  1. Still losing 10.9% of all the games you play in NY, all your signing bonus, all you performance bonuses etc. Its an asinine amount any way you try to justify it.
  2. You are dreaming, YOU can offset the taxes with low COL, somebody getting blasted at 10.9% of their income is not offsetting that. Allen is losing 4.4 million a year vs any no state tax team. You think agents don’t get that? C’mon man.
  3. Gotta wonder if Darnold loses, what do you do? Cut that guaranteed money or do you push him to 2 and cut Walker who will definitely land somewhere else?
  4. Those football guy have never been wrong or ignored a hole in the roster before 🙄 Once you learn to read, you will have a better chance of getting it right.
  5. I don’t really trust that part of the process, we have seen too many times where they go into the year at key positions incredibly thin and it bites them. I can’t see a plan, you can’t count on a 5th round rookie to take over, Crowder is a slot guy, and there’s no veteran depth at all. It looks like the ole “we’ll cross that bridge if we get there” plan. I hope we don’t get there. I’m sure they have Sanders on speed dial, and probably have him lined up to bring on the practice squad late in the year for a playoff run (if he’s still trying to play for a ring). They rely entirely too much on Allen to do it all. I’m not saying Julio was the answer as he had a really down year last year and I don’t know if he’s ever coming back to the old form, but somebody like him would sure be a nice safety net. Just getting digs an in series rest takes away any credible threat out there for the D.
  6. Whoa, you are going to get the Beane slobbers upset with logic like this. The Bills are THIN at skill positions and nobody wants to admit it. Shakir better show up big, that’s a tall task for a 5th round rookie. It’s like nobody wants to look at the roster and believe there’s 1 player who’s ever had a 1000 yard season, your #2 that “exploded” last year, had the same 600 yards he did as a rookie. I’m not saying he won’t step up, but that lack of difference makers on this team is resounding. Overall “good” players, quite a few on the roster, but good is the enemy of great. We can’t keep rolling with “good enough” and relying on JA to be great. That was proved last game. JA did it all, but the coaches blew multiple calls in 13 seconds all while trying to hide their “good” players from being burned by great ones. It may work if Allen plays at a transcendent level, but even Brady had a few great weapons for all his winning.
  7. Yeah, at this point I think he will be very lucky to get what Crowder did at 4M for the season. It’s late in FA, money is dried up and contenders don’t have to pay big to get guys to join them. GMs aren’t blind like some fans, he played with a QB that inflated the stats of every WR he’s played with, he’s run his mouth, he’s older and he doesn’t like to be hit. If he wants to play for a contender, he’s probably going to get a little better than Vet min and incentives. It might be an “easy” goal for him like 50 catches and 600 yards earn him another million each or whatever, but I don’t see much in the way of guarantees for him. Going to GB with Rodgers and not a lot of WR weapons would make a ton of sense for him. If he can have a good year he may extend his playing days a couple years.
  8. That makes entirely too much sense.
  9. A lot of hate for the little guy. He’s a talent, make no mistake, he’s just a douche. I would have let him seek a trade personally, but to say he’s not a good QB is just not accurate. He’s got a great arm, he’s one of the best runners at QB, he’s short he’s, but he knows how to play around that. He’s a top 10 QB, he was going to get paid. Where I see the issue is he appears to be what Josh Rosen thought himself to be, so damn good, he can do what he wants. Reminds me of Cutler in a lot of ways. Top 5 talent, bottom 5 attitude and no leadership at all. Hence, I would not want him, but you also can’t just let him walk away.
  10. 40M guaranteed and another run at FA in the prime of your career isn’t a bad opportunity. Playing for a “prove” it deal for 1 year, that’s danger zone.
  11. Love it. I’m sure he will catch on somewhere. It would shock me to see him go to a liberal city though and I feel like that eliminates a few of his good fits. If he’s after a contender, it gets even harder. Carolina kinda seems like a good spot for him in terms of how much use he could get, but not really a contender.
  12. I get where you are coming from, but all the reasons you say he should show up, are the reasons he shouldn’t. It takes ONE mis-step to injure his fat ass, now he’s not getting a contract. He’s got to try to leverage at least a couple years of guaranteed money out of them. “Settle” for a 2 year 40M guaranteed deal.
  13. Lance had better be damn good after that crazy ass trade they made to get in position to get him. Was a bad move then and now they have no choice. The problem they had, Jimmy G is a “good” QB, not elite or even really good, he’s basically the poster child for what puts your team in the not so serious contender bracket. He’s good enough to win with a stacked roster, but he’s not the difference maker you want. Basically, you can’t make a mistake on the roster with him. He’s not going to overcome a poor D or if your playmaker goes down/demands 25M a year, he won’t cover up that hole. Now they have to play the game of QB roulette and hope Lance was a hit because they spent the picks they needed to cover up for an average QB and now they pissed off their other option.. it’s kinda what the Bills did, but they didn’t make a blind trade and hope their guy was there. Beane knew Tyrod wasn’t the answer, he rolled the dice and basically decided they’d figure it out. Ballllllllsy. Thankfully, it didn’t turn out Billllllsy. I would be very nervous to stake it all on Lance. He wasn’t asked to do much in the passing game in college, he got away on being more athletic than other guys. That’s not how the NFL works. With Allen, you saw the eye popping ability, you just had to harness it all, no easy task. With Lance, does he have the ability? I’m assuming yes or he wouldn’t have been picked so high, but can you make him an NFL passer?
