I think it’s obvious, it’s Allen’s arm arrogance that is most worrisome.

In fairness, had the O shown up earlier in the game, they should have had a lead and put the nail in the coffin, not have to make a miracle comeback at the last second. The comeback was epic, but it does make you wonder why it took so long to get to that level of play. The D still crapped the bed, they lost the game. Could the O have put the game out of reach by getting after it earlier?

I’m near Raleigh and we seem to be in a really good pocket, no real major weather. The ice comes when you get some rain overnight, it freezes on the roads. It’s hysterical listening to the people here all warning you about “black ice” as if you have never seen such a thing in NY. They don’t have salt here, but it warms up to above freezing by like 10 am, so it’s no issue if you aren’t in an emergency to get somewhere and nothing is open anyway, they shut everything down with a threat of ice lol. The over nights get cold for about a month and then the days are mid 50’s to 60’s most of the winter, very few days it might only get to the mid 40’s. But that’s really only January- mid Feb. I have drank beers on the patio, in shorts, for New Years here 😂. Every year, I put up Christmas decorations in my shorts and sweat my ass off on the roof. The “winter” is basically fall in NY and lasts ~1- 2 months. Spring sports start at the end of February, so that kinda paints the picture. July and August are pretty brutal, but oddly, it’s not much more humid than WNY and only a little warmer most of the time, difference being it’s consistently high 80s to low 90s and WNY gets a few cooler days and it actually cools off when it rains, that’s not really the case here, it dips a little, but the increased humidity makes it still feel just as hot. It’s all a matter of preference. For me, the longer season to be outside is big, I used to get absolutely miserable from about November through March in NY. I don’t have that seasonal issue here, I just get up early to beat the heat for a couple months and I can still comfortably go outside year round and feel ok doing it. I can drive 2 hours south to get considerably warmer (SC is usually a LOT warmer, puzzles me a little), about 4 hours west to the mountains if I want more winter like conditions and the ocean is about 1.5 hours east if I feel like being covered in sand and hating myself for a day. NY is definitely a “prettier” state, especially the Adirondack region vs the Smokey Mtns, but here you stay warmer and avoid the snow and of course the taxes. I wouldn’t move back, but I sure will make it back in the fall to see the ADK area again and catch a couple games at the Ralph ( idk what they call it), before the end of the real tailgating era.

I would guess either 1) he doesn’t intend to play or is still injured and isn’t ready to play or 2) He’s willing to play, but not at less than say $10M a year for any team that might try to pull the “back-up with a chance to start” crap. I wouldn’t take back-up money when I know damn well I’m going to end up being the starter. If he was ready to play and do so at a reasonable price, I believe he would have been a Bill, but I don’t think he was going to accept what Keenum did.

It all falls to the QBs, all three teams are pretty good overall, but the QB is going to dictate their fate. I think the Pats have done the best job building around their QB to play to his strengths, the Phins and Jets have given their guys talent, but does it fit their skills? TBD I suppose. As of right now, it’s Phins, Pats, Jets in terms of threats and Phins, Jets, Pats in terms of talent.

(Rumor) Drew Brees hinting at a comeback
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
He may want to come back, but who would actually want him? He made Phil Rivers look like he had a rocket arm in his last year. -
Unfortunately, I believe you are exactly correct.
-
You are correct. So skipped a year and still needed a RB. Committed 2 3rd round picks and then used a second on a guy the GM came out and said isn’t a starter. RB along with OG, LB and DL are not positions where this front office “gets the benefit of the doubt”. They have not identified the great talent there, in multiple attempts.

The real question is where is going to play? Is he going to kick inside on passing downs and be a penetrating 3T or is he just a back up at DE?
-
If those PSL numbers are correct, there’s going to be a lot of long time fans sitting in the warmth of their own homes. Pretty ***** to have fans that have been buying season tickets for 20+ years now getting to drop thousands a seat to keep the privilege of buying season tickets.

Yeah, I’m saying he quit football 3 years ago

Tom Brady will be Fox’s lead NFL analyst once he retires
DCofNC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t watch much Fox, so idgaf. Wonder how much Kraft is funneling to him after retirement to make up for all those half ass contracts he accepted for the Pats. -
He did, but the Bills also made the right call there, he had one season in 4 with double digit sacks (10 on the nose) after he left, his first year. He was up there in years, they got the absolute best out of him. If there’s ONE thing Bellicheck has right, it’s move on a year too soon rather than 1 too late. I understand his desire to play more and I understand the Bills not being willing to pay for it. A rare instance where both the player and the team got a good deal. Absolutely one of the All-time greats. Either the refs held a grudge for a long time or this is severely over blown. He got himself in some odd looking spots because he got low and tried to bend around the corner, but it wasn’t a hold every play like Bills fans want to believe.

Nailed it. Honestly, I could see it on FGs, not extra points. If they don’t catch it, let him fire it or run. I think you are right, it would just be a time out burner until somebody said screw it, let’s see you actually run the play.

I am with you, I’m saying people have come to think of the pats system as interchangeable. I don’t think it will be so easy without Brady, period. Mac n Cheez is no Tawmy. I expect them to struggle a lot and I think not have Scarnechia (probably butchered that) will have a big impact on the line play. I expect the pats to be sub .500 this year.

I want to go, but if Jab receipts are required, I’m out.
-
Awesome. That sounds pretty BA. In all seriousness, he has to make the team before I worry about it. He’s basically the Josh Allen of Punters at this point. All the tools are there, but everyone knows you can’t fix holding at this level. Really though, he does have to reshape his punts to much more hang time and he has to be consistently good at the hold or he won’t make the team. It’s really that simple. I’m rooting for him, but he’s going to have to earn it. You know damn well this team will take the holding on kicks over the extra yards on punts, they did it all last season.

You have a point.. if it requires a current jab, I’ll happily stay home and enjoy better views on TV.
