Some people enjoy discussing some of the early draft stuff during bowl week. You don't have to join the thread if it don't want to.

We will need a back up and nobody can say for sure if we might need more then that down the road. Tuitama is pegged as a mid rounder but I expect his stock to rise. He has NFL size, runs a spread passing offense, huge arm, pocket presence, and mobility. His decision making has been his only crutch but he's progressed every year at Arizona in that department. He's not slow to make reads like a JP, more just prone to forcing things. If Buffalo feels he can get past that flaw he would certainly warrant some attention in April.

James Hardy Analysis
Mikie2times replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I posted the same thing a few weeks ago and got slammed by people just like many have done about this guys article. We all get it people, it takes WR's more time to develop. Problem is time won't create the athleticism to gain separation. It is so incredibly obvious Hardy lacks athleticism. He can't make cuts, he can't accelerate, and he can't out run people. Hardy will be out of football in 4 years or less. -
Right, since TO fell over he's remotely comparable to Hardy. I could give a crap whether or not you believe me, Hardy will never amount to anything because he's not athletic enough to get open.

http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...p;#entry1186633 This is thread I started last week. I don't think Hardy will ever develop. The reasons I stated in this thread ended up being painfully obvious today. At one point Hardy made a cut and just toppled over.

A 4-0 start skewed what this team really is, an above average team in a parity filled league. A team that’s capable of beating anybody, while still being capable of losing to anybody. It’s safe to say we have all fallen back to earth, but is falling back to earth such a bad thing? At the start of the season if somebody told me we would be 5-3 in a tie atop the division I would have been pretty damn happy. Now we have a fight on our hands, and if you didn’t expect that or it makes you hit the doom button shame on you. What we do from this point forward will define our season. Not the last two weeks.

Concern over our top 3 draft picks
Mikie2times replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Speed is created by stride length, and the speed in which your legs are moving. You often hear the term football speed being thrown around. You can't tell who has football speed from 40 times because it depends so much on how you run. Football speed is the ability to cut, start, and stop quickly. It's rare for stride runners to have football speed. Most tall WR's are stride runners, hence the reason you don't see them more often in the NFL. They can't create separation because they don't have football speed necessary. Hardy is clearly a stride runner, and IMO clearly lacks football speed. While I pray I'm wrong, I envision a Matt Jones like future for him. -
Concern over our top 3 draft picks
Mikie2times replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WR's probably have the largest transition time outside of QB. I did factor that in. I feel like I can factor that out to some degree because he lacks certain must have skills to play WR. Skills that will not improve with time and have no relevance to experience. He can jump, he's tall, he has good hands, and he has good straight line speed. Thats what I would say he's good at. What he's missing is the physical skills to get open, which above all is the most important aspect of being a WR. He has no quickness, no agility, no explosiveness. I just don't see him ever being able to create separation. Lot's of over sized WRs have a problem with this and as a result many have busted. -
I agree you can't make a judgment on a rookie, they need time to develop. That said I’m starting to get concerned about our top 3 picks. McKelvin was highly touted as a return man in college, even more so then he was at corner. So far on returns McKelvin looks hesitant and sub par. He hasn't brought anything to our return game and is nowhere near the skill level of McGee in that category. At corner we really could have used him today. Apparently the coaches feel an unhealthy McGee is still a better option then McKelvin. That doesn’t sit well with me. Rookies CAN make an impact at corner and in the return game. Right now McKelvin can’t make an impact at either While I’m concerned about McKelvin, our next two picks really scare me. Hardy has no explosion, no ability to separate, no agility. He’s not good at running routes and he’s not physical. The word gumpy comes to mind when I watch him move. While it takes Wide Receivers the longest to adjust, I just don’t see him ever developing. Is Ellis even on the team? You would hope he would get involved in the rotation with Schobel out. Instead we saw Copeland Bryan. Who the heck is Copeland Bryan and why is he better then our 3rd round pick?
-
I thought he was going to be a bust before the draft but I'll give him a few years. It takes wide outs a long time to get adjusted. For him I expect it to take longer because he leaned on his height and leaping advantage so much at Indiana. Now he needs to run precise routes, learn how to set up corners, refine his skills..... He might never be able to do those things which was why I felt the way I did at draft time. That said it's WAY to early to tell.

