A good team would triple down, and skip WR, TE and RB all together.

I’ll trust them to use our resources wisely. As always, win the LOS and the game gets much more winnable.

    Ta Da ^^^

If your lines ain’t good, your team ain’t good... Bueler Bueler, anyone....

  2. If “big run” means big money, no.

    If fair money then yes/maybe.

gonna be lots of disappointment at the end of free agency on this board, like every year, it’s like many are not paying any attention to how our FO does business.... me, I think I will be pleasantly surprised by the start of the season, but I’m the layed back sort, you know, sipping Pinot Grigio nibbling on dark chocolate, down in the Islands ????? ?

  3. Passing league, running league, blah blah blah, it’s both.  The deal is this, You have to win at line of scrimmage with both O & D lines.  When the O line dominates the run/pass game works, when the D line dominates, the defensive scheme works, when these two things happen you win the game the vast majority of the time. It’s the core of your team.

Fix the right tackle situation, get an edge rusher, and a WR or two after that get a RB.

Big difference in taxes with a huge family moving from California to Florida

There certainly is a difference, but the guys a multi millionaire many many times over, it is not likely a big concern for him. How many millions has he pocketed every year for how many years? Not counting interest on investments... again not a real big concern for the one percenters. This is a family decision, not a financial decision. That and his career is in its tail end, may as well go home, chill, play a little golf, spend some time with the kids, and even let his body heal up completely.

They should not cut Long. Good Oline depth is almost non-existent around the league. You don't get rid of it to save $3m unless you need to in my opinion.

In the same vein I wouldn't cut Ty Nsekhe but he might be a candidate for the surprise cut list too.

Some folk seem to think making holes in your roster before you have a position filled is a good idea, just don’t get that myself, and like you said, quality depth on O lines is rare in the league. Ya can’t cut people without a REAL PLAN in place.

100% agree. I really am tired of the games over there. We don't need to expand there and they already know the game. NFL gets richer and the fan loses a game.

You foreigners are tryin to steal our precious American football, aren’t you satisfied with your own Soccer football, Christ is nothing sacred on this planet ? next thing ya know you will be pushing warm beer down our throats, ( better than no beer I guess) you all lost this country fair and square ages ago, so don’t come sneaking around here anymore.

I think it means that the folks posting stuff about all the cuts and surprise cuts we're going to see to save cap room and hire 3 big splashy FA are gonna be hella sad in March.

I think it means just what he said - they try to have vet players in every room who interpret the coach's message for the team but who may not be the best players on the team or the best players available.   McDermott wants Beane to make a push to sign FA's like Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips (and/or Corey Liuget, if he thinks he's contributed and shown leadership).  I think it means he expects to keep guys who are under contract like DiMarco and Roberts (for ST) and Smith around.  The only way he cuts those guys is if they bring in a veteran who seems to bring what he regards as equivalent leadership.

There are some guys like 'Zo who have retired and others like Gore who really should retire.    That's what he means by "some of that happens with retirement and other reasons that come with age"

Don't expect him to be going along with cutting or trading any proven veterans like Poyer because we have promising youngsters, before he sees that those youngsters have indeed stepped up.

There's a couple mocks including cbs having us take Taylor in the 1st. If Shenault is gone this would be a good pick. The NFL is cyclical and with teams like Tenn & SF, its moving back to a run heavy trend. Taylor and Singletary would be an awesome combo.

Do you really think Beane would draft a running back in the first round? Seems damn unlikely imo.

I think the surprise is NOBODY gets cut.
It’s possible everyone currently under contract makes it to preseason.

You don’t cut players until someone steps up and takes their job unless you need the money. We do not.
Might as well load up in the draft, sign who we are going to sign between our guys and free agents. Let the best battle it out.
Once you have a good idea of your top 53 you can dangle guys for draft picks, trade them for possible depth players, or just outright cut them. What’s the rush to get them off the team?

This^^^,  it’s like last years free agency period, TC & preseason, bring in everyone you want and let them fight for their spot, no gimies any more, keep good depth, trade or cut those that don’t perform the way you need them to.  Never make holes in your roster, if you do you are not operating from a position of power when replacing/upgrading those positions.

    Go Bills!!!
