I spent most my life 15 minutes outside Ann Arbor and in Toledo. The Detroit suburbs make most parts of Ohio look like trash TBH. A reason exists you can live in Ohio at about the lowest cost of the US. Maybe it's the football team. 😘

Maybe next year guys.
-
Another year Jr.

I feel very good about all of it really. I think we will beat Philly and I give us a pretty good shot at KC as well.

Mostly just you. You did the same offense is good in the playoffs crap Watkins is debating. But when the argument was about EPA you dismissed it. Now you use it as basically your only talking point. It’s how all of you (like 3 or 4 of you here) pick and choose what stats support your argument. If you want one other concise stat to summarize his playoff performance you can pick any of them. Any of these games his entire stat line is poor. Maybe in the year 2049 we will have enough weapons for Josh. This wouldn’t be complete without adding the 4th Allen apostle. Thank you for your balanced views.

Do yourself a favor and review the offenses performance in some of the playoff games you think are a wash.

It's all a sliding scale with how competent the QB is. Josh is not at the level of Mahomes and has never accomplished even a shred of what Mahomes has accomplished. Not with a top 5 statistical defense, not with an All Pro WR. Now this year, not with an All Pro WR or a high end TE or a Top 5 RB statistically and what statistic sites like PFF rate as a top 10 offensive line. The only reason people like me debate against Josh is this notion that he even in a conversation with Mahomes. He just isn't right now. He's one of the better QB's in the league, but he has never won even a AFC championship game. Any QB who is actually as good as some of you guys make him out to be wouldn't need the qualifiers you give Josh. It really is that simple.
-
That's fine and all, but this entire conversation is predicated on accepting the argument that it's the WR's and not Mahomes which is purely a subjective exercise . I agree as far as how talented that roster was with Hill. It was shocking how easily Mahomes transitioned without him to win a Super Bowl. Almost like it never really mattered as much as people think because he was just playing at that high of a level.
-
Averages are the way these guys take the stink off. They can bring in 2021 to disinfect the rest of it. As I said earlier. With Allen; whatever narrative you want. A stat exists for you to hang your argument on. Just don’t use your eyes. We have posted under 20 points 3 times in the playoffs since 2019 in 3 separate years. It could easily be 4 times if it wasn’t for garbage TD’s vs KC in 2020. We also could have had 10 points two separate years if it wasn’t for a pick 6. The last team to win a Super Bowl and do it while scoring less than 20 points in the playoffs during that run was in 2018.

Our offense did nothing against Houston, Baltimore, KC in the championship game and the Bengals. Then they turned it over enough against Miami that a preschool offense would have beat us if they had as much. But because we played out of our mind in 2021 the perception is somehow we are good in the postseason and defense has been our only issue.
-
I don’t know if he’s a JAG but I can’t get on board with the reason KC isn’t performing is him. That’s the only difference in WR core. Yet the overwhelming narrative is not that Mahomes is playing poorly, it’s that he doesn’t have any weapons.
-
I’m curious where people come to the conclusion that Mahomes had much better WR’s last year. The only guy not on this years roster is Smith-Schuster. Who by your definition is a Jag. All his 125 yards this season. Further, why didn’t Josh get signaled out as having a top defense the last several years like it seems Mahomes does every time his name is brought up. Like everything else , people talk about whatever it is that fits the point of view they have. Stats are available for any angle you want on this conversation depending on how you want to put context around it (as you say). The reality is anybody who thinks they know 100% on Allen is completely full of it. If anything, he is everything discussed at once. But few people can comprehend such a perspective. You’re among the few capable of such a thing even if I don’t typically agree.

