Can we predict this weeks draft based on McBeane’s history?
Mikie2times replied to LEBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would rather have McConkey over Pearsall but either one would be nice. Kitchens seems right up our alley. Super underrated with that 40 but look at Poyer and Hyde. Not exactly burners. -
Will we be in Super Bowl contention this year?

The rumors of teams in the mid to late 20's being interested are picking up. He has had official visits with with several teams picking in the mid to late 20's. I don't think it's a stretch like it was a months ago. https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/2024-packers-draft-visits-marshawn-kneeland https://atozsports.com/indianapolis/colts-2024-nfl-draft-visit-marshawn-kneeland-edge-rusher/ https://www.pewterreport.com/bucs-mailbag-surprise-coming-first-round-pick/ https://athlonsports.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/bills-central/news/nfl-mock-draft-buffalo-bills-first-round-pick-marshawn-kneeland https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2024-nfl-mock-draft-3-teams-trade-up-for-non-qbs-as-packers-cardinals-move-back-bears-land-franchise-qb-wr/

Random talking head says something about the Bills
Mikie2times replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't want him, but pretty sure this knocked him down a peg. Having the level of success he had would go to most peoples heads. Life has a tendency to snap most out of it unless it's that deep in his bones which I doubt. He shoveled a decent amount of crap to get where he is. -
I hope. Lots of reports have him inching into the late first round right now. It's a risk in my opinion. Especially if the juicy WR's are largely off the board.

Need to make room for more wild card banners -
They target arm length and wingspan at the position. Groot and AJ were in the top 3 DE's in that category, both in the high 80 and 90th percentile in that category. It wasn't by some accident. Kneeland is this year and they already hosted him for a visit in Buffalo. So as much as I would also hate this pick I don't think it's very far fetched. We have shown it's a position we will invest heavily in. We have need. We have shown interest in Kneeland and his profile is similar to two players we drafted prior. Don't shoot the messenger. I like McConkey a lot. He really stepped up when Bowers went down. I think he can do a lot of things for us.

If Marshawn Kneeland is available round 1 I think that is who we will pick and it's going to piss a lot of people off. Beane just doesn't seem to value WR's at a high rate.

Best examples of failed 1st rounders who revived their careers?
Mikie2times replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s as good as any. He played for 3 teams in 5 years. Didn’t start for the 49ers for several years. Eventually came to Buffalo after 5 years and turned into pro bowl player. He was a first round pick as well. -
What do you think of when you see this pic?

Who are your favorite 5th-7th rd RB prospects?
Mikie2times replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I pealed back on projection status for these guys. Makes sense if he is looking to go sooner. I know he was mocked past the 3rd round a few months ago but as far as current value I really have no idea. I'm a pretty big college football nut and he caught my eye. Most people thought he would be Taylor 2.0. Lots of good backs in this class. I was hoping Ashton Jeanty would come out but he's staying with Boise another year. He's going to be a fun guy to track next year. -
Wasn't a coincidence that Buffalo drafted Epenesa and Rousseau. They covet long arms in that position and have a history of drafting for that trait. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Kneeland ends up being a pick.

Allen is the guy I like. In 2022 and 2023 Allen was considered the centerpiece of Wisconsin's offense. He was heralded as the next Wisconsin stud running back. Bigger more powerful runner but plenty of athleticism. When the Badgers switched to the spread this year it took them awhile to get the offense going. So a little more underrated than what we likely would have seen if they didn't go thru such a huge offensive transition. Schrader is also hard not to like. Strikes me a process guy thru his bones. He was durable for Mizzo. Great pass catcher as well. I watched his entire performance vs the Volunteers and he stole the show. Impressive what he was able to do against the SEC. -
Von Miller IG story about Beane trading up for a WR

I’ve seen worse -
The last 5 super bowls had the following #1 receiving options. In addition to that in most cases these teams had another option that was pretty damn good as well. 2023: Travis Kelse vs Brandon Aiyuk 2022: Travis Kelse vs AJ Brown 2021: Cooper Kupp vs Ja'Marr Chase 2020: Mike Evans vs Travis Kelse 2019: Travis Kelse vs George Kittle Just because New England was able to do it a certain way doesn't make it a model for everybody else. Even in the 5 years since the last New England Super Bowl the game has changed even more. Other examples you give such as Megatron (horrific team) Moss (major reason for undefeated season), Julio Jones (should have won the Super Bowl) don't add up to don't focus on WR. If anything this thread tells me the Super Bowl has multiple paths for different teams. Currently we don't have a dominating unit. That could change with some positive play but that's where it stands right now. We have Allen and a lot of pieces that could come together. With that we don't have a pass catcher on our roster who has ever achieved a 1000 yard season in his career. So yes, as much as you can argue WR isn't an essential piece to the equation for many teams it is for us right now. Currently our most essential piece has no weapons and that statement would also be true for the future years unless we see Kinkaid or Shakir really take off. Very possible, but you land your insurance piece in the draft and thats how you become one of the teams above with your main pass catcher being a star with secondary options being guys like Deboo Samuel, Tyreek Hill, Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin, DeVonta Smith, etc
