I didn’t know you had to like Sean McDermott to be a Bills fan. -
Houston has made several very good QB’s look very bad, including Josh. But Allen is clearly head and shoulders better than Herbert

Josh Allen vs Tua, Wilson, Mac Jones. Those AFC East crowns aren’t enough. Allen = playoffs, how much more has he accomplished that isn’t basically the floor of this franchise? -

About as much as coach that can’t get it done in the postseason targeting right before the playoffs to roll out the warm and fuzzy PR. Want the posts to end? Get past the divisional round. -

It’s not the best passing stats void of every other factor. It’s the best passing stats on usually the most successful team. The NFL has been this way for its entire existence. This is the first place I have seen rushing stats always listed in the same grouping as passing stats. Which is logical in some ways, not logical in others, but not how the rest of the league is viewing the data. -

When they show a QB’s stats on TV do they show his rushing TD’s with his passing TD’s? They don’t. As a result they don’t get looked at equally and really, in the scheme of the MVP they haven’t even mattered historically. Argue that if you want, but that’s where the evidence points. -
Chris Spielman to interview for Jet's GM position

So if a team changes to having good ownership that’s all you need? A decent owner puts you in a better position to get the right people but if you don’t do so it won’t matter and that process isn’t an exact science. With Campbell it would be for nothing. -

We can argue all day about who had the better year, but if you take away Josh we likely have a bottom 20 offense and finish with 7 wins or less. Ravens are still a wild card team. Nobody has equaled more wins by himself than Allen this year. The AP vote just reinforces that. -

The very best player this iteration has acquired outside of Josh is Diggs. After that, maybe Taron or Hyde. These guys have been really good for us but that is the VERY best. In his last draft, Whaley targeted White, Dawkins, and Milano. I would argue his final draft was better than any 2 drafts combined, maybe even 3 that we have seen since. That's not to say I'm advocating for somebody like Whaley. But the current regime does not have a clear history of elite talent acquisition. They have got a lot of + steady eddies. But it's not surprising we are largely void of top 100 lists, Pro Bowl players, and All Pro's. We don't have them. -

Which team are you most scared of in the playoffs?
Mikie2times replied to margolbe's topic in The Stadium Wall
The answer was the Ravens, but the MVP things has put a little chip on the fan shoulder. F um. -

Teams don't build rosters the same way. We make a very intentional effort to sign our B+ drafted talent, which in turn prevents us from other methods of acquisition. If you're asking me to show you 5+ teams that have acquired half a dozen B+ level players the last 7 years sure = SF, DAL, PHIL, KAN, BAL, DET. All have better rosters than us and the list is likely longer, I just don't want to get too deep in the weeds. Our roster is not bad, its is probably somewhere around the 7-10 range, but it is largely void any A talent outside Josh and that really hurts deeper in the year. The list below is all pro bowl votes excluding skilled positions. So it's a big roster. Way larger than even the normal pro bowl voting, over 100 players per year. 2021-2023 -
I will add, I would have probably given Lamar first team AP and Josh MVP. You can make an argument that one had the better season and the other was the most valuable player in the league. I think that is the right argument to be honest.
-
I have a little horse in the race for this thought process. Bovada is not putting up a line they don't think is accurate. They have it it at -220 for Lamar. So about 65% implied odds. Which makes sense with the AP history. But with that, Allen closing the year at -200 or better and still losing would be just as unprecedented as anything else. So to say he can't win now just based on the 1st team AP always winning, well, I don't think anybody knows right now and I would just throw out the historical info. I would give Lamar 60% likelihood or so, but this thing is not locked up. Your scenario is absolutely possible.

Is Dawkins the #1 or #2 tackle in the NFL? Is Brown? -
He played well in 3 of his first 13 games in that image. Time has clouded your judgement.
-
I grew up watching him just like you did. He had an atrocious start to his career, got better later, had some excellent games. All said, fair below his regular season pedigree. He literally has as many games he was directly responsible for losing as winning. Playoff hero, he is not. So what is Allens record vs Mahomes in the playoffs? Does that tell the whole story for that comparison?
