  1. I'll just let this go. Some good debate but things have got way to confusing.
  2. Watch him go to Denver and rush for 1500 yards. By the way, the last player who dominated the MAC to this level was Randy Moss. Wolfe is more dominant then he was so far.
  3. I just love watching this guy play. The guy disappears, and then shows uncanny acceleration and agility. His top end gear is not the best trait he has, but it's still more then enough to break the big gainers with that type of acceleration. No doubt the line needs to be addressed but I just love the versatility he would give us. It would be a hell dealing with so much quickness on the field. Plus he's known as a character guy, the type Marv likes. I'm not saying get rid of Willis, just compliment him. Give us the dimension so many other teams have.
  4. I bet he posts a sub 4.45, which is damn good for a RB at the combine.
  5. I don't expect many on this board to take the Lions seriously, after all this is a team that's been worse then Buffalo the last few years and is 0-5. The Lions however are a very real threat to us. The oddsmakers opened them as a 1 point home favorite. They will win some games this year, and had close games in 4 of 5 they played. That included the last two on the road. Traditionally this is a very weak road team that plays .500 or better at home. Being winless makes them more dangerous. In the scheme of things the Bills are the better team, but in this situation this game isn't more then a 50/50 proposition.
  6. Thats a matter of opinion. Mine is Oline play is effected by how well you throw the ball. Every play doesn't end up in pressure or a sack. QB's with piss poor lines will have chances to make plays. The more they do it, the less pressure the offensive line receives. The less apt a defensive cordinator is to blitz. How else can you explain New England going threw 4 starting lineman last year, yet still getting solid protection. It's a balence, but QB performance still plays a big role.
  7. It's a nice thought. I just don't have any confidence the Bills will do it seeing how we've said that for a decade. Wolfe would be the next best thing.
  8. In true Drew fashion he did complete the Hail Mary to Glenn on 4th and long. Cowboys have a chance, pick 6 the next play. That was without a doubt one of the worst performances I have ever witnessed from a QB.
  9. If your opinion is the light, then I'll stay in the dark.
  10. I'm looking for consistency in the organization. I'm looking for us to stick with Jauron even if things don't go well. Only one time since the playoff drought began has Buffalo went over the 1.5 ratio. Obviously the line, WR, RB, etc all play a role in that. I proved how hard it is for coaches to overcome bad QB play. Williams and Jauron (two defensive coaches) will have almost zero influence on that number. Yet if it doesn't improve, history has shown, and will continue to show that he will not be coaching here long.
  11. All of the QB's you mentioned had near career years, and a ton of support in those years. Again the point of this argument is not you can't be good, or have good years without a good QB. The evidence I provided actually showed you could. But it also showed it's damn near impossible to continue that success unless the QB stays above the 1.5 ratio. If he doesn't it very unlikely you reach the playoffs the next year. The evidence is overwhelming. The only guy on your list to buck the trend is Dilfers Ravens, who probably had one of the best defenses of all time.
  12. History sure looks like that worked out.
  13. Or Cool people with big Johnsons
  14. You know your right. I bet when Buffalo made the trade for Bledsoe the first thing they did was look for game film from 1993. Just to make the study even more relevant they also tried to sign Ben Coates.
  15. I don't need to look up the Washingtons INT/TD ratio when Gibbs was around because I know that it was atleast greater then 1.5 in 2 of the SB teams, and probably better in all three. I never said a Coach can't influence QB's and the rest of the team to play better. But how do you explain the dozens of examples in which a team sucks, has a defensive minded coach, then all of sudden turns into a power with nothing but a new QB? Or a coach has had great succuss then all of sudden they suck with a diffrent QB? Your making it as cut and dry as me saying bad QB = bad coach. All I ever said was coaches struggle badly without good QB play. That if you never see a good QB while your coaching odd are you won't be coaching long. Only 14% of playoff teams have put together back to back appearences without a 1.5 raitio or higher. You can interpret that anyway you like.
