Familiarity goes a long way, but Zay did have a hell of a college career and had the physical attributes you look for. It was a good pick, it didn’t work out. Obviously, you would now rather have the other 2, but physically Zay has more ability and caught everything thrown at him in college. Something broke in that man’s mind, the other 2 really clicked in gear and killed it.

Morse returning is going to be based on Morse wanting to play or not. You can’t replace him for less and he’s not a bad player. He got over paid when we signed him, but that’s in the past. I would t be shocked if he retires, won’t be shocked to see him back, but I highly doubt they outright cut him.

Derek Carr in line for $40 million per year extension
DCofNC replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nope, let him walk, he’s marginally better than Mariota. -
Didn’t love the signing when it happened and I’m not going to change my mind. Allen elevates players around him and Sanders was a non-factor. Time to put Gabe out there at #2 and draft some more WRs. Still could use a true game changer, but unlikely we land one, unless we get lucky and one drops in the draft. If they part ways with Bease, they are going to have to find a new slot guy too. I know everyone thinks the Bills are stacked at WR, yet if you look at the facts, they have one guy under contract who has ever had a 1000 yard season. Only one who was good enough to make the active roster that’s over 6’ tall. And none that are game changer speed. The group is honestly pretty mediocre as a whole. Allen has brought them up, Beas and Diggs had their career best years with him, he made Smoke relevant for a couple years, hell he had people thinking Robert Foster was an NFL player. Allen has made a mediocre cast look good, if he had elite talent around him, it could be obscene.

Rams Team Building Strategy Will It Be Duplicated or a Rareity
DCofNC replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think some teams might be a little more willing to go to proven difference makers vs hoping picks turn out, if they are contenders. The Bills came up short and may not have if they had taken similar risks to the Rams. The Rams are basically going to have to blow their roster up, but they got the ring. I’d make that trade. -
He pretty well showed there’s nothing left in the tank. He was a non-factor all year, IDGAF what the “pressure” numbers show, unless it changed something, it’s nothing. He’s not getting home at all anymore. He’s no longer faster/stronger and he never had size, it’s time to move on.

He’s not a world beater with his legs, that’s no doubt, but we aren’t talking about Drew Bledsoe either. He’s mobile in the pocket and has had a little success taking off when the opportunity presents itself. He’s most definitely a passer that can take advantage of an opportunity, unlike Josh who can CREATE opportunity with his legs. Josh also holds the ball too long, the difference in the two is the ability to make things happen with their legs, Josh has a special ability, Burrow is more likely to take a sack.

If he does I would see it as a cosmic shift in the way people are thinking these days. The point of work is to live, if I could retire after 8 years and be set for life, there’s no way I’d continue to work, why should we expect it to be different for these guys? The allure of money is there, but what good is money of you beat your body to a pulp and can’t enjoy life with it?

Colts to either trade or cut Carson Wentz
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Minshew, he might get that shot, but I’d be pretty surprised. I think they would be more likely to look at Mariota or Winston. There may be some others who end up moving around too. I would have to think they will look to a vet that can manage the game with a little upside. They could have gone places this year with a decent QB. I’d be listening to all options, but I think Mariota makes a lot of sense. -
Could Bills Trade Up To #1 For Pass Rusher? Picks and Rousseau For #1?
DCofNC replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trading down to get away away from Maholmes was a great move too. Draft trades never work. -
I’m on board for Saquon, the guy is one of the best in the game at RB when healthy. I know that’s a big if, but I’d take a swing if we could. Ideally it’s a player for player deal maybe sweetened with some late round picks that have little shot of making this team. Perhaps Moss and a 6th or the likes. I don’t think Moss has a place here and the Giants need to shed the contract, especially one committed to a RB. They are in a no win situation with him, either they pay big money to a RB who makes no real difference on a losing team, or they get a small return for him. If he stays and has a big year, you then face the fact you can’t resign him anyway and lose him fit nothing but the hope of a comp pick. Or he gets hurt again/doesn’t produce and you paid for nothing. It’s not great either way, I think he will be moved and I don’t think they are going to get much because every team is in that same position. RB is really undervalued right now, the Giants should not have drafted him, but that’s a whole different issue. Nobody is going to give up much for a high priced RB on a short term deal.

Gadget player and moving on from Isaiah McKenzie
DCofNC replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
Finding a player like Hill is like trying to find a QB like Josh Allen. Super stars don’t just grow on trees and show up late in the draft. -
I would LOVE OBJ on the Bills, really hoped they would grab him this year. Patterson has the attention of the league for sure, I don’t see him getting a big deal though, I’d guess 5-6 mill for 2 years.
-
Totally agree. Groot flashed early in the year, but his lack of football for the year prior and virtually zero pass rush moves eventually caught up. I have high hopes for him after a year in a real strength and conditioning program and hopefully with him working on his rush moves. Basham came on a bit at the end of the year too, I think he might actually end up ok, but I’m kinda wondering if they won’t kick him inside as a 3tech. We all know the cap situation is going to require some creativity in the near future, Oliver has been good, not great, I wouldn’t be shocked if they let him walk if the price gets too high and Boogie can step in his role. Epenessa, not a lot of hope on my end, likable guy, hard worker, but just doesn’t seem to have it. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see it.

