Goodell Admits NFL Was Wrong Not to Listen
Don Otreply replied to K-9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t, I also know as a former Marine that taking a knee during the National anthem is a constitutional right that I served to protect. Why is it that some Americans so viscerally dislike it when other Americans exercise their constitutional rights? Doing so by using a straw man argument about our military service members to feebly attempt to make a mistaken point, and then repeatedly doubling down on that very mistaken point? Again why would an American citizen want to prevent another American citizen from exercising their constitutional rights? Such action is totally UN-AMERICAN. -
We are going to have a very good tandem RB attack, Singletary and Moss are going to be the dynamic duo in my opinion. BR has some good reporting, but with this level of output they may join another outfit to never click on that does not deserve anyone’s patronage... I’m looking at you PFF... Go Bills!!!

Does everyone realize that an enormously politically powerful group of multi billionaires have sided with the center left of our countries politics on our countries biggest social justice issue? guess who’s winning the culture war in America folks, it ain’t the “ they are disrespecting the nation’s military personnel by taking a knee” crowd. The billionaire NFL owners just dumped those types on their combined backsides. Its about time! Semper FI America!!! Six years in the USMC. -

I see more players taking a knee, will we get to see if Americans believe in Americans exercising their constitutional rights. There will be a noisy minority that can’t live with it... for the majority of Americans it will be an honored tradition. -

The first amendment, granting free speech, and Protesting injustice in our country is always okay, and yes, even during the national anthem. Doing so has nothing whatsoever to do with our military personnel. Having served in the United States Marine Corp for six years, I can never take offense when Americans exercise their constitutional rights that I served to protect, and I applaud those that do so. To do otherwise would be totally UN-AMERICAN. “Of the people by the people for the people” Being that our employers/businesses make way more money off our work than we do, they can stand quietly by while we Americans exercise our constitutional rights. If a business feels that our constitutional rights have no weight in their eyes, well it’s time for a change then isn’t it!! -

Wake up and smell the root cause of America’s social unrest. It’s been there your entire life, in fact it has been there for the duration of our countries existence. Step outside of the bubble you live in and have a look around... Our current president is and has been stoking the flames since before he got to the White House, Russia itself could not have done a better job of ripping apart the social fabric of our country, but, We, yes you, me and the rest of us Americans can fix this if we just face the facts, and do the right things. It is a matter of having the guts to try. United we stand, divided we fall. The promise of America will have failed if we do not face the fact that the long held policies of racism and corporate greed need to be addressed, and changed for the benefit of the vast majority of American citizens. Otherwise we will have been divided and conquered..... White Americans through action and inaction have brought this to be, As a whole white America has treated non white Americans poorly for hundreds of years, and they are pissed off about it, when was the last time a white guy got shot for jogging in a park??

Damn well put Shaw66, you always do such a fine job of putting pen to paper, thank you! Go Bills!!! -
That would be cool,

Not at all, one is perceived by how one presents oneself. And social injustice is not a problem going forward? Rampant corporate greed is not a problem? The richest of our society not paying their share of the tax burden which burdens the working class all the more, these are all social injustices that need to be addressed. You use lots of words and say nothing at the same time, it’s an art form, I understand that.
-
Been in protests, leaned to see how the history of our country is rife with injustice that are still happening in our justice system, how about you, or do you just sit back and not care?
-
And you find it funny, hmmm...
-
Sadly you are evidently unable to see it...

Like lynching and burning people , shooting a jogger in the park. It is OUR society, inaction is the same as condoning.