  16. Whats Drew's record against winning teams? How many playoff games has Drew led his team to since 2000? How many years did it take New England to become a Super Bowl winner with Brady? How many Fumbles has Drew lost since 2000? How many oputunities did Drew have to win yesterday? If you answer any of these questions with.... He led New England to the Super Bowl in the second half against Pittsburgh, or He almost made the playoffs, or the offensive line sucks, or he just needs Blank...well join the club. New England, Buffalo, and Dallas all said the same thing.
  17. First try and disprove what I'm saying with facts if you disagree with it. Second You don't find it the least bit intresting/coincidental that nearly every good or great head coach has had a good or great QB? That teams magically go from winner to losers right when the QB is changed or breaks threw? That an overwhelming amount of coaches are fired, without ever getting good QB play? The NFL has far more examples of great QB's that made bad or average coaches great, then great coaches who made bad or average QB's great. It's a fact, not scapegoating. I'll be happy to run off a list, since I can think off about 25 examples off my head, of defensive type HC's that were losers for years, until a QB came in a changed things. Obviously a Defensive coach would have zero impact on that.
  18. The same Bledsoe that played in Buffalo, and now Dallas after years of being destroyed? He was a diffrent player then. As for Lomabrdi you just mentioned the greatest coach in football history. I would hope if anybody could win without a great QB it would be him. Then again Starr is in the Hall, along with about 10 other players from the 60's Packers.
  19. I agree. I just hope we take a more patient approach this time around. That's not to say Mularkey or Williams were good here. I haven't made any comments saying as much. But I do know they had a very small chance at be successful long term with our QB play. Looking at the odds of a QB making it, JP is more likely to fail then succeed. We need to keep him in for consistency's sake, and the hope that he can put it together. But he fails then what? Are Bills fans patient enough to wait and see on another QB? At this point were at year 3 with Jauron, and need more time for a QB to develop. Jauron wouldn't survive. We will hire a new staff, and once again enter rebuilding. It's a sick cycle that's killed any chance of consistency the last 5 years.
  20. So we should hold Jauron and the Bills to this one example, and not the 100's of ones that contradict it? The truth is without a decent QB no coach in the NFL will get a fair shake. The ones that have QB's get way to much credit, and the ones that don't get way to much blame.
  21. Kordella but Mularkey was the OC, not the HC. This topic, and my comments only refer to HC's and QB's.
  22. Like I said, think Dunn. He still runs with power despite his size, and loves running inside. He plays with chip on his shoulder. He posted over 125 yards against Michigan, and 225 against Northwestern last year. This year he posted over 160 yards against Ohio State. This is elite competition for the most part, behind a MAC line. His average is almost 10 yards a carry!
  23. Uncoincidentally Marv Levy is considered a great HC. I defy people to come up with examples of HC's that had success for an extended period of time without a great QB. I could come up with 100's of examples of great HC's with great QB's. The relationship isn't independent for some of those names, but for many it is. Still we expected/expect Gregg, Mularkey, or Jauron to right the ship no matter what happens at QB. Not how it works folks.
  24. Whether or not they deserved to be run out of town remains to be seen. As the stats clearly indicate you don't experience consistent success in the NFL without good QB play. If you do, the overwhelming majority of teams have lost it the following season. The coaches we ran out of town had a QB that neither Bill Parcells or Belichick have done crap with. Both are Super Bowl winning coaches, and both have had superior talent then the Bledose led Bills teams Mularkey and Williams had. The only person that would tell you otherwise is TD before the start of each year.
  25. Which is exactly my point. If you look at it year to year it's unlikely your team will go to the playoffs unless your QB throws 1 1/2 TD's for every INT. We almost made it in 04 despite not reaching that level. The fall from grace the following year is pretty much the exact same thing every other team experiences. I like Jauron more then Mularkey, but Mularkey got rode out of town because he couldn't accomplish something very few head coaches have over the last 6 seasons. Who's to say JP won't continue to struggle with the TD/INT ratio, like this whole team has the last decade. I'm pulling to stick with him for consistencies sake, but the odds are still against him, which means that odds are still against Jauron surviving. Jauron will not survive if JP doesn't. That is unless Marv bucks this trend. Just wait, if Greggo gets his chance again and has a QB, I bet we will regret the day we let him go.
