Here’s a couple of moves that make sense to me.
DCofNC replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bradberry would be a 13.5 M cap hit, that’s not unreasonable for a good CB. I really don’t know anything about him, but positionally, his contract is trade-able. -
Is it WFT or WTF? Why would anybody take in that contract, much less actually give up picks for him? Heineke was legitimately better than him last year and you had him for Pennies. I would have understood signing Winston, Mariota, Trubiski etc, but why would you TRADE PICKS to pay Wentz 28M?

I agree, they don’t need a #2, they need a physical #1B. Diggs is a great possession receiver, but he’s not physically take anybody out. It makes it a lot harder to win in the red zone with that. Get the guy with size that can cause a problem all the way down the field. I think Davis is coming on, but if he is good enough to compete for the job, you have a great problem.

Some guy who's been wrong before says, Edmunds to the Steelers?
DCofNC replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Please let it be true. -
There was no reason to pick up Edmunds, worst case they had a tag option, now you are stuck w a fully guaranteed contract for about 6M more than he’s worth. Could have transitioned him for marginally more. It was a bad move, anything else is just trying to justify a bad move. Beane is not perfect, contrary to what a lot of homers believe.

Honestly, doesn’t seem like enough compensation for the Hawks to me. I guess if they manage to flip one of the firsts this year for 2 next year and get loaded up, it might work out. Going to have to go full rebuild there anyway. Might as well flip what’s left for more picks.

I wouldn’t pay either of them that. Stafford was not great this year, yet he got it done. He’s a fringe top 10 guy, right there with Cousins. So I get why people would be interested in having a guy like that to get them over the hump, but you have to have a helluva team to be “just a QB away”. I don’t know if the Rams really have a choice, they gave up the farm to get him, that would be too much to have him there for a short time, even if he did get the ring. I don’t think anybody that needs a QB would be considered instant contenders with Cousins. The only situation where I see a team that’s just a QB away from being a serious contender is Indy. Cousins would be a great fit for them and in theory, they could make his demands work.. kinda hope they don’t haha.

Well you specifically said he wasn’t noticeable at UMass. I don’t see trading a late round pick for him as a change in any plans at all. If he works out, cool, if not he’s gone after training camp. They took a flier on another 1st round bust and paid him 3M for training camp, this would be less cost and who knows what you get. I agree, I like lil Dirty, but does he want to deal with McClappy’s bull####? I don’t think so.
-
Not often you get a chance at 2nd round potential for a 6th round pick. Not saying I wouldn’t take a flier pick, but this is a highly productive college player, who for whatever reason hasn’t worked out. Maybe it’s been a matter of a bad fit, or maybe he sucks, I’d be willing to take a shot. Umm he had a terrifically productive college career, over 100 catches and 1600 yards in his senior season alone.

Raiders getting calls from multiple teams for Derek Carr
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Honestly, I don’t think the difference is huge between them. I I could get back a great package for Carr, he’d be on the way out. -
I would bet somebody is going to slap down about 15M, it’s not a great QB market, and a lot of teams need one. For all the money guys like Bridgewater etc have gotten, I would think a guy who looked pretty good in Chi for a few years and the mess Chi proved they created last year along with him looking good in preseason and an expert at kneel downs, he should get a decent deal.

Like the guy, but him being here has zero impact on the Bills winning a SB

Browns reinforce their plans for Mayfield.
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Who would you put out there as a better option? He’s already guaranteed money, so you are paying him either way. -
The funny part is that was supposed to be Haack’s specialty. Overall, he just had a terrible year, I don’t know if it was just a down year or if he sucks in general.
-
I see your point on the salary of a punter, but even still, I’d look later in the draft if at all. Traditionally, punters get drafted very late, if at all. To my earlier point, I don’t think the difference is there to use a pick on one. Bojo was a good punter for no investment, his holding sucked bad enough to cost him his job. Haack is the opposite. On the overall Bojo averaged about 4yards better than Haack and aside from the SLOW kick that cost the Pitt game, it really didn’t matter all year.
-
The difference between the very best punter and the worst in the NFL is a whole 8 yards on average. A team punts on average about 4 times a game, the Bills punted on average 3.05 times a game last year. How much is 25 yards a game worth to you? (Assuming you get the very best guy and Buffalo winds don’t skew their stats back to the middle of the pack where it’s more like a 4 yard a kick difference). BTW the difference between the best punter and worst when looking at Net is only 7 yards and the best average distance punter is not the best Net. A great punter is a nice thing to have, but the amount of times that 4-8 yards makes a big difference is rare. The Bills could/should upgrade as Haack is one of the worst in the league no matter how you shape it, but to talk about a 3rd round pick is nuts.

Walter Football Mock with the Hot Take on our MLB
DCofNC replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s a win for them, take the most polarizing play and zing him, clicks are coming. I agree the Bills better have a decent back up QB, won’t be through the draft tho. -
Bills interested in signing Rob Gronkowski, per Tim Graham
DCofNC replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
He would be a huge get for this team, it would be foolish to think otherwise.