The point was Allen plays worse than most when he's not on and the variance is too extreme. I don't think that is really debatable when you look at rating in losses.
-
You realize in losses Allen is among the worse QB's in the league in QB rating since he has joined the NFL?
-
When Allen doesn't play well we go nowhere. We don't score, we don't win. It's not just sort of bad. Nothing works. It's the exact opposite when he plays well. Everything works. We drop 40 on most teams. We overwhelm teams. Why is it so severe and is that an issue? You could say it's because so much of the offense is built around him. That makes sense. But it's also in the play itself. When Allen is bad, he's awful. Bad picks. Difficulty getting first downs and sustaining any TOP on offense. It all but removes our chance at winning it's so bad. That type of play is occurring too much this season. Even if the overall numbers look good which as usual are being elevated by the ridiculously above average games. Everybody loves the Mahomes comparison this year who clearly isn't having a great year and nobody would say for a second that he is. So then they use that logic to justify Josh not having a great year and how all QB play is down. But what about the Purdy, Tagovailoa, Wilson, Prescott, Cousins, on it goes. Players in the top 10 in QBR this year who are not having nearly the rate of games this year so bad that winning is all but lost. Sure all QB's have them. They just don't have them at these rates. This thread is now hijacked and that is not my intention. But to get back to the point of the thread. To think that Josh can't grow more by reducing the variance is not just a decent questions. It's obvious. We have also seen this for a long time now. So to ask if it will ever change is not insulting it's logical. The high's and lows are too big and the playoffs require some degree of steadiness for multiple games. We will never survive this type of rollercoaster. In 19 career losses Mahomes has 92.4 rating, in 22 losses Burrow has a 83.4 rating. In 30 career losses Allen has a 73.2 rating. It's not the case unfortunately

His second game is in the three game sample and his first game is on the other. They're correct.

You actually are a pretty good poster and Allen has a lot of BS said about him. But you just have too much bias the other way. Even posters saying he is elite but not at his best this year makes you go off on some EPA tangent or rant about the offensive line or the WR's. Below is what you feel we should say Josh is at his best. 8 out 11 games this year that is what his stat profile looks like. I'm very optimistic with what we saw last week. He is still one of the best, but your opinion loses validity if you can't view things both ways.
-
You're basically insulting the guys because he asked a pretty legitimate question. You're so sensitive about anything to do with Josh it's hard to even have a logical conversation with you. You have eyes dude. He single handedly lost us the Jets game and probably at least one more if you're being honest. You will cling to EPA. When EPA doesn't fit your narrative it will be TD's. When TD's doesn't fit your narrative it will be other players. On it goes, the cycle of the insanity. The OP never said Josh wasn't an elite QB. Get off the horse.

he has videos on youtube that get posted of his golf outings. I used to drink like he does. Not exactly hard to spot the type.

They don't hit the course and shotgun beers as the status quo. Plenty of people in this world with self control. Nobody is going to pick a person who doesn't have that to lead an organization.

I think 2021 was his ceiling (for now). He was nearly perfect in several games that year. He had a coordinator that understood what he needed to be successful. Defenses had yet to adjust to what we see now, so you got to see his full skill set on display. Teams didn't spy him all the time. They didn't slow rush him so he was able to escape a lot which opened his rushing and improvisation more. Things we just don't see nearly as often as teams have taken it away. I think a better question would be what would he need to do in order to be better. From my perspective the offensive system needs to be a better fit. Dabs was excellent at designing plays that helped Josh be deliberate with his decisions. His weapons need to be a better fit. He is made for a big body WR and we have never given him one. Somebody like a Courtland Sutton with a big catch radius. Then I think it's just about maturity and personal and mental growth. As a player and as a person. He appears to me to still be somewhat stuck in that college mindset. "let's get F'in wasted". You see it in his golf outings. All that is fine. But it speaks to what I'm saying. An extremely well adjusted person at the top of his craft is not doing those things. A CEO of a company does not ask that person to run his business. He see's it right away, that person just isn't ready yet.

Irsay On 2014 Arrest - Happened Because He's A White Billionaire

What a sad story. Congrats for overcoming the odds Jim. -
It's was suggested by a rugby expert to do something along these lines. Essentially go horizontal against the center and guards and just stack them up. The Chiefs actually lined up this way but they weren't able to execute it. I half way joked about rug pulling the line and getting a personnel foul, but I actually think those concept have some merit. Whatever you do you need to figure out how to introduce some doubt or some new variable into the Eagles. It could be a combination of several things. Maybe on the first attempt you "accidentally" jump offside and drill Kelsey and Hurts. Then maybe on the 2nd attempt you take a quick back step and rug pull them. Then maybe you incorporate the sideways cut against the center and guard. Whatever you do I think you want to get Philadelphia thinking twice that they can just go low and drive. Get them thinking about making some business decisions. Don't make it easy.

It would be funny if we rug pulled them at the last second. Those lineman would just fall over.
