Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
Mikie2times replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mahomes is better in what he has accomplished individually and with his team has accomplished in every conceivable way somebody could measure it. Mahomes has best performance in NFL history in the Divisional round and the Conference Championship. 29 TD's to 2 INT's with a 10-2 record. Allen has 8 TD and 2 INT's in the Divisional round and the Conference Championship with a 1-4 record. Mahomes has 3 Super Bowl wins in which he has come from behind by 10 or more points / 5 playoff comebacks in the 4th quarter. Allen has zero in both columns Mahomes has 3 Super Bowl MVP's and 2 NFL MVP's, Josh has zero in both columns Josh has never won a playoff game in OT or a regular season game in OT, Mahomes has too many to count If somebody called out Marino as the best of all time 20 years ago you would have laughed. Maybe they call him out as the best passer, the best release, the best accuracy. He was likely all those things, but he was not the best QB by anyway our society has decided to measure who is. Just because it seems fashionable to some Bills fans to alter that definition so our boy is number 1 does not make it accurate. It's also a bit dismissive to the overall goal which is to win a damn championship. I apologize if I'm not for supporting a Dan Marino like argument when my expectations are that Allen won't need your charity soon enough. -

You're boiling my argument down to nothing else matters but QB and that drive had plenty of opportunities outside of one play. Hell, with the fumble he was lucky to even get to that play. -

I wouldn't trade him either. -

Sorry captain, but my thoughts are the prevailing ones. The burdens not on me. -

So based on your logic we should be convinced the Giants had vastly better teams, better coaching, better players than those Patriots squads correct? Or maybe, Any Given Sunday, and you shouldn't build theories around random events. -

It doesn't really fall apart unless you think 100% of the games played should result in exactly what was supposed to happen. -

The thought of Brady with James, Wayne, Harrison, Dallas Clark... they probably would have won more. -

So the Tom Brady led Colts lose to the Manning led Patriots? -

Mahomes has played like an all timer in the Divisional and Championship round. Allen has played like a Hall of Famer. A big difference exists between the level of play for an all timer and a hall of famer. An all timer would score a TD on the final drive we had vs KC. A Hall of Famer may or may not. A all timer would get the ball in OT and close the door. Josh has never won a game in OT (and he has had the ball in OT in the playoffs). An all timer can't be shut down no matter the lead, Mahomes has more playoff comebacks of 7 points or greater in last years Super Bowl than Buffalo has in every year Josh has been QB. Again, to say that is not him being an all timer so we can try and prop Allen up more is just not the case. But keep rocking that narrative. It's what sells on these boards. -

It doesn't mean it was ever accurate. -

Easier to see now after our 3 regular season games vs the Cardinals, Dolphins, and Jaguars. Come on. No wonder this fan base always jumps off a bridge at the end of the year. They forget everything that's ever happened after somebody calls them pretty 3 weeks in. -

Agree to disagree here. Not worth going 20 rounds. -

So no difference in your mind between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady? How about Joe Montana and Dan Marino? Mahomes is currently in "best of all time" discussion. Josh is in hall of fame discussion. The difference, in my opinion, doesn't fit neatly into your argument. -
I saw him make the effort but he dropped the jersey.

I mean, this is based on no actual evidence. While things like full season QBR are highly correlated with a teams winning % void of any other data. -

Buffalo looking like Super Bowl champions. KC looking like they barely belong. Allen playing better than Mahomes. It’s not new. Mad respect for how we are playing, but these comments are just silly. To not acknowledge being in this exact situation before. Perhaps even multiple times. If the first 3 weeks of the 2024 season are enough to make these statements then it’s hard to take seriously. I guess if this crown is for that period of time then sure. It’s Josh’s right now. -
Does anybody else prefer to watch Bills games alone?
Mikie2times replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mostly. I don’t mind watching with Bills fans. But causal observers or non Bills fans, I wouldn’t. They’re distracting. -
They support the Padres. Fourth in average attendance this year. I think San Diego can support an NFL team, but the city won’t contribute for a new stadium. It won’t happen without a new stadium. Snap Dragon where San Diego St plays is really nice for a college stadium. I’m pretty sure that was all on the school.

I don’t know how we could look past them after what happened last year -
And how that doesn’t haunt us is beyond me. I mean, even just the 50 yarder to beat the Bengals. I don’t think we convert on that

He’s more of a pocket QB. He can move, but sort of like Burrow does. They’re actually similar.

If you think people have to eat crow over McD’s regular season results you haven’t been paying attention. He’s an elite regular season coach. Nobody has ever disputed that. He has historically poor playoff results relative to his regular season success. It’s been talked about all offseason. I will line up for endless refills of crow with a smile on my face if he proves that narrative wrong And you have to get past the divisional round to have a shot at the Super Bowl

Bears defense will finish Top 5, they were dominant the last 8 games in 2023. Houston just has a really talented offense. Always on schedule.
