The decision that changed all the momentum
Mikie2times replied to Rocbillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ya. That would be a historically bad decision. The weather was good enough for the Eagles to make a 90 yards field goal. At worst, any NFL kicker makes that 60% or more, the actual average is 70-75%. You have a real risk of a 11 yard net punt on a touchback. I don’t disagree that the game seemed to change at that point. But it’s also when the Eagles started hammering those stretch run to the outside. We had no answer for that and it allowed them to get in some rhythm. -
If you think McD is the only reason we can't win close games you're mistaking. If you build a system to live and die with one player, you will not be alive very long.

Gabe Davis Miscommunication Plays this season
Mikie2times replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I needed ten yards to hit a nice parlay so I was hawking him. He was staying into block on at least half the pass plays. -
I think our offense has to figure out how to run with Josh Allen as a QB and not the offense. You saw that on clear display with Hurts today. The Eagles are a running team that will threaten you vertically if you challenge them while employing a ton of RPO and short routes to work as extensions of the running game. They have the right player groupings to execute this offense. Brady called a great game today, but what is our identify? We don’t have one. Josh is our identity and we will never go any further until that changes. In my mind, you guys saw the blueprint of what it should be today. Hurts is probably the most comparable QB to Josh in the NFL right now. We should be copying that system.

Do you wonder if the league is fixed?
Mikie2times replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s possible that officials ref games in such a way to make sure they stay close for long enough. Which really wouldn’t take some sort of conspiracy theory. You can call penalties on nearly every play and in doing so you can stop drives or start them with very little indication outside of “they’re only human”. It was certainly in the NFL’s interest for this to be a showcase event. It’s entertainment after all. As far as a literal attempt to work the calls towards one side, I don’t see the purpose. In this case the side that got the help was the side that needed it to stay close until they no longer did and magically the whistles slowed down.- 653 replies

Can we have a conversation about Diggs?
Mikie2times replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t know how you can have a defensive head coach, who demanded even more involvement and watch a lead with under 2 minutes evaporate as often as these guys have. This is supposed to be the ultimate leader of the team and his highest area of knowledge. Even if it is a team game. Even if these guys want to give McD the benefit of the doubt as leaders of the team. These guys sold out completely today. It was a playoff caliber effort. They gave the defense multiple chances for one stop. How can they keep supporting the process and putting in so much of themselves and preaching his gospel to the team with these outcomes. It might be different if a few of these went the other way but a lot of us have such feelings in life. Just like the rest of us, you don’t get certain things back. It sort of reminds me how some great relationships you might have had once upon a time didn’t work out and you wonder why. It often times could have been something that worked but for whatever reason time or circumstances or events changed the direction and no matter how much you try and go back, you just can’t do it. I don’t know if McD can go back at this point. Which certainly doesn’t make him a bad person or coach. He might be better off finding a new partner he can have a fresh start with along with the Bills. Give us another chance at love ❤️ 🥹😂 -
I think winning at all levels allows you to be more calm in clutch moments. How couldn’t it? Just as that behavior is reinforced so is the opposite. Just like Bills fans constantly feel doom coming. How can’t that have creeped into this team at least a little? How can’t the offense feel pressure with how the defense has closed games? If an element to learning how to win exists I think it’s rooted in this but certainly a very complicated subject to how players arrive at these places. When it starts. How does it turn around. Etc.

As I say this, you see the Chargers. How they’re playing tonight. Is that on Herbert or is it what the Chargers are asking Herbert to do? Then how they only throw and allow teams a limitless clock to come back?

As a chronic Allen negative poster ( I have been very hard on the guy but I rock his shirt every Sunday and he was amazing today ). I think we just depend on him too much. He will have a big turnover a lot of games and that’s part of this, certainly not all of it. I mean with that he’s the only reason we are in these situations. Incredibly gutsy performance today by Josh. Proud to have him as our QB and this issue certainly isn’t just him. It could have some relationship to how we use him and how we are built sure.

Can we have a conversation about Diggs?

I have noticed it and the thought the same. I wonder if he’s just burned on that full investment dog mentality everybody raves about. Sort of like, why am I doing this to myself? I’ll go out, play hard, and let the chips fall. Who knows. He has not played well for a few weeks now. -
I think the over dependence on Josh, who even in his greatness can make some mistakes at times (although clearly the only reason we are in these games). We did run the ball well towards the end, but 50 attempts. Then older players, not a lot of youth or even playmakers. Diggs is a great WR1 but he’s not a true home run hitter. Than our defense which never dictated to anybody. It has always been a bend but don’t break. McD has brought way more pressure packages, but still. We play a very vanilla defense at the end of games. Time management is obviously a huge issue and that’s on McD. Last, but not least. We just don’t execute the kill shots. Not during or at the end of games and our pass centric offense doesn’t extend drives bleeding the clock and allows plenty of time for our warts to eventually show. I don’t know where we go from here. Wish I did. Josh was insane. His best game since 13 seconds as far as will to win. It was basically the same type of game. Same devastating outcome.

You heard the announcers discussing how the Eagles "just know how to win". We have seen teams like the Chargers most recently that are the complete opposite. We are now 7-14 in game decided by 7 points or less since 2021. Against good teams we will be in a lot of these games. Hell, nobody even sniffed a Super Bowl unless that record was flip flopped. A lot of people here blame McD and yes, he owns a lot of this, but it seems like how it happens runs deeper than just one area. Is it the sometimes untimely turnovers? Is it the defensive scheme itself? Then addition the poor clock management overlaid on top of it. I get it, winners just win. But what is it in our recipe that doesn't make us "winners"? At a bit of a loss as I'm sure many of you're. Here are just some of the games that we have either blown or nearly blown in very improbable fashion. We have won some close games as well, but as the record shows, few and far between. Houston Playoff Wild Card 2019 Bills are outscored 22-3 to finish the game and lose in OT Indianapolis Playoff Wild Card 2020 Bills are outscored 14-3 in the final twelve minutes. Colts fizzle out on the final drive. Bills hold on. New England Week 8, 2020 Cam Newton fumbles on the Bills 19 yard line with 37 seconds left preserving the win Arizona Week 10, 2020 Hail Murray Tennessee Week 6, 2021 Bills are outscored 17-7 to end the game. Bills stopped on 4th and 1 at Tennessee 3 yard line. Tampa Bay Week 14 2021 Bills come roaring back with a chance to win on the last drive, instead it goes to OT. Bills lose in OT Kansas City Divisions Championship 2021 13 seconds Minnesota Week 19 2022 Epic implosion fresh on our minds NY Jets Week 1 2023 Jets outscore Bills 16-3 in the 4th quarter and OT, Bills lose NY Giants Week 6 2023 Bills avert complete disaster with a likely no call on the final play Denver Week 10 2023 Bills do everything to gift wrap the game, fold at the end. Philadelphia Week 12 2023 You just saw it

This is what happens when you want to win a Super Bowl. You win because of greatness. You don’t blow people out. -

We can’t stop those stretch plays. We have edge rushers on the outside
