What separates the Chiefs from every other team…
Mikie2times replied to Bills Bud's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean how often have we watched this team look like a world beater one game and just completely lose it the next? That was the best version of a team who has taken us to the wood shed both times we played them. I don't think our shell defense gets the job done. -

Why do we somehow crush a Bengal team we have never beat after 13 seconds? -

If the Bengals had 3 out of 5 starting lineman out we would have got the job done in 2022! Oh wait.... -

Tell me - what happened to his final throw in regulation time yesterday? Mahomes threw a quick fade to the corner of the end zone. On 2nd down he had 6 seconds left and they decided to kick vs risk another throw. He took KC the length of the field and set up a chip shot under 30 yards. Tell me - what was so superb about him yesterday that mean the only TD he managed in regulation time was assisted by a punted ball hitting a Niners heel? He had the game tying and game winning back to back drives in the Super Bowl. He ran out of time on the final drive. Settled for a FG inside 30 yard line. Then followed it up with a TD in OT for the win. The Bills stalled out on 4th down with plenty of time remaining and set up a 44 yard FG. How is this same? How many game winners does Allen have in the playoffs? Before you get tempted to reference 13 seconds, make sure you check out the 2018 AFC championship game Mahomes played in. Nobody ever talks about that game because it's not his defining moment. It's become secondary to his 3 Super Bowls all won after being down 10 points (again something we have never done). Josh is Manning. Mahomes is Brady. Nobody ever said Manning was bad and most agreed he was way more talented than Brady ever was, still, nobody besides Colts fans ever said he was as good as Brady. Our fan base can keep talking about, imagine if Mahomes was on Buffalo, imagine if Josh had Reid, imagine if we had an offensive line. Nobody cares. People care about what actually happens. If it was a game about imagining Dan Marino would be the greatest QB of all time. -
Bass Makes $1 Million More per Year Than Butker

Beane and company have expressed with acquisitions or contracts that they do in fact value the kicker role. Hauschka was not cheap either if my memory serves me right. Now getting the performance on that investment is different. -

Post 7, nice work -
Hey now, they did set an NFL record for yards allowed in victory. That should count for something.

You mean the clock ran out so he had to settle for a FG. Then he went on for the TD? You like to play the hypothetical game. Do you not believe the Chiefs score a TD if they have 30 seconds more? If you can jog my memory did the Bills also run out of time?

I don't see much evidence that Mahomes is setting his team up for a field goal in that spot.

Spags Vs Mcd Reid Vs Brady

We had the ball last and didn't score.

Do you think Mahomes scores on the last drive?

I don't give him credit for nearly botching our season and then figuring out how to get us back on track. This was a Super Bowl team according to most. Then having his defense allow almost 10 yards per play against KC. Our 2nd half adjustments got taken apart just as they did against KC earlier in the year. Spags is better. How could anybody say that isn't the case? Why should we give him credit for being bailed out because we had injuries? We had injuries. They sucked. Great job Sean..... People who give him an award for this season are the same people that give him an award for being at the top of the Jets, Dolphins, and Patriots mountain top. Great view that is.

We run a very specific defense. It's very close to the Tampa 2 and has one of the lowest man coverage rates in the NFL. People can talk injuries all they want. This defense has a long history of playing like trash against high processing QB's. You saw today how many crucial stops it took from both teams to even get to OT. When have we ever got in a slugfest in the playoffs outside of the Baltimore wind divisional home game? Defense, the area our HC is supposed to be a specialist in is what fails us. We try to make it up on offense and sometimes perform well but it's not like Brady is some grizzled vet. Compared to some of these teams he might as well be a rookie. We are outclassed by a considerable margin and we don't have more talent. It's not complicated why we are stuck.
-
As much as people want to say the defense was too banged up we had the ball at the end of the game and didn't score. When you play a guy like Mahomes that's about the best you can ask for. Both these teams looked ahead of us today.

You think the Bengals will be worse with Burrow? The Texans with Stroud having another year? Kansas City with some cap room?
-
He has been in 6 straight AFC championships and did so with wide ranges of talent. What we are seeing isn't a fluke. 10 years puts him at 38 and playing that long isn't uncommon nowadays. So I get what you're saying in the scheme of history and all, but that is kind of the point of the thread. He's looking like he doesn't fit what is normal in the context of history.

Good thing the offseason is almost over -
I think we have reached the time to go to our early 90's look for a throwback one week.

It's also easier for the QB to make reads on outside routes with so much less congestion and open space.

I do love this clip with Tom Brady and Josh
Mikie2times replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was a pretty big Jordan fan growing up and now that I have gotten older I realized Jordan is a SOB in just about every way possible. Certainly worse than Tom Brady. So it really doesn't make sense to hate on Tom as much as I have. Clearly it's because I'm a Bills fan. Ultimately it's code for respect. I would nothing anybody else. The fact that I can feel anything for Brady shows respect.
