  1. It would be hard to argue any team in NFL history will be more successful without winning the Super Bowl than those 90's teams. So in my view that success sort of hollows how successful our current run is. Can you possibly beat that team without winning a Super Bowl? Then you look at other times in this franchises history and it's actually rather easy to be bad. You have no expectations of anything when you're bad. In fact if anything your expectations are that you will be bad so even a little good is rather good. It's actually shockingly easy to enjoy bad teams as I'm sure many of us have during the various droughts in this teams history. Pursuing something you know you don't have is one thing. Such as when a team is bad and is trying to become a contender. At least you established you don't have it. Everything you're doing is in attempt to get it. Pursuing something you think you have when you really don't is actually pretty tormenting. Which is how McD detractors feel. Like we are stuck in the state of so good nothing will change and just not good enough for anything more. That we will spend what is likely the last franchise QB many of us could see on this coach, again, never getting that trophy. I don't think it's too complicated to see both perspectives. Both groups certainly love the team and want them to successful.
  2. He's become a pretty likeable, father like character. What's been odd to me about this subject is it really seems as if his biggest supporters feel as though his detractors actually want him to fail. That is so silly to me. No Bills fan on the planet would want an opinion of a coach to be correct more than they want to win a Super Bowl. I REALLY want him to get it done because he's a very loyal and likeable person. Deserve is a fairly loaded word, but if anybody does, he does. But as I said, I promised I wouldn't let regular season success romance me away from my thoughts. We will see.....
  3. I feel like prior to the season starting the general vibe around here could fit into four categories 1. Some posters discussed the risk of changing a HC 2. Some felt he would ultimately figure out his postseason issues 3. Some felt his regular season success was enough so far and if nothing else that should buy him more time 4. Some felt he never would figure it out in the postseason and it was a lost cause I was a #4 (go figure) and still remain in the last group. While thrilled at what we have done this year as I have hope I didn't expect to arrive at this season, nothing we did in the regular season would be able to change where I land in that grouping. We have just been too good in the regular season and that isn't where my concern is. With all that said, I get a sense that I'm a minority at this point. That based on this years performance McD has largely quieted group #4 and most posters have now shifted into 1, 2, or 3 or at least a combination of them. So I guess it's a two part question here... 1. Has the season so far resulted in you shifting from one of the groupings to another? 2. If we lose in the divisional round or earlier will that dramatically impact your perception of Sean and how this season has gone?
  4. Not going to lie, she's looking pretty sexy in a few of those pics. I'm glad I don't have money because if I did I wouldn't have money.
  5. This is Tyrod being sad
  6. Rog hit the justice button this morn
  7. I hate losing on pick sixes with under 2 minutes. One of the worst beats you can have. Been on both sides too many times. Even worse, that DPI doesn't get called they kick a FG and get the back door that way. Just a horrible beat for the Browns backers.
  8. holy F
  9. The swings on this line are just brutal. Looks like Cleveland will get the backdoor after what appeared to be a miracle cover by the Broncos.
  10. That pick was for the cover, brutal. Only thing more bloody would be to go get the back door on a FG
  11. Oh ya, a lot of issues but offense in a bottle. Watson was just awful.
  12. Doesn't seem like a huge stretch
  13. I knew the OP was wrong. It's a great topic, but I blame OP for not breaking it down in ways a 3rd grader would understand. He's probably a closet Chiefs fan and serial puppy kicker.
  14. Yup and he WAS probably looking to put a little fear in him, but as I said, when the QB is sliding, it can create a weird angle and any contact in that spot can have your noggin bounce off the turf very hard. I really don't think he was trying to hurt him as it played out. Scare the crap out of him? Knock him around a little? Sure. Very bad end result.
  15. 100%. The sliding QB is just so vulnerable to his head hitting the ground if any downward pressure is applied. This exact play has played itself out a few times now. It looks horribly violent, but occurs without a ton of contact. If you don't fully stop and come over the top even a little the QB is at risk of this occurring.
  16. This made my heart skip a beat.......
  17. I think that offense totally goes to crap when they fall off schedule. With us, 2nd and 14? Sure.....Allen is a threat to get a you a chunk play regardless of the situation. But for them, Goff is a liability when pressured. So if you can pin your ears back even a little it really can give them problems. To stay on schedule they run a lot even on 3rd down and also incorporate of ton of screens. They can roll you if you can't slow down the easy 3-5 yards plays. While I feel like they're over rated, If I have a concern at all with them it is that run game and screen game. They're sort of built to take advantage of a pursuit defense. Then, also like you said, they're feast or famine on defense. Lets not forget they haven't played practically any good offenses this year and that defense was ranked in the 30's for multiple years in a row. They have always played good run defense, but you can expose them in the passing game. Which I think we will see when they play us.
  18. It's almost like when you go from being a Junior to a Senior in high school. You can still be a leader as a Junior, but those Seniors have the swag and clearly run the show. It's never going to be fully yours as a junior. Once you finally get to be a senior nothing is left that stands in your way. It's yours to build what you please. I felt Allen in particular needed Diggs out of there as it infringed on his potential leadership. It was the first thing I remember posting. Allen is not the type to just punch faces if you don't fall in line. He's a care free, light hearted personality, and those types need to be "seniors" to really feel like it belongs to them.
  19. If something did actually happen I'm guessing the girl might have fell on accident. Perhaps the parents neglected the child which contributed to the fall. Perhaps the parents made up a ridiculous story to cover for themselves.
  20. Lions are not beating Philly. The wrong team is favored in the NFC. I called this out in the Thanksgiving game thread but the Lions have a Bills like quality as far as losing in impossible fashion. Call it the great lakes curse, they won't ultimately get it done this year. I like the Chiefs and Bills in the AFC. I would include the Ravens, but I just don't see them making it past KC and the Steelers. Pittsburgh has Lamar's number and KC is just too clutch vs Baltimore's anti clutch. Put up or shut up time for us. McD and our performance are a great story but I will forever hold out full porn mode until we show it in the postseason.
  21. Here you go. I like using a winning% filter to get rid of some noise from blowouts. Also filtered from week 9 on as I like more recent data. Use the web site below, one of my favorites for sure. https://rbsdm.com/stats/stats/
  22. NFC: Eagles, Lions, Packers AFC: Bills, Ravens, Chiefs Thinking this is the group who makes up the Championship teams. Could the Texans, Cardinals, Vikings, Steelers, or Broncos really screw some stuff up? Sure. It's a pretty deep group this year. But I like these 6 for bigger things.
  23. AJ Brown said he was the best player in the NFL. To say he isn't bringing value at a rate like Brown or Smith, who have barely been healthy this year, sort of renders your post just a bit outside. Jordan Mailata? Can we at least have some precedent with the position? If he breaks a record that’s linked to the greatest players in NFL history, the rest doesn’t matter that much.
