you caught me, i didn't read the article as i focused on the quote in the OP stating 'clearly better' and "an affinity for Allen over Darnold" so i took it at face value. my best buddy is a Fins fan and i remember him bringing this up last year during the draft so yes, if the entire article is based around who they could plausibly get, the OP led me to believe it was based on talent/skill assessment. I still believe Darnold is an excellent product, Gase needs to get past his own ego and make this right and get that kid rolling, he's brimming with potential.
-
eh, i maybe believe the Mayfield part but not sure about Allen; if he was referring to pure talent I'd believe that but i'm not sure even he missed that Darnold was the most ready straight away and had the longer runway. (for the record i think Allen will get there) someone is just trying to fuel the fire, gosh, i though our local media coverage was prickly... Darnold was the right pick where he was taken.

Schein: Nine most alluring developments of Week 1
Say When... replied to ProcessYaDigg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
^^this i've held back this statement as i want to be respectful to all but the above is as true as it gets. You don't walk into another teams stadium, spot them 4 TO's (2 within scoring range), 16 points and still beat them unless you are the better team plain and simple. Sure, there's potential 'meltdown' scenarios but the Jets aren't that undisciplined; the Bills woke up, realized what they had to do and executed. -
Schein: Nine most alluring developments of Week 1

Baltimore played Miami and KC's D might be worse than last year... no, it IS worse than last year. i love the optimism and i am right there eating it up but the Pats*** are set for a 16-0 season and this team(Bills), especially, won't be beating them, as they were in week 1, let alone having AB in their arsenal. Sure, the Steelers seemed disinterested Sunday night but they are still a good team and were whooped 6 ways; Pats*** center issue? what center issue? still have plenty of firepower and now the addition of AB, regardless of how crazy anyone thinks that was just a show so he could get to where he wants, he'll settle down and fall in line with the Patriot way. -
AB will be cool and the Pats will go on another historic run, i don't see a loss for them in the regular season. Best case is Brady wears down and AB can't make his #'s for the incentives, still then, he'll be happy for the ring. Maybe Greggggggg will bounty him but those idiots need to be less obvious about it, Anderson can't crawl halfway across the field and "roll up" on Brady's backside.

i'm still looking for video on the play but did anyone notice when we had an edge rusher run right Darnold uncontested and by the time he came back Darnold had gotten rid of the ball. I couldn't tell if they thought he didn't have the ball or was worried about a RtP call but if they had run directly at him could have been probably the cleanest sack of the game.

this - and after watching the network footage and pausing through release, trajectory and it hits Beasley's forearm i believe he intentionally threw that ball exactly as it happened, and 95% of the time that's a safe play. if he tries to hit beasley in the numbers with Mosley closing as he did it's a potential tip and int/pick6. damned if you do and damned if you don't, but i think he shouldn't be afraid to do it again. weird thing is Gannon went on how that was Josh's fault and threw it behind Cole and it bounced off his hip; it did no such thing, it was ahead of Cole and he tried to scoop it up in an attempt to run with it and it deflected off his forearm, hence he had his hands too far ahead of the ball. if Cole had just reserved himself to a catch and secure on the ground it's be 2nd down and 4.

i saw some virtual finger pointing going on after the robert parrish arc throw to Bell to complete the 2 point conversion but other than that they stayed as a team through thick and thin. BTW - in a game with a myriad of problems that one play irked me the most, not sure why but i literally dreamed about that play over and over last night, it was simply inexcusable in my book. the 2nd play that stuck with me was the safety; since when does Gore sidestep?

Just before the Bills last touchdown my neighbor asked if i could help his mother move patio furniture back in place as it was stacked for Dorian. I started to say "could i at least watch the last 5... and he looked at me with the blank stare" so i obliged. He was injured in a car accident many years ago so the walk back to his house was painfully slow. i texted my buddies, yes 1 is a HUGE Jets fan, and 1 is a HUGE fins fan (we're quite the group on Sunday) to tell them i was pulled away and the Jets fan kept sending texts with 'wow', 'wow' and 'wow'; i don't think he was doing it on purpose but it was as little description as possible, was driving me crazy. The kicker? my phone wasn't updating the Bills app so i couldn't see we won and his mother said "i hope we didn't pull you away from anything", to which i responded "not at all, i was just watching the game." she says "what game? the patriots don't play till 8pm tonight"

Injury update: Andre Roberts out, Kroft not (yet)

not taking any offense, we just have a difference of opinion if i have a nicked guy that plays 1 role really well and can replace him with a healthy guy that plays multiple roles 'well' i'm going for the latter. total agreement, would prefer to have everyone healthy but that's not the case here so i answered the "what the heck is wrong with Roberts?"; maybe he's 80% but with all that's at play here we sit him and bring in an alternate contributor that can provide more value. -

decision based on getting the most value out of the situation: 1 player - 2 roles on ST - nicked up - opposition may negate him by kicking away or 1 player - roles on Offense and ST - healthy - last minute add; opposition will now need to account for i know Roberts was listed as a WR but did/does he ever play the position outside of blowouts/etc; answered my own Q, has 35 receptions in the last 4 years. -

looking at the trend of events my spidey sense is going off or maybe it's a stroke. considering they (Jets) know him and would probably practice kicking away from him and he's strictly a spot relegated to PR/KR maybe they thought they would go the Belicheckian route and drag it out and pull him at the "last" minute and we now have a player that's on ST and O thats active. not saying the injury isn't real, maybe just enough to make it an easy decision given the above.
