  1. We will try and run Jauron out of town. It's not a prediction, it's a guarantee. When bad things happen here we blame the QB and the head coach. Justified or not, this team will not turn the corner until we get longevity in both areas. Just look at Dallas and the Patriots. If Parcells AND Belichick can't win with Drew then how could we? These are two of the all time greats, who arguably have even more to work with then the Bills did. When things went south we not only rode our QB out of town, but our coaches to. Now we need to change systems, and enter "rebuilding". Just the type of recycled strategy that's led us to one of the worst records in football the last 5 years. What exactly is Jauron up against? I'll show you. Since the year 2000, 72 teams have made the playoffs. Out of those teams 45 have posted a TD/INT ratio of 1.5 or higher, or 63%. Out of the other 37% or 27 teams that made it only 4 or 15% went onto the playoffs the following year with a TD/INT ratio of 1.5 or lower again. Those team's all had elite defenses. Among them are 2000/2001 Ravens, 2000/2001 Buccaneers, 2000/2001 Dolphins, and 2001/2002 Steelers. ZERO teams achieved this feat a 3rd time in a row. The point of all this is simple. The great coaches that sustain success also have QB's who throw a lot of TD's and a small amount of INT's. The last time Buffalo had a QB with a 1.5 TD/INT ratio or higher was 2003. Drew did it once, and never could repeat that success again. Before that, Flutie. If JP doesn't turn into who we want him to be, and we don't find someone that can, it's almost certain Jauron will be run out of town. This despite that fact that no coach in the last 6 seasons has been able to sustain a playoff team without a QB that throws for a 1.5 ratio or higher. This season Jauron not only will have to deal with that, but also has to deal with a completely new team, and system. When we win, we should be thankful, when we lose we should look to grow from it. You point the finger at Jauron when we have a QB that can get it done, and were still losing. To do it before then would make us the same recycled team we've had. Just give Dick a chance!
  2. Wow, right with you on this. Had we beaten the Bears and Detroit remained win less I thought we had a very good chance of having a letdown the following week. Now I don't like the chance of a let down, but unfortunately Detroit is still win less. It's a game we should win, but the Lions tend to play well at home, and will be desperate.
  3. Hows this? Unfortunately some of our fans want to compare the last few years with our team this year. Things are completely different, this is a completely different team. We have new coaches, new players, and a new system. We executed well this first few weeks, and made some believers out of people. That's not easy do to in this league, especially when your starting so many rookies. Unfortunately we played a damn good team on Sunday. We missed on a few plays early and things really started to snow ball. Instead of trying to regroup we decided to call off next weeks game in Detroit. Instead we will be going on vacation to look for homes in Southern California. See ya at the Beach Biyatches. Sincerely, Dick Jauron
  4. For those that don't know of him check out Northern Illinois if you ever get a chance. You can see them on ESPN right now. RB Wolfe is a true home run hitter, and a legit Hesiman candidate. He's small in stature, but runs with great leverage. His agility and acceleration are outstanding, and he just levels people in pass protection. I think he could be a Warrick Dunn, if not better. That’s a great fit in our offense, and his style would compliment Willis well. Down the road he would also be great insurance in case Willis leaves.
  5. Leinhart has pop status. Losman is hardly at the level of Leinhart in terms of celebrity. He also has a much stronger arm. It would be like Pennington playing in Buffalo.
  6. A California Playboy in Buffalo? Then you have his arm strength. I don't know how that would work out in the Buffalo wind.
  7. It doesn't matter how McGee covererd him off the line. That doesn't reduce the amount of time the WR had to get in his route. That's what you have to have in this defense so the safties can roll over and help. Clements has done this well all year, Jauron has even said as much.
  8. He might not have been playing press, but the play was designed for him to make contact with the WR inside of 5 yards. It would be impossible for our saftey to play the deep half near the sideline if he didn't.
  9. I'm not suggesting we replace him this year. I just feel that if we stay in the cover 2, his best position is probably Nickleback. Clements is physical, we really need to look at keeping him. I thought for awhile that we could let Nate go, but he is a very good fit in this system. We drafted Youbouty because he's also physical, but he hasn't made any waves thus far. Ideally we could pick up a better fit in FA, or maybe in the draft. It's not pressing, but this move would upgrade our secondary. I also wouldn't be against giving Kilwaukee a shot, he seems to be playing well enough.
