License suspension vs. revocation
mcjeff215 replied to BradRiter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, one can. The judge that yanked my wife's license asked her whether she needed the car to drive to work. She said that she didn't need it, for whatever reason. Probably just nervous. This was before we were married, but I wound up toting her arse to and from work every day. -
License suspension vs. revocation

I don't know, honestly.... ever move across state line? There's a question on them forms that reads 'Is your license currently suspended or revoked in a different state?' Regardless, he wont' be able to legally drive in NY for a while (and that's where he's going to spend a big chunk of time). My wife had her license revoked when she was about 19 years old, maybe 20. She was hauling ass down the street and got tagged doing some stupid number of miles over the limit. As she was under 21, the laws are different in GA, so they yanked it. She had to wait 6 months, at which point she was able to reapply. They didn't make her take a test or anything, just just had to get pictures taken and whatnot. They printed a new license while we waited. I don't understand the point of it, honestly. Why a temporary revocation? It's nothing but a suspension with the added 'have to drive down to get a new one' pain in the ass. Perhaps there's a legal difference. Actually... they MAY have made her take a test again... I'll ask her. I don't honestly remember. Still, just a bit of a pain in the ass factor thrown on a suspension. -
How does it play with NYC's strict laws? It seems they effectively have a ban, no?

Lots of stadiums and whatnot are placed in the ghetto.. honestly, who wants that crap in their backyard? The GA dome area sucks (though it's gotten better). My buddy lives adjacent to RWS. Last time I was at his place was during last years monday night game. I was draining the vein when the Bills scored their first TD. The crowd was so loud I almost pissed in my eye. The difference between me and most other people in the country? I consider that extremely good surround sound system. I grew up about a mile away from RWS, so hearing 'Shout!' from the backyard makes me homesick.

Music City Miracle on right now on NFL network

Hah. A little part of me expects the calls to be different each time. Every time I see any of the painful highlights. I expect Norwood's kick to be just a bit more to the left... I expect this to be called back with time expired... I expect Hull's goal to be waved off... Never turns out that way, though. -
You know, if there was ever a 'planned leak', this has got to be it. Regardless, I'd like to hear it myself.

Yeah, but the 'Keep Mars Red' movement has already succeeded in creating a polar ice refuge so we can't drill there.

Bah, he's not going to be a train-hopping "beans in a can eating" crack-head. No hobo-style here. I'll put $50 on him being a college drop-out loser that lived with his parents up until 6 months ago. I'm sure they up and kicked him out because he always comes home stoned. The "homeless" guy in this scenario is going to be your classic creep that never stopped hanging around the high school. I'm sure he figures all of the girls like him, but truth be told, they're just f%&king him because he's old enough to supply the beer on the weekends. Everyone knew a guy like this in high school. I can think of a few off of the top of my head. There was always a collection of 20-somethings at all of the parties we'd throw. Guys that just don't want to grow up for whatever reason and wind up "homeless" in the sense that they're consistently crashing at a buddy's house. You ask anyone at that school who he is and half of the students will tell you he's always at the smoking hangout to pick up his friends at the end of the day. Guy needs to spend a few days behind bars to knock some reality into him. at the thought that she went out and picked up an inner city trash-pickier!

I've heard that too. You know, next time you fly into Buffalo, pay attention. I remember noticing that when I flew in last October. It was crazy how many pools one sees on approach.

Oh sure! No comparison, but you do need to factor that in. Lots of developments that have the neighborhood pool explicitly deny personal pools in the HOA covenants. Additionally, I would think that a pool-is-a-pool to most. If there's a neighborhood one available, the desire for one in the backyard drops off dramatically -- you're simply creating a reason for someone to pass when you sell. That all said, I'd put one in if my neighborhood didn't have one. Nothing beats a pool during the summer. Especially here in Georgia. Congrats on the purchase! If we ever wind up back in WNY, I'll probably do the same.

Yeah, I found her MySpace page a week ago, but I would have felt like a creep posting the link... I thought about it, but wound up deleting what I *had* posted out of respect. -

Oh good lord that's the truth. I called HSBC about a mortgage up there a while back while we were contemplating moving back. Her response? "Why would you want to move back here?" When we talked to a realtor? "Why would you want to move back here?" Old Friends? "Why would you want to move back here?" If I hadn't lived there before and had perhaps been a transfer, they would have talked me clean out of it. -
Ak... get well, Milli. I'd donate if we had a collection.

Ha. I like that. That about sums up the buffalo mentality, eh? I still think that way, honestly. I'd love to move back up and start a tech shop, perhaps outsourced support or something as I'm sure there would be cheaper labor and real estate. -

Oh god yes. I can make it to work in 30 minutes now and the people are *much* friendlier. I've a theory that those up in Bartow are mad at the world due to their economic situation. Yeah, and thanks to the Gallas boys, I'm 10 minutes from REAL food! -

I've got a Bills plate and two Sabres decals on my car. It's my "heritage symbol." Much like all of the confederate flags one sees on cars around here. -

Yeah, I was wondering if that was the place he was referring to. Great food! I'm about 5 miles outside of delivery range, but that's where we get our pizza from whenever we're slightly too lazy to cool. My wife loves that stuff (and she's from here). As an aside, you folks need to start making those Italian Sausage subs you get up north... with the Provolone and mayo an whatnot. I miss those! As for being an ex-Buffalonian.. you'd damn well better believe I'm proud of it. Everyone I work with knows that's where my work ethic and value system comes from. Family has always been blue collar steel folk. Well, we've a few police officers and career military within the pedigree. I take southern friends to sporting events and most of them are simply amazed at how every one of us pulls together behind our teams. They're starting to understand that it's not just sports -- it's a symbol of who we are! At some point, we'll move home. It's going to be a while, but that's okay. I still see myself as a Buffalonian every day. I'm just living in Georgia. Everything else is just the same. -
http://www.buffalonews.com/cityregion/buff...ory/370534.html Funny how a single 27 year old can afford such high profile attorneys, eh? While the guilty ought to be liable, it sounds as though there's some personal injury lawsuit posturing going on from her side.... 'well, it's worse than....' Can't help but think that these guys jumped on her once they realized what was going on. A hit-and-run injury involving an NFL Player? Isn't that a personal injury attorney's dream case? I don't so much care who did what... this is turning into a bit of a show. Lastly, I think she's on MySpace, but as I'm not 100% positive, I'm not going to post a link.

A real man carries his weapon in a locked case and only assembles it when he smells the deer among the pines.

That's the point I was making a few posts ago. It's actually *not* a lot of firepower. The round it uses is no more powerful than a hunting rifle. My .30-06 is more powerful than an AK-47. Those guns are also known for being extremely reliable. He was probably a collector, honestly. If he'd have accidently fired a .454 at him (which *is* a lot of fire power), no one would think twice. Being in texas at this time of year, with a round like that, I'd guess they were probably just hunting wild pigs. I know that there's no season on them here in GA as they're considered "nuisance animals." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_assault_weapons_ban It's a WP article, but I think it covers it somewhat fairly.

I saw them twice in Australia (Melbourne). This was after a 4 month 'Internet campaign' to get them to play Killing Time while was there. I got about half of it. I had a chance to meet Kirk afterwards, and he said they did play that for me "as much as they could remember."
