We have undersized everything. Plenty of players with recent major injuries or injury history. When we have 3-4 starters on defense out by the middle of the season it's not bad luck, it's what should be expected.

JJ McCarthy or even Kurt Cousins for that matter should not influence JJ's draft slot. He's just too good.

He had a massive 2016 with UNC who was in the top 20 all year. Size and athleticism. He was a consensus top 5 pick and wouldn't have lasted if the Bears past. Mahomes and Watson didn't have the same pedigree coming out. It happens....

Thank god we have a thread telling everybody not to overreact in a sarcastic way.

MVP voters will really give a QB a hard look when they have a 3 to 1 TD/INT ratio or better not including rushing TD's. People can dislike like that comment but nobody who has won the MVP in the modern era at QB had anything lower than a 3 to 1 ratio. Josh was at that mark once in 2020 and that was the closest year he had to the MVP. I expect that season in 2023 would have done it. 2023 - 3.42 Jackson Allen 1.61 2022- 3.42 - Mahomes Allen 2.67 2021- 9.25 - Rogers Allen 2.4 2020- 9.60 - Rogers Allen 3.70 2019- 6.00 - Jackson Allen 2.22

Bengals had a 7 point or greater lead for nearly the entire 60 minutes. We answered the first drive, that was all the back and forth it was. I have no question the Bengals are the worst match up we have. They can play physical and run the ball. Then Burrow is very accurate and perfectly fine picking apart our zone. They hold the ball against us and wear us down. McD has no clue how to manage them. Burrow is something like 17 for 17 for 180 yards and 3 TD’s on opening drives. It reminds me of the Colts matchups a couple years ago.

They have 3 TD’s on opening drives in three separate games with zero incompletions. They have held the ball for just shy of 70 minutes across the two games that finished. Burrow is 54 for 80, 590 yards, 4 TD. They led by 14 with under 4 minutes last year. Currently they own us. To write that off as Buffalo just now showing up is grossly inaccurate.

This concept is funny to me as I have similarities to Josh and have been asked before to be more serious, more of a traditional team leader because I work hard. But the bottom line is it’s not who I am. It doesn’t work and it’s better for those around me to be something real than something fake. Authenticity is an important part of leadership. This is who Allen is. not something he is going to grow out of. It’s not being a class clown, he has a playfulness to him and now he goes about life and sure, it looks youthful but its not immaturity. He will be a 60 year old man and still be this way. Other players on the team need to fill whatever void this has in our leadership circle. What Allen can fill is keeping our team on track when the train is off the tracks. Keeping the mood light. All of which matters for balance. He will also feel more comfortable in leadership situations with Diggs off the team. Not a knock to Diggs but the way Josh leads, he’s not going to grab it by the horns but as he feels more like he’s earned it, he deserves to be in that place, he will turn it on more within the context of who he is.

What are you worried about? You keep saying oh, be careful. He is good. Look out! What are you basing it on? His 7-14 record vs winning teams? His 6 TD to 7 INT split vs Buffalo? Congrats to Miami on signing the Carolina world beater. He has insanely talented WR's, like the best in the NFL. Is that what you meant by "he performs well in a system"? If the best he can do is hit a 10-15 yard dig or slant and hope his WR's fluff his numbers while being undersized and limited it really doesn't matter. Borderline QB in every regard and you haven't put up a cent of data besides "look out" to justify your opinions. -

He depends on timing routes and we disrupt that with our zone. It's disrupted further when they play on the road. He has a career sub 80 rating against us in a huge sample of games. In this context it's much better to know what we will get vs the potential of an unknown. It would make me way more nervous to have Miami land a player like CJ Stroud. This guarantees it won't happen. -

He's a system QB that severely limits the upside of that team. Evident by the Dolphins 7-14 record vs winning teams in games he starts. This is a win for the AFC east. -
QB2 is a problem and has been ignored for years
Mikie2times replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our offense fits very intelligent or physically talented QB's. The option routes provide dozens of outcomes each play. It's great if a QB can anticipate all the breaks like Brady could but it also work well for a really gifted QB as it allows you to "see it" to some extent. So long as the QB has great arm strength like Mitch does this can be a very good fit. If it was Case Keenum who had very little time to learn the nuances of the system and does not have physical talent sure, I would say you have a point. As it stands if the unthinkable happens I have no doubt Mitch can win us some games in our system. -
Von Miller Saying He Probably Shouldn't Have Played Last Year
Mikie2times replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup. I don't have a problem with Von. I didn't think he was a boy scout when we signed him. His first year he clearly showed us why we signed him. He was trending towards the highest sack total we had since Mario Williams and he gave Mahomes problems. Then he gets hurt. He tries to come back as fast as possible which is what everybody wanted him to do (for obvious reasons). He plays like crap (go figure). Then he has the domestic incident and he's basically become one of our least liked players. When push comes to shove Bills fans don't like him because he tied up a lot of money while not being able to produce which is a pretty common situation in the NFL based on injuries. He took a pay cut this year which he didn't have to do and if he can return to some level of form he can be a massive addition to the defense. He's not winning NFL man of the year but people shouldn't watch football so they can find potential child care. He's very respected in the league and I expect him to turn it around this year. -
The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
Mikie2times replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
One last curiosity I have now that we know Allen and Steph's relationship broke down. Is the prevailing thought that this started during the Bengals game? If so, was it really about the not getting targeted and Steph yelling or is it possible the Allen/break up story is in fact true? I just have a hard time believing Steph doesn't get targeted and then just goes off on Allen and that is the whole story. It seems more plausible he was already pissed at Allen prior to the game and the performance and the lack of targets tipped the scales. I say this because none of Diggs teammates have ever spoken negatively or even anything but glowingly about him. I have to think if he was just a straight up a hole to Josh that wouldn't be the case. Always wanted the answer on this one and not sure if we will ever get it. -

Von Miller Saying He Probably Shouldn't Have Played Last Year
Mikie2times replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall
The animosity towards Miller is amazing. He was on track to do exactly what we needed him to do and he got hurt. This is football. It sucks, but it happens. If its about his domestic situation maybe you didn't read up on him prior to coming here. -
He's great at presenting himself and it's not a stretch that an offense led by Josh Allen will do well. He needs to show a lot more on the field but it's not a stretch to see it go that way eventually. Last time we ran a HB screen I had nice hair.

The Bills "Don't have positions" - Joe Brady
Mikie2times replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
A few positions will have a different body type but this is the future of the NFL. Look at the NBA and think about the logic of the statement. Every eligible player needs to put pressure on the defense at the same time. The modern NFL has been going this route for a long time. If I have concern with this concept it's the complexity off our option routes which many former Bills WR's said was among one of the more difficult systems they learned. At the end of the day execution is the most important thing and we have a lot of young players.