**Bills vs. Raiders OFFICIAL Game Thread**
Mikie2times replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Miami is beating New England, Bengals beating the Giants. Lets face it, all teams have uninspired games. That said many of the good teams find a way to pull these games out. We still have a half left, lets see what happens. -
Everybody, THANKS SO MUCH!!. This will be going straight into my savings account and put towards a down payment on my first home. I need to finish the celebration soon, work early tomorrow. GO BILLS!!
-
If he's out for a long time we have a shot at the division.
-
Increases your payout odds. If you take one team +200 it's like taking 2 teams against the spread.
-
It paid over 100 to 1 because I took three underdogs to win straight up. The parlay structure is pretty close no matter what place you go to.
-
I can't hedge this. Just can't. I understand why everybody wants me to. I thought about it for a long time. Bottom line, if I lose, I lose $100. I can live with that. Sure you could say I'm actually losing $5,000 because I could guarantee that with a hedge, but if the Bills win, and I hedge, I could also say I just lost $5,000.
-
Thanks man. It's more like good luck to all of us. We need this just as much as I need this. This teams downfall has been it's slow starts. As for the tax comments, I did this for a living for 3 years. Now I hold a normal job, 6 days, pretty much office space * 100. This won't get me out of it, but it it could spark my imagination (always wanted to run my own show). MI/OH state doesn't let you net out your wins and losses like the feds do. Still, I paid taxes like a good boy. If you gamble in those two states and follow law you might as well stop gambling.....That is unless you can net a big win without spending much like this would be. This was my first, and could be my last play of the year if it works out.

I did this as my job for 3 years. I'm a stat freak, a historian, a football nazi. I played in college. I understand emotions and variables as they relate to football. I've spent/wasted so many years of my life trying to understand it all. I'm shocked this parlay survived. I've been doing this long enough to know this was a special sequence of events that made this happen. I made some good calls, got some good breaks (you need to). Bottom line, I can drive to Windsor in less then an hour, hedge the bet, make 5 G's on my $100 bet and call it a day. F that. I believe in this team. We will win tomorrow. This is my team and I refuse to hedge my bet. I usually stick to the rules of professional gambling, one of the biggest says don't follow emotion. But I didn't in this regard. I'm sticking to my guns, we will win tomorrow because we have a better team, a more hungry team, a more understudied team, and it will be a great day for all of us. GO BILLS!!! Tomorrow is our day!!!!! Go big or get the F out of town!!

Been here before guys, you saw my post. I had a pretty massive win two years ago. I posted on it. Crazy day that was. Here I sit again. I had a 6 team parlay, 5 have concluded, 5 wins. 3 with + odds. I've been debating on going to Windsor with people close to me. Hedge my bet. Guarantee $5,000 or more. I have about 10 people lined up to bring funds expecting a kick back. Screw that. This is my team. These are my Bills. We will win tomorrow. I will win 11k. If I wasn't sure I would drive to Windsor and guarantee myself $5,000. We will win tomorrow!!!!!!! GO M'UCKIN BILLS!!!! I'd like to see some of the Jauron bashers around here
Mikie2times replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel he's never been in position to be more aggressive in his offensive approach. To do so with the quarterbacks and offensive players he's had would decrease the chances of winning. He's just had no offensive talent in all his years of a coaching. As a result he runs a very conservative approach which helps average talent win. I can't imagine what our record would have been the last two years if we opened it up as much as some people want. We either didn't have the talent, we didn't have the experience, or we didn't have both. We don't need to be Fairchild asleep, but I don't think DJ wants that either. I agree that fundamentally the strength of a team is it's lines, but no evidence supports that drafting lineman makes you successful. The only thing that makes you successful is drafting good players. We keep doing that and we will be fine. -
JD went to Utica Eisenhower, I watched him a few times in high school. He played with his brother Joe who was an exceptional QB and Safety. His brother actually went to Buffalo University for a year before transferring over to Saginaw Valley State to join John. I saw them both in the MHSA state championship game. I think JD was a senior and his brother a sophomore or freshman. That team was impressive, both brothers stood out as men amongst boys.

I would like to formally apologize

1. If you’re ready to declare him the right guy, when you weren't before, just because he played well his 2nd preseason game of this season, I wouldn't give you much credibility. 2. If it took you until now to realize he was the guy, I wouldn't give you much credibility. -
What if Trent completely chokes the first couple games?
Mikie2times replied to marioc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? I'm not. I don't post very often anymore. The wall is lame, filled with people like yourself. 100,000 opinions, no facts. Stats don't matter, film doesn't matter, nothing of relevance matters. I've been here for a decade, not years. Since the first web page. You picked on my post count. I don't post very often anymore. I'm just a factual based NFL historian of 20 years. Again, bring logic into this discussion. Your opinion means nothing to me, as I'm sure my opinion means nothing to you. But if you cut the crap I'll load you up with so much stuff you won't say stats mean nothing, unless your illogical, which seems like a real possibility. I can back up everything I say, very easily. I'm no hard ass, just a guy that recognizes bull when I see it...... So you like JP, again, why do you like him? Or should I trust Risin's ability to scout a NFL QB based on opinion. Give me a break. Again, if you want to turn this into a actual debate I'll make you look like a fool in 5 seconds. I like ___ because he's ____ means nothing to me. Your just another TBD fool who doesn't know his a$$ from a post pattern. -

Stats? Logic? You sleeping with boys....It's all the same.