IDGAF what Sportrac says, OBJ is gonna get more than Patterson. OBJ is a legit super star, albeit one who has had a couple down years, Patterson is a never has been who became a primary weapon on a team devoid of talent. I want Patterson here, BUT what OBJ is doing in the playoffs is going to make him money and make Cleveland look even more stupid. He going to get over 10M next season and Patterson would be lucky to get 7M from a desperate team.

Omg, you wouldn’t know good pizza if it but you in the @$$ if you think Rochester had great pizza. Buffalo’s pizza is equally as bad, but WNY sucks for Pizza. The wings, second to none. Raleigh, meh it’s all wanna be NYC pizza, but at least they are trying. The (reallllllly sad here) true statement made by a friend of mine, Wegmans has one of the best pizzas in Rochester. I suppose you think Mark’s is good? 🤮🤢🤮. If you say Cam’s or if you are a West sider and get those 1/4 pie slices out by the lake, I won’t disregard your opinion on all things food related, I’ll just understand you have a limited POV. Where you WNYers ever got the idea your huge slices of flavorless bread with a mediocre crunch, sauce and cheese could even qualify for pizza is beyond me. I can do better with French bread, jar sauce and pre grated mozzarella. Everyone that lives in NY should be required to go to Brooklyn or find a place owned by somebody from Brooklyn and get an understanding of why NY pizza is famous. Calling the crap in WNY, NY style pizza is as accurate as calling the Jets and Giants, NY football teams. rant off.

I voted for the best fit and to me that’s Mariota. From a realistic standpoint, MT or Fitz. I’d also be ok with Bortles honestly, he’s as close to Allen as you are going to get, unfortunately it’s more like rookie Allen on an off day, but such is life. Winston should get a crack at starting again, so don’t see that happening and unfortunately Minshew is honestly too good to be a back up so he will probably either ruffle feathers in Philly or get traded to somebody that will start him.

So you are saying there’s a chance we can get rid of Fraiser?! Yes!

Dorsey ran a lot of 12 personnel packages
DCofNC replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
YAC is great, don’t get me wrong, but if you had the very BEST YAC, you would average 2.4 yards more per throw, so let’s say 40 throws, it’s 100ish yards a game, sounds huge! Here is where I have to look at the rest of it and say, take this team out of Buffalo Weather and the team would be first in every other category for passing. Sometimes it’s footing that causes no YAC, sometimes it’s a pass to the end zone that causes no YAC, sometimes it’s out routes that cause no YAC, sometimes it’s just the play design to get to the sticks and dive forward, get the first and move on. The other reality of YAC is more routes will be middle of the field to make it happen, which means bigger collisions. It can also mean your routes are shorter/quicker routes that give your receivers a seam to work and get more YAC. This offense, with Allen, didn’t get a lot of YAC because he holds the ball forever and throws deep, much easier to get next to nothing after a catch when the ball travels 30 yards in the air and the defenders have a chance to react for a quicker tackle. He also throws deep to the end zone A LOT, again, you get no YAC. The O was not a problem, there’s nothing that needs changing, with Allen at the helm and playing the way he does, you aren’t going to be a lead leader in YAC. Could more dynamic players yield more YAC? Yep. Throw a Deebow or Chase or Lamb or Hill on this roster and their raw ability after the catch will get you more. The cast we have is not a scary one, Diggs isn’t a burner, fast enough, but not a burner. Beasley goes down super fast to avoid being killed, Davis is probably the most dynamic WR we have and a lot of his routes are to the sideline. McKenzie and Sanders never really got involved, they should have been your middle of the field find quick catches and turn it into 15, but that didn’t happen, be it scheme or what. I think some areas that could make the O better would be more crossing routes, a few more quick passes in the middle of zones, we liked to go outside to the back quite a bit it seemed, and more dynamic guys in the field. This team lacks a true difference maker on O. I know I’ll take heat for it, but Diggs is a possession guy, he doesn’t strike fear in the D. Frustrate them? Maybe. Same goes for everyone on the roster really. Davis really is the only guy who has both size and speed enough to be a problem at WR. McKenzie has the speed and quickness, but something obviously didn’t allow him to be used more. Knox could be more of a weapon and got used as such a few times this year, but he’s not enough of a focus to scare teams either. If I were to tweak the O, to try to maximize output, I’d look to use Knox more in the passing game. I’d try to get the running game going like it was late in the year and use more play action and lastly, I’d let Davis take over as the #1 and turn him loose on more than sideline routes. Diggs will still get plenty, but I’d move him inside more and let him be the best Slot guy in the NFL. He can play anywhere, so moving him around more should get him more looks and make him harder to take out of games. Of course it is all so easy to sit here and say all that, but this team was great on O and the coordinator who made it click so well was good enough to get a HC job and I’m a nobody. There may be a good reason that we don’t see that he favored what he did. -
Dorsey bc he’s familiar w everything they did the last few years. I believe the deal is already done or he would be on his way to NY.
