentage, also he seems more assertive in the massage parlor, so he might get the extra points tacked on. In terms of, “pure ability”, which is what Madden ratings SHOULD be, you can’t argue with any of the top 3 young guns.
  10. I’m just hoping the coaches saw enough with Williams’ effort in the game he got in last year to give him a fair shake in camp. I don’t care what anybody says, right now, you have no clear cut starter at RB, everyone should be competing for every spot. Breida and Williams should have every opportunity to start over Moss and DS. I would love to see Moss (re)gain form and claim the starting job and have the same success he had in college, I think he can be a tier 2 type of starter at RB and that would be more than adequate in this O. Until that happens, everyone should be in play.
  11. Offset language, performance bonuses, etc, all a big part of it. He should be asking for no offset, bonus for games played, ProBowl, playoffs etc. I’m sure his agent is holding their feet to the fire and they don’t like it.
  12. I like the comparison, not sure it’s a perfect one, but if Josh peaks in about 3 years while performing at great levels on the way there, I’m good w it.
  13. Seems like his best bet is to have migraines all camp long and then pull a hammy the week before the season, collect his check and screw the pack all at the same time.
  14. I can respect that opinion, but in the eyes of the rest of the world, he’s not in the conversation as the best ever. Stats do play a part in it and while I agree with you, I think he was a better back than Emmitt personally, you can’t validate the “what if’s”, so he will not be given that credit. with respect to Barry Sanders, it’s not uncommon at all for the senior player to hold back a younger player, so as fun if a fact as it may be that Thurman was the starter, it’s arbitrary.
  15. I don’t think it’s even a question, he’s the best player the Bills have ever had. He is one of, if not, the best ever at his position. The only other possible guy you could mention being in that scenario is OJ. Thurman, while great, not one of the absolute best ever. Reed, Kelly, Lofton, all great, but no where near the best ever. Allen has the talent to put himself in that conversation with another decade of success like last year, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
  16. Most likely, but it’s a hole to fill and one weak area for this team is STILL LB depth, the coaches must have a much higher opinion of the guys on the roster than I do, because they have flat out ignored it for 2 years straight.
  17. Dead on, he’s been an average starter with some athletic flashes. You don’t spend 20M in cap space on that. If he turns into the player the commentators make him sound like, great, pay him. If he is what he is, let someone else pay him. Remember Poz? Same type of polarizing player, I couldn’t have been happier that somebody else jumped on that grenade of a contract. People get attached to draft picks, it should be about performance. Our best LBs in years have been TKO and Fletcher, both signings, not picks.
  18. As of this minute? No. That said, they have him getting paid a high dollar contract already and could use that money to replace him with somebody who would not be a drop off.
  19. I said it earlier, Maholmes is my answer to, 1 game to win, best for this season and best for the future, so I’d take Maholmes.. With what the Bucs did to Maholmes, nobody was going to win in that situation. All that said Brady has won on the biggest stage many many times, Allen has not, so if I am in a “must win” game, I’d feel better rolling the Goat out there and taking my chances over somebody who hasn’t been there and done that.
  20. I think you have to take it in context, part of being the best QB is your situation. Brady is a straight winner, his team is built around him and he kills it. I think Allen is the better player all around right now, BUT if you have to win one game, Brady in a team like he has is scary as hell. Allen is great, but is not a truly proven winner. That’s not saying he can’t win or isn’t a winner, but he hasn’t won anything yet. Brady has rings..
  21. I mean your criteria opens up a lot of possibilities, but I’d take Maholmes for 1 game, 2021 and for the future, so he’s the clear #1. I’d then take Brady for one game, for 2021 I’d be happy with Allen, Watson, Wilson, Rodgers and for the Future I’d take Allen because of age and attitude. I think there’s a solid argument that Watson is a better QB and the age is negligible, but Allen isn’t the Diva. So no matter how you shape it, for me, Allen is in the top 5, hard to see him much lower than that for any of the categories in your criteria.
  22. I don’t know, I think he needs to raise his back elbow up on the drop, get over the ball more, those balls are high and late, it will never work in the NFL, but we all knew he could never be accurate.
  23. Has to be somebody that’s looking at longer term production. I could see the argument that one year should not vault you to elite status. I mean, in all honesty, if you look around the league, there could be arguments, based on long(er) term success for: Maholmes Rodgers Wilson Watson Brady Jackson 🤣🤮 Ryan Dak Baker Cousins and I’m sure Tannehill is mindlessly thrown in for some people. they all have a longer resume than Allen in terms of “success”. I don’t agree with it, but I can see where the argument comes from. I could see somebody, non-biased, ranking him anywhere from #2 to #6 and I could not blame them. For me, the only clear cut pick is Maholmes is #1. After that, take your pick of Rodgers, Allen, Watson, Wilson and even though I don’t think he quite belongs in the conversation anymore, Brady. It’s all about opinion on those guys.