  10. On the bomb to Berrian we ran the cover 2. It was McGee's job at the line to slow Berrian down enough so Ko could react. He couldn't and Berrian ends up with the bomb. Jauron commented about the same thing happening last week. He's a great return man and decent corner, but he's not physical enough at the line for this defense.
  11. I'm starting to think the same
  12. Sit down Crowell your done 20-0
  13. I had DTV the last two years, the ticket was amazing. Problem is I moved, and now I'm in an apartment that doesn't have a clear line of sight. Even though the Bears are up 20 nothing, I'm thrilled I got the game streaming on Sopcast. Does anybody do this for our games every week? Or would somebody be willing to do it? I sit and listen to the audio, but god gave me more then ears. Us out of towners without the ticket would greatly appreciate it.
  14. Lee is the complete package. As a person he comes of as humble, and very mature. On the field he can make the difficult catch, stretch defenses, and create YAC yards. I still think he has a couple years to reach his potential, which is scary considering how good he is now.
  15. Very true. I guess what I'm saying is the good ones from that time are much better then the good ones from this time. I like a few modern bands that have an original sound. Maybe some will survive time, and become what bands like The Who and Zeppelin have to some in my generation. I also think repetitive listening influences our tastes somewhat. Had my parents not listened to these bands while I was growing up I don't think I would enjoy them nearly as much as I do now.
  16. Good points. I also beleive The NFL replicas should say made in China, not Japan, or visa versa. I think the Eastbay thing is legit, mainly because Eastbay is a legit company. It's hard to rationalize prices that low, but they're selling all away jerseys of players who have been around for awhile. Maybe they're just discounting last years Jersey's in the least popular style. It's still a hella deal though if it's real.
  17. Eating Gilbert Grape and his momma
  18. I'm not buying. It no doubt lowers sales, but to the point where it makes a bands income on par with a McDonald's employee? I've almost shut down listening to anything new. I won't even give most bands a chance anymore. Everything is Nickelback sounding reality MTV pop vomit. I can't speak for past generations but I don't feel that way about music from the 60's and 70's. Maybe it's just because it's not my generation.
  19. I'm starting a little business venture with Jerseys on EBAY. 90% of it is fake. Everybody claims they're selling an authentic jersey. Most are replicas, some are the new Reebok jersey which is better then a replica but not as good as an authentic. It still has tackle twill letters and numbers, but they don't have the depth or the jersey material that matches up with the authentics. Like you said the people on Ebay just assume it's authentic, and leave Feedback. The Eastbay thing looks legit, but most the time if it's under $100 no way is it an authentic jersey.
  20. Marshall is also the only team from the MAC to be invited to a bigger conference. I heard a lot about the story back in 2000 when W.Michigan brought a top 30 team into Huntington. It was the 30 year anniversary of the crash that year. Western won the first match up, then lost in the MAC championship on the same field. To this day Huntington is still one of the most difficult small college stadiums to play in.

  22. I read an article awhile back that had Dungy saying it doesn't make sense for a cover 2 team to pay CB's the type of money the market is demanding at CB. I tried to rationalize those comments by saying it's because Corners are primarily short zone defenders in this defense. Obviously that's not all they do. I'm sure we switch to man, and different looks threw out the course of a game. But when we do shift to true Cover 2 the major responsibilities of the secondary fall on our safeties. I looked up some salary information on Cover 2 teams compared to the rest to see if that had some more answers. Seems like Tampa has no problem paying top dollar for Barber and Kelly. The Colts pay nothing, and despite the talent level the Bears pay next to nothing. It's a mixed bag of results that seems to change on a team to team basis. So it was an exaggeration for me to say Cover 2 teams don't pay corners good money. At the same time if we do pay Nate what he demands this off season we will surpass the total starting CB salaries of the rest of the Cover 2 teams. It will be a interesting to see how we handle the situation, especially if Jauron and Co. end up loving Clements.

  24. Wow chills. My girlfriend bitches about so many football movies. She better not give me crap about this one.
  25. Maybe he disappeared because nobody wants to test him. I figured he was as good as gone after the season. Cover 2 defenses traditionally won't break the bank for corners. The markets way to inflated at that position and the cover 2 corner usually just has zone responsibilities. Maybe we make Nate the exception, but I'm still pissed we gave away our leverage by promising not to franchise him. Since when is it a sound strategy to let the player hold all the cards? Even if it would have made some headlines during the off-season, Nate is valuable commodity for us, and this was a bad move by the Bills front office. If we could only let TD do our staring contests and nothing more.
