A Proposed List of "Surprising" Picks at 11
Mikie2times replied to Fewell733's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Crowell is a good cover 2 OLB, but not the ideal cover 2 OLB. Looking at the market this year you know he will demand a heck of a lot of money next year. I think a pretty good chance exists that he will not be in Buffalo after this season. If the Bills feel the same the need at the position becomes MUCH larger then anybody has given it credit for. Mayo is a stud, and perfect fit for what we do on defense. He combines great speed, size, football smarts etc. If most the top talent is off the board (as projected), and we stay put, I see few who we can feel as confident in as Mayo. So what you have is a great player, fitting our scheme perfectly, in a potential need area..... We've shown in this regime that we will pick who we want no matter what the gurus say. As it stands Mayo is getting closer and closer to not even being considered a reach. We have a defensive based head coach. He's one of a handful of players we know the Bills have brought in for an interview. The more you break it down, the less he belongs in the "surprising" thread. -

Ever say things out of anger or frustration that are in the heat of the moment? If people summarized your maturity and character by these isolated situation would that be indicative of who you are? The guy was questioned before the dust even settled. He didn't even walk off the field before he was inundated by reporters . This was very important to him, for a million reasons. Nobody from Oklahoma ever had a problem with him. They all vouch for his character, I think most teams are putting the situation in proper context. Overweight and out of shape in the midst of an injury, which is why he couldn't perform. How in shape can you expect him to be when you can't perform any physical activity and his body is used to extremely high levels of physical activity? He's not supposed to be a speed racer. He's a possession/red zone/over the middle player, who on film, has very good playing speed (not according to just me, but several scouts, including our own). If you judge even WR's by just 40 times, you'll miss a thousand times over. For who he is, and what he brings, his low 40 only devalues him a round, maybe two. -

More evidence that JP should be the starter
Mikie2times replied to keepthefaith's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your logic has so many holes it's beyond comprehension. Without getting incredibly in depth the only real fair way to compare is only counting the games one or the other attempted all the passes in, especially if your counting rushing yards. It also means counting all rushers towards the average yards per rushing attempt, not just Lynch. You might say Lynch didn't start all the games for JP, then I might say thats counteracted by the improved RYPA Losman brings with scrambling, which I saw in numerous games after I broke this down. Before I digress to much lets get back to the idiocy..... You don't factor in the run defense/pass defense strength the two faced, or the weather conditions Trent faced at the end of the year that JP never faced. Conditions that screamed stack the box. I'll break it down for you in a fair way, but before I do I know one thing for sure, Evans should always have better numbers with JP then Trent. Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. They both excel at the same thing, namely getting the ball down field. Thats why they both got drafted together, and thats why Lee was crying for JP the whole year. If you want to build an offense around a QB who can only go deep, because his best wide outs best strength is to go deep, I'll show you a thousand ways to defend that. Actually, I don't have to show you anything, just watch the Bills games during the JP era when he and this team was riddled with inconsistency. On to the FAIR comparison. JP started and finished Denver Pittsburgh Cincinnati Miami New England Jacksonville Average rush defense faced: 4.3RYPA Average pass defense faced: 198.7YPPG Average Temperature: 60 Average Wind: 7.8mph Bills average RYPA in these games: 4.06 Evans average yards in these games: 51.8 Trent started and finished vs New York Jets Dallas Baltimore Washington Miami Cleveland New York Giants Philadelphia Average rush defense faced: 3.9RYPA Average pass defense faced: 211YPPG Average Temperature: 50.4 Average Wind: 13.9mph Bills average RYPA in these games: 4.05 Evans average yards in these games: 49.1 Edwards and our RB's faced run defenses .4 yards better then JP and finished with a YPC average of .01 yards worse. JP and Lee faced pass defenses 12.3 yards better then Trent and Lee. JP and Lee averaged 2.7 more yards in then Trent and Lee did. JP averaged playing in temperatures 9.4 degrees warmer then Trent, and with 6.1MPH winds less then Trent. Trent played in three times the amount of precipitation then JP. Putting stats in context suck for those who don't, and form theories based on that. If you wanna come back latter, I'll be watching you got served. -
Statistical expectations from Trent Edwards this season
Mikie2times replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bingo. How can nobody else see this? Jauron has never had a QB, or any talent on offense to work with. Makes sense to throw it 30 times a game in that situation.... -
Type in "the zoo" on you tube. It will pick up several covers that band did, not just journey, they got Bon Jovi, Boston, Rush etc... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf-2Rk_uIPU Boston http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPK3-33ouhw...feature=related Bon Jovi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDhOYktUhyQ Rush His ability to sound like the original singers is flat out crazy. Regardless of what people think of him replacing Perry he's an incredible talent in his own right.
-
Pathetic maybe. But you gotta admit the dude sounds just like him.