  14. I have a feeling they tried, but the contract is one you won’t get anything for without a contender having a guy go down. Probably felt like they weren’t getting anything anyway, might as well wait it out.
  15. Peterman looks great every pre season.
  16. I think the era of “we spent 3 first round picks to get this guy” has begun. What’s the best that can happen with Jimmy G? He wins the job and makes you look stupid m, while keeping your young guy on the bench another year?
  17. The guy averages 12 yards a catch for his career, he is not an explosive player. He’s a quick possession receiver. The Chiefs took him away because the Bills have literally nobody on the team that scares you and Allen loved his security blanket all year. It was good strategy. Take away the guy that gets first downs and see if they can move the ball. Without Allen balling out, it would have worked out great.
  18. In the event of an injury, especially late in the year, I’d call him. Otherwise, meh. If you know who he is.
  19. I don’t think the concerns are far off, Cook has not shown the ability to run between the tackles, his contact balance has appeared below average and Beane even stated he wasn’t a primary back when he drafted him. Personally, I don’t think it was a good pick and I expect him to struggle to do anything meaningful. If there’s one thing this regime has really sucked at, it’s getting a RB. They have swung and missed multiple times, I’ll go on record as saying, I think this is another miss because you drafted a guy to take the role of McKissic that you had signed for 3M a year. That’s not second round value. I hope I’m wrong, but this Cook is not Dalvin.
  20. I think you are right about Davis, I expect him to step up. I think he could be similar to Robert Woods with the Rams. He’ll have really big games and always make you account for him, but still wouldn’t be a “true” #1 if you will. If he can bring it to that level, it will be amazing. I have a lot of hope that he can, for all the reasons you stated. If you look at his measurables, he’s got what it takes to be a true #1, the work ethic is there, the QB is there, it’s a matter of it all coming to fruition. I can’t speak to Gary Collins, but he reminds me a lot of Boldin, Woods, Moulds, etc who have a similar skill set, like you said, good at everything, maybe not that particular standout quality, but you have to account for them at all times or they will kill you. Example: KC game.
  21. I think we are on a similar page, I know Diggs is a focus because he will keep possessions going, he’s just not an explosive playmaker. I think you said it well in that he’s a possession type. Mckenzie has some explosive traits, you may be right, he may just be limited in what he can do and that’s why he hasn’t gotten a lot of looks. Crowder has had some good years, in fact, statistically, he’s been far better than Beasley. With JA’s tendency to make WRs look better than they ever have, I expect he will hit 1k this year IF he is healthy. Davis is an X-Factor. IF he steps into the #2 roll and IF he can bring his play up to what we saw in the playoffs on a reasonably consistent basis, he could have a big year. That said, he didn’t make any major strides over his rookie year for the entirety of the season last year, but had one big game that everyone wants to point to. It was a great performance, hopefully an indication of what’s to come, but I’m not counting my chickens before they hatch. I agree Cook will get time and maybe it’s as a hybrid out of the slot if he can’t handle the blocking assignments. I doubt he will have any real issue, but he’s not exactly built like a tank, so it may be a problem. Either way, completely agreed they will find a way to use him, you pretty much have to with the draft position.
  22. Thank you for taking time to actually read what I posted and responding with a thought our response, it’s appreciated. While I understand Diggs will get yards if you put him one on one, he’s not somebody that teams are really scared of. He’s not going to burn you like Hill or bully you like Michale Thomas etc. He’s containable, the Chiefs proved that, but he will get his yards and there’s not much you can do about it because he is such a crisp route runner. You just don’t have to worry about him taking the top off a D. Crowder and McKenzie should get more YAC than Beasley who was just taking the catch and diving forward all too frequently. He did that when healthy, so I’m not going to say it was all injuries last year, he just doesn’t want to get crushed and I honestly don’t blame him, but it’s what separates the guys like Edelman from him. If Crowder can stay healthy, he should enjoy a career year with Josh. I hope McKenzie gets more use this year, he’s flashed quite a bit, but it seems like as soon as he’s getting rolling he’s off the field again. I’ll be interested to see if that was Dabs or McD. Cook hasn’t played a down in the NFL and won’t get on the field if he can’t pass protect, he seems willing, but is he effective against NFL players? We’ll see. He definitely has a chance to add a missing element to the O. See above.
