I have been a fan since 1990 and that was the most impactful punt return for a touchdown I remember Buffalo ever having. McGee had some great ones, but nothing close to this level of importance. Then he also had a 25 yard catch on 3rd and 6 on our go ahead drive at the end of the KC regular season game. His total production was completely lacking but those two plays ended up being massive as far as our playoff chances and divisional title aspirations. At that rate of pay it's a great deal. I'm also of the opinion that based on those plays he actually came closer to living up to his contract than most here give him credit for. Clearly he didn't become who we wanted. But we likely don't end up in the position we did without a few plays he did end up making for us. I have to think he can be utilized better. We will see.

Poll: How do we feel about Stefon Diggs the player?
Mikie2times replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is all three players from the age of 27-30, namely the years Diggs played for the Bills. Lets pretend Reeds additional 9,015 Yards and 60 TD's or Moulds 5,351 Yards and 23 TD's didn't also happen as a Bill. Along with Moulds 240 yard record setting playoff performance. Lets just go off the exact window of time all three played here. You don't think Reed is going to catch Diggs pretty easily with 174 more targets? You don't think Moulds isn't producing those same stats with a starting level QB? Let alone Josh Allen? This is one of your worst takes and that's saying something. -

Which player is the draft community too low on?

Beat me to it. Talented guy, looks like one of the tope recruits who just never could put it all together. I don't see him doing so when it gets that much more difficult. Elite catcher of the football. Would not mind him at all. -
Here I stand, watching the Chiefs celebrate, alone on the field, the spotlight is on me. My teammates, my friends, my Brothers have gone inside, together. Instead of being with my teammates I stand here, alone on the field, unaware that my actions do not display leadership. My actions shift attention to me, which is something I need. Something I will always need.

https://zonecoverage.com/2021/minnesota-vikings-news/stefon-diggs-admits-he-was-a-bad-teammate-at-the-end-of-his-minnesota-days/ "I hate talking about old stuff … but up to me wanting to go to another place, I was a good teammate. It wasn’t until I wanted to do something else is when I became a bad teammate. So as far as when things are going good, it’s all good until it’s not good." Was Diggs not the best teammate at the end again? How could that come as a surprise to anybody. He is a microcosm of why we can't get past the divisional round. When the going gets tough Diggs gets going. -

Insanely poor performer in the playoffs for being insanely competitive. -

Diggs was an a-hole in so many situations it would be bordering on irrational to not call him an a-hole -

We have in most peoples eyes a HOF QB and enough players acquired by Beane that we have 4 pages of justifying his actions. A coach, who many of the same people in this thread defend until the bitter end. So why is it again that our ceiling is a Wild Card win and Division championship in a trash division? Did we not just miss pretty badly in our first attempt to go all in with the cap? Did we not miss in passing on a guy like Hopkins for peanuts in comparison? Not drafting more weapons for Josh? Not prioritizing the offensive line for several years? He's a solid GM. The OP didn't say we should get rid of him. He said should he get a pass? The answer is no. He has hand in this and deserves being critiqued like any other member who has a hand in this.

OP, if it's any consolation the same posters who are roasting you also roasted anybody who said something was up with Diggs.

Not reading 20 pages to see if this was posted. Apparently Diggs could pursue a trade with anybody but KC https://apple.news/AvdrNinD1T-mmDd9HASjjbQ

Yup, his head just wasn't in the game here. But as @GoBills808 said we probably would have made it further in the playoffs. If his head was in the game and its single elimination I'm taking him all day over McD. His ability to scheme is far more advanced. I mean the dude was raised in the game. He blew his chance here but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was considered one of the premier defensive minds in the game for most his career.

Said Every Chiefs fan prior to the start of last year, at the 1/4th point of the season, at the 1/2 way point, at the 3/4ths point, and the start of the playoffs.

These are pro athletes man. You can make up for a lot of issues by just being united, synched up, and aligned toward the same things. We might have said we were those things before, but look at how we performed when the chips were down. We needed this. Like the Chiefs, we will start to peak toward the end of the year when we need to peak. This needs to be Allen's team for us to take the next step and realistically for Josh to do so as well.

100%- I will add, the dynamics with people can be extremely complicated. I think Steph and his personality made it harder for Josh to really take the leadership role by the horns. Allen came in the league and Steph was older, more experienced, more of a presence. The dynamic was fine for Steph at first, he was the alpha, the man. But I think as Allen grew into stardom Steph sort of wanted to maintain that pecking order. Josh isn't loud, he's excessively polite. He's just not the type to drop his Johnson on the ground and take charge. What part of that he did have in him, I think Stephs presence likely made him less likely to express it. But people like Josh can be that way in the right environment. It starts off by not being heavily challenged which was more likely to occur with Steph around. Over time confidence grows and you learn to express yourself as a vocal leader. Now all of our former captains gone this is Allens team. Nobody is left to challenge him. It's such a great opportunity for him to become more than a leader with how he plays. This just feels right to me in so many ways. Excited for the first time all offseason believe it or not.

I don't think he could handle Josh being such a mega star. It's fine for Steph when he's the center of attention. If he's not he starts to behave in ways to get the attention back on him.
-
Diggs does dumb things that strain relationships. He undermines coaches and teammates. He needs the attention which is a trait that has only grown more as Josh's spotlight grew. He turns around and masquerades his bad behavior and poor choices as being misunderstood or competitive. He makes you the problem not his behavior. He is a headcase, eroding talent, and somebody who came up as a no show in the most competitive situations since he has been here. Everybody around him is now better because he is gone. You can't measure the impact of a bad apple. You can't just take the talent by itself. It's not how this works.
-
Everybody wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt last year. I don't know why based on his actions. But sure, call him misunderstood. Two teams have now traded away the "star" WR. One was better for it, I suspect it will be two when this plays out.
