I don’t think there is a scenario that has us ahead of the colts unless we win the division. If we aren’t good enough to win out they will end up tied with us or better. With our afc record and losing head to head they will win the tie breakers. Our safest route to playoffs is winning the division.

A good matchup on a fade includes a height advantage, you have to throw the ball before you even know if there is going to be separation. My example showed even with a receiver like Hopkins it’s not a high percentage play. Why risk it? Did the ball falling to the ground un caught look good too?

Dabolls play design and choice has a lot to be desired. The line is bad at run blocking, but the design and play choice and situational awareness of Daboll is so bad it is killing Singletary…

A better line would make a difference for Singletary, after watching Moss continuously choose the wrong hole, I’m not sure how much it helps him… Fails twice, Fades to receivers who don’t have a height advantage are terrible ideas, success rate has to be below 50%

Just watched two failed fades to Hopkins, same problem, a fade generally needs to be thrown high for guaranteed success. A few games ago they threw it to Diggs and the first play there was a penalty, he did score on the second throw. It’s a poorly designed play when your receiver has no height advantage. Relying on getting the correct call or throwing the ball before you know if the receiver is going to break from close coverage is not a smart risk to take. It didn’t work, we didn’t get the call. All we needed was a first down, there still was time, it was the wrong call.

They are not supposed to call plays at a critical juncture that have had a low % of being successful regardless of the officiating. Fades are best executed when the receiver has a physical & height advantage. We do not have a good track record on fades this season.

Except if the official makes the call on Diggs we have the ball at the 20 yard line, easiest PI call ever and they ignored it…pts stolen right there…