I might be living under a rock to just have heard about this, and I apologize if it's already been posted. The resemblance to Steve Perry is uncanny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nnNji6s3ck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88nfiZ-yy5Q

Trent Edwards College Recruitment
Mikie2times replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trent is not a guy that picked a school based on his football aspirations. I've read he would retire early just to pursue humanitarian efforts. The school he picked was relevant to his ambitions, and future goals. Retiring early is something people might laugh at given his youth, but most articles point to him having greater importance in people, and those who are less fortunate then football. This isn't a guy who got in the spotlight and decided to make a difference. He decided to make a difference as a teenager and his current job just gives him that much more ability to do so. I know in my life I've met few men of such character. I'm glad we have a person like that whose just as dedicated to the game as he is to those less fortunate then us. -
does it matter kelly ran 4.68?
Mikie2times replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love how some are calling this a tantrum. The guy flat out delivered on the field. His on field performance had him projected to make several million dollars more then what he now stands to earn. Lets say you kicked ass at your job and made great money. Then your company made you perform an aptitude test that you didn't do so well at. They then cut your salary in half. Would you be throwing a "tantrum". You can debate the analogy, but the guy is getting screwed more then Jenna Jamison at this point. -
John Carlson... Personal meeting with Buffalo
Mikie2times replied to ans4e64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I REALLY like Fred Davis, but the difference between him and Carlson is minimal, and I actually think Carlson would be a better fit for the Bills. On film he plays with Jeremy Shockey type passion, but without the attitude and immaturity. His ability to stretch the field is grossly underrated, and he's probably the second or third best blocking TE in this draft. I like everything about the guy and would be thrilled if he ended up with the Bills. -
Welcome. Let me give you a taste a what to expect. Why the hell did you post this on the main forum? You know the board has a area for new members.... Frigging LAMP post, must be a pretty lonely guy. Hell, a guy like you would probably support the team if they moved to Canada. J/K by the way. Enjoy the bi-polarness that is the stadium wall, and be sure to wear a condom at all times.

Limas Sweed 8======D Kelly
-
Sorry dude, not similar players at all. Watch some film and you could see that. Look at height and weight and you can't.
-
Is he the 11th pick in the draft anymore? No. As an avid proponent of his I will even omit that. But if he's available to us in the 2nd round he has the stuff draft steals are made of. Anquan Bolden, who many compare Kelly to, faced nearly the exact same devalued circumstances based on his 40 time. Jerry Rice, arguably the best receiver of all time ran in the high 4.6 range at best, some say even in the 4.7 range. The 40 yard dash is one of the most overrated measuring sticks in football. It has no guarantee the player has the real speed needed to play this game, football speed. If you watch tape on Kelly, it's clear he has great football speed for a man his size. It's also clear he has far more going for him then just that. Incredible over the middle potential, hands, body control, leaping ability, the list could go on and on. He likely wasn't fully recovered for this work out, and shame on his agent for sending a letter that he was. He was forced to run to justify his draft position, a position most predicted would be in the mid teens based on what he did on the field. Shouldn't that be the place that matters most? This isn't a guy that missed substantial amounts of action in college. A few games sure, not full seasons, or even half of one at that. We see good players injured all the time with knee and leg issues, who end up being or remaining great players post injury. One of our all time second round steals should come to mind in Thurman Thomas. Imagine where these types would be drafted if forced to run before they recovered? The season is months away, and he will heal, so why does it matter how healthy he is in early April? Kelly has every right to be pissed right now. He's being treated like beaten mule, and lost millions for everything but his on field performance. He will have a massive chip on his shoulder for whoever lands him, and I would be thrilled if we could get him in the 2nd round. When the dust settles, he will be twice the player Hardy or any other post 1st round option would be. I for one, still think he might end up being the best WR in this class. Flame away

Thats a very unfair comparison (rookie to potential hall of fame RB), past that, it's just a flat out horrible comparison of two players. Makes me wonder if you ever watched Thurman or Lynch to be able to make of comparison of them thats anything past receiving ability. Two completely different players all together. TT was never a "power runner", he just had an amazing ability to sneak threw cracks, shiftiness, never let defenders get a full piece of him. Lynch, in his rookie year, was already more of a power runner then Thurman ever was. He created practically every yard he got last year. He initiates contact almost every play, and it took multiple defenders to bring him down almost every play. The run blocking was atrocious. His ability after contact was incredible at times last season. TT just never took on that much contact, he had an amazing ability to avoid it by shifting or contorting his body to perfection. THATS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY HE WAS GREAT, not because he put his head down and ran over people. Heck if your going to compare Lynch to a hall of fame RB his style resembles Walter a hell of a lot more then Thurman.

I just started playing with this thing. It ROCKS! Like you said you can build play list streams under your account free. Pretty much taking your music anywhere with a computer. Plus you can sample others who might have similar tastes, add songs to your play list with click. Songs load instantly. I love this thing.

http://www.playlist.com/ Not sure how many know about this site. Just type in any song, and press play. It plays at CD quality instantly. I found some pretty obscure ones, so I'm sure they have a lot of music in the database. I love it, turned me onto a lot of bands I would never have heard of before. Fug pop. GREAT STUFF!

I would say that it would only matter if he was a drinker, but then again my dad only has one kidney and he still manages to be a professional at that.
